The girls had hadn't to know Rainbow Dash over the next few months. She normally had a stutter. Applejack thought it was cute. She would tell her that sometimes too.

Rainbow didn't talk about herself at all and the girls never asked her why until one day.

"Rainbow??".

Rainbow looked up from her book.

"Why don't cha tell us about herself??".

Rainbow looked at her book.

"W-Well. What do y-you wanna know??", she asked.

Applejack thought.

"Well, fir starters, why don't you ever tell us about your parents??".

Rainbow was silent for a minute.

"Um...... well i.... I guess I just don't think they're very important".

"They're your parents. How can they not be important??".

Rainbow looked away.

"I-I just, d-don't think you'll like them w-when I tell you about them".

AJ raised a questioning brow.

"Tell me".

Rainbow bit her lip.

"They j-just...... aren't in the best conditions".

"And by that ya mean??".

Rainbow sighed. She looked at the time.

"I have to go", she said suddenly.

She got up. Applejack and her went downstairs. Applejack reached out and stopped her.

"What do you mean Rainbow??".

Rainbow looked away.

"My mom's a d-drug addict a-and my dad's in jail. There".

Applejack's eyes widened. Rainbow walked away. Applejack watched her, knowing not to bother her more today. But this was not okay. This conversation was not over.

"What??".

The girls couldn't believe it. Rainbow sighed.

"Yeah. M-My dad's been in jail since I-I was little. My mom gets high all the t-time that's why I-I'm not usually at home".

"You poor thing".

Rarity hugged her. Rainbow let her. She sighed and nodded.

"It's kinda why I-I'm like this", she said motioning to herself.

"What do you mean??", Fluttershy asked.

"Why I-I stutter a-and why I never had friends before you guys . I-I've never really been a part of the crowd".

Rainbow rubbed her arm self-consciously.

Twilight placed a comforting hand on her shoulder. Rainbow flinched.

"Sorry. I-I'm just not use t-to being touched. I-I wasn't really held much as a kid. Never got picked up, never played with, a-always by myself in the room. I-I just....... don't know how t-to react to being touched so when I d-do get touched, I-I flinch. Sorry".

Rainbow shied away.

Applejack felt bad for her.

"It's fine Rainbow. We understand. Take your time an maybe you'll trust us enough that maybe ya won't flinch at us".

The blonde smiled. Rainbow looked down at her own shoes.

"I-I guess", she said.

"Hey", Pinkie spoke up.

"Why don't we have a sleepover??. It'll be so much fun".

The girls looked at Rainbow.

Rainbow shrugged.

"I would but I gotta go home to do stuff".

Applejack raised her arms.

"Liar".

Rainbow sighed.

"You're staying", Applejack stated.

Rainbow groaned. "Why are you kidnapping m-me??".

Applejack smirked.

"Because ah can".

Rainbow bit her lip.

"I-I don't know. I-I've never hung out with friends at a sleepover before. I-I don't think I'm friend material".

The girls looked at her.

"What??".

Applejack laughed.

"You're funny. You're sittin here belittling yourself but ya don't realize just how amazing you are".

Rainbow blushed.

"Thanks, I guess".

Applejack smiled. "No problem".

"So. I'll order pizza", Pinkie said getting up.
They were hanging at her place. The girls all texted their parents to let them know they were spending the night.

"Okay so. What movie you girls wanna watch??", Twilight asked.

"Something scary", Pinkie exclaimed.

"No", Rarity argued.

"We are gunna have Fluttershy afraid to go to sleep because there's a monster under her bed or think one of us is trying to kill her".

"How about an action movie??", Applejack suggested.

"Yeah", Rarity agreed.

"Okay then. I have the perfect one", Pinkie got up and walked over to the movie shelf. She took out a movie and put it in. The girls sat down and started the movie.

Some point in the movie there was a scene where everybody was doing drugs and getting high.

The girls looked at Rainbow, fearing that this might upset the girl. But Rainbow instead was laughing.

"Uh Rainbow??. What's so funny??".

Rainbow looked at her giggling.

"I find it funny that I-Ican name e-every single that i-in this scene. A-Also, that guy was snorting wrong. You're suppose to use to flat object to make the lines of the cocaine. Then you c-could use the straw a-and or tube to snort it. Also, he's n-not holding the other side of his nose d-down. You only use one nostril to snort. Not both. I-I mean you could, but m-most people d-don't".

AN: THIS IS SAD HOW I KNOW THIS. XD I learned all that from watching this guy in my Spanish class snort chalk. That's the kind of place I live in. Please ignore my idiot self)

The girls stared at her questioningly.

Rainbow shied away.

"How do you know all of that??", Twilight asked.

Rainbow played with her fingers.

"My mom".

The girls looked at eachother.

"Told you I-I shouldn't be here. I-I can always go home".

Applejack wrapped her arms around her waist, trapping her.

"Not so fast".

Rainbow sighed.

They finished the movie.

The girls stood up.

Applejack held Rainbow by her wrist.

"If you dare start doin drugs ah will kill ya", she warned.

Rainbow nodded.

"Okay. I won't".

Applejack nodded. "Let's head ta bed ya'll. It's late".

12:36 to be exact.

The girls went upstairs. They had 3 bedrooms. So they split up into pairs. Twilight and Fluttershy. Rarity and Pinkie. And Rainbow and Applejack.

They all said goodnight and went to their rooms.

Applejack shut the door. Turning, she sighed. She saw Rainbow on the floor, sitting against the wall, her knees up to her chest, head down.

AJ walked over to her and kneeled down.

"Rainbow??".

Rainbow looked up.

"Huh??", she asked tiredly.

"Why are ya on the floor??", Applejack asked.

"I always sleep like this. I don't have a bed so I sleep on the floor".

Applejack raised an eyebrow.

"I-I was suppose to get one but m-my mom spent the money o-on other stuff".

Rainbow blushed and looked away.

Applejack lifted her up to her feet.

"You're sleeping in bed, with me".

Rainbow and Applejack climbed in. AJ turned the light off and climbed in. The two laid down. Rainbow looked really confused for a moment.

"Are you okay sugarcube??", AJ asked.

She heard Rainbow sigh.

"I - It's just, I'm use t-to smelling smoke in the house a-and hearing fights out i-in the streets and sirens a-and it's...... quiet".

Applejack frowned.

Reaching an arm out she wrapped an arm around her waist and brought her close.

"Do you ever feel safe at home??".

"No", Rainbow replied.

"Well, how do you feel here, with us??".

It was quiet.

"W-Well.... when I'm with you.....I-I feel safe".

Applejack couldn't help but smile. Her heart fluttered at the words.

Rainbow scooted a little closer.

"I-I know it's stupid but when I-Im around you. I feel like nothing hurt me".

Applejack brought her hand up to the girl's cheek.

"You are safe here. Ah promise you that. Ain't nothing gunna hurt cha when we're around. Especially when Ah'm here".

Rainbow smiled. "Okay. I-I believe you".

Applejack wrapped her arm around her waist, scooting her closer. She felt Rainbow's hair under her chin. She could tell the girl was tense.

"Goodnight Rainbow", she whispered.

"Goodnight",Rainbow whispered back.

The two girls fell asleep. Applejack promised herself something. To always protect Rainbow. She couldn't get safety at home. But she darn will be safe with her an the girls.

Little did she know that that promise would be put to the test the very next day.
