Applejack sat down at her table. It was
lunch time. Setting tray down she waited for her friends. Finally her friends also teammates came.

"Hey AJ", Spitfire said. She smiled at her. The blonde waved. She looked around. Suddenly something caught her eye. Sitting at a table in the far side of the lunch room was Rainbow Dash.

AJ couldn't help but smile at the sight of her. She felt a warm feeling whenever she saw Rainbow.

Suddenly, "oooooh. Applejack likes someone".

Applejack turned and looked at Spitfire. The girl had a grin on her face.

"No I dont", she stated.

" OK sure".

Applejack felt a blush on her face. She looked back at Rainbow. She couldn't see her clearly but had a feeling she was......upset.

The jock didn't know why but she just had a feeling.

Getting up she took her tray and walked across the cafeteria. She heard girls squeal and guys calling her name. That's what happens when you were captain, you become popular. Like, celebrity popular. Girls wanted to be you and guys wanted to date you. But Applejack didn't let it go to her head.

She walked up to Rainbow Dash.

"Hey".

Rainbow looked up. Her eyes were pink and tears streamed down her face.

Applejack immediately put her tray down and sat.

"What's wrong??".

Rainbow sighed. She looked down.

"Life".

Applejack looked confused. Suddenly it ckicked.

"Is someone giving you a rough time here??".

Rainbow fiddled with her hands. She nodded.

"Well I can help", Applejack said.

"You don't have to", Rainbow replied. She looked up at her.

Applejack shook her head.

"I won't let this continue".

She reached out a took one of Rainbow's hands. The girl's eyes widened. She looked up.

"I'll deal with whoever it is".

Rainbow finally gave in and told her who. Applejack was shocked to find it was boys from her own team. She excused herself and got up. Hurryin back to her team she stood in front of the two boys.

The two looked at their captain.

"Yes captain??".

Applejack crossed her arms. "If ah hear or see you bullying Rainbow again, you're off the team"

She walked away. Walking back over to Rainbow she sat down.

It was a few days later. Applejack had came to realize that she had fallen for the girl called Rainbow Dash.

She couldn't help it. Rainbow was just too adorable. Her glasses, her shyness. Even the way she played soccer was cute. Don't ask, just trust Applejack that it was.

Every few times she would talk to Rainbow in the hallways, when Noone was watching.

"Diamond looked around at her classmates. How could they do that to her??. She thought they were her friends.
You really thought we wanted a freak like you to be our friend, Dash said. Diamond felt her eyes water. She couldn't stay there any longer. She ran out of the room, tears running down her face, completely humiliated".

Applejack couldn't believe it. They were almost at the last chapter.

"Wow. Didn't expect that", she admitted.

Rainbow nodded. She put her book down.

"So what's your family like??", Applejack asked.

Rainbow froze. She held her eyes on the floor.

"Why??", she asked.

Applejack frowned.

"I mean. Mah parents died when I was little, you know that. So..... what's yours like??".

"I don't exist to them".

That one statement broke her heart. Applejack scooted closer.

"They just ignore me..... and when they do know I'm there, they yell at me. They yell for no reason at all. Just to yell. Sometimes I would try to talk to them about something and they would cut me off and have their own conversation. It's......... I can't explain the feeling. Invisible. I guess".

Applejack felt her heart break even more. She had no idea. Rainbow was such a sweet and nice person. But that would explain alot. Her quietness, her ability to stay away from and ignore every person on earth. She was ignored by everyone so she learned to do the same. It was the only thing she knew.

"Well. You have me and I wouldn't ever ignore you. You don't deserve that".

Rainbow smiled. "Thanks. You're awesome".

"You're awesomer".

Rainbow laughed. "That's not a word, but okay".

Applejack rolled her eyes. "Shut up".

Rainbow giggled again. She felt her heart beat faster. The teen had come to realize that she was falling for Applejack. But she knew they couldn't be together. Applejack and her were totally opposite. Applejack was a sporty, popular jock and she was, well..... a nerd.

Rainbow felt her heart sink when she left that day. She never got what she wanted, could she??.

"Life is just always against me, isn't it??".
