The jock and the nerd Part 2

Applejack looked at her phone. Should she call or should she let Rainbow call her??. Looking at the clock she saw it was 4:34pm. She sighed and looked back at her phone. Picking it up she found Rainbow's number and pressed call.

It rung for a few seconds before someone picked it up.

"Hello??".

"Hey Rainbow Dash??".

"Yeah??".

"It's me Applejack".

She heard a noise from the other side of the line. A yelp came from Rainbow.

"Uh hi".

Applejack ' eyebrows knitted together.

"Are you okay sugarcube??".

"Uh yeah. I'm fine".

Applejack didn't believe it.

"So um about the readin' thing. You wanna come over here??".

"Sure".

"I'll text you my adress".

"Okay, see ya".

The phone line hung up. Applejack texted her the adress. She waited for her.

It was about a hour and a half before the bell rung. Hurrying over to the door, she opened it.

Applejack's eyes widened. Rainbow stood there, completely wet from head to toe.

"Come on in".

Rainbow stepped in. She looked around. She looked at Applejack.

"Uh why are you this wet??", Applejack asked.

"I had to walk. I live across town so it took a while".

Applejack went to go get a towel. She came back and began to dry Rainbow's glasses. She put them down for a moment she dried a bit of her bangs.

"You don't have to do that", Rainbow said.

Applejack shrugged. "It's fine. It's the least I could do".

"Thanks".

Applejack dried her as best she could.

"You should be fine now. Your clothes dry??".

Rainbow felt her back and skirt then front. She nodded.

"Well come on".

Rainbow picked up her backpack and they went upstairs. Walking into the room Applejack told her to sit on the bed.

Rainbow sat down and took out her book. Applejack got hers out.

"So chapter 1".

They opened her book.

"You wanna read first, every other page??".

Rainbow nodded.

Rainbow began to read. It was an okay chapter. After they finished it Rainbow.pit down her book, a shocked look on her face.

"What??", Applejack asked.

"Wow. That was...... Wow".

Applejack was confused.

"What happened??".

"It was talking about how she was struggling to survive. That was depressing".

"You got all that from the first chapter??".

Rainbow nodded. "Yeah".

She looked around. Applejack looked at her. "So, you wanna hang out here for a bit??".

" Can i??", Rainbow asked, a look in her eyes AJ couldn't explain.

"Sure. So........ what do you like to do??", Applejack asked.

Rainbow rubbed her arm shyly.

"Read. Write. Play soccer".

Applejack perked up.

"Soccer??. I love soccer. Maybe we can play together one day".

"Yeah, maybe. I've never had anyone to play it with before". Rainbow smiled.

Applejack smiled back.

"You should smile more. It's nice".

Rainbow looked away, a blush on her face.
"So uh you're the uh, captain of the soccer team".

"Yeah ah love ta play soccer and ah just love sports".

Rainbow grinned. "It's kinda funny. The jock and the nobody".

Applejack frowned.

"Nobody??".

Rainbow shook her head. She looked out the window.

"I should get home".

She stood up. Applejack stood as well and they walked downstairs to the front door. It was still pouring outside. Suddenly Rainbow sniffled.

Applejack looked at her. "You okay??".

Rainbow nodded. "Just uh, a bit under the weather all of the sudden".

She was getting sick from the walk in the rain. It would only get worse if she walked home.

"Let me drive you".

Rainbow looked at her. "It's okay. I can-".
She was cut off by a sneeze.

"Bless you".

Rainbow thanked her and sighed.

"Come on. I'll drive you".

Applejack grabbed her hoodie and they left.

Getting into the car Applejack looked at Rainbow. The girl looked so small in the seat.

The car started and drove down the street. Rainbow gave her the adress. The car ride was quiet.

They arrived at Rainbow's house. It looked nice. Rainbow opened the door.

"Thanks".

Applejack smiled. "No prob. Get some medicine".

Rainbow nodded and closed the door. She walked to her house and went in. Applejack watched her enter before driving off.
