Applejack grinned.

"You mean me??".

Rainbow looked up at her, a smile on her face. They came.

"Let her go Thunderstorm. Ya don't gotta do this", Applejack said.

Thunderstorm laughed.

"Oh?? Or else what??".

"Or we'll make ya".

Applejack took out her sword. Twilight and Pinkie followed her lead and took out their weapons.

Thunderstorm smirked. "I don't think that'll be necessary. I'll let you play with Star".

Turning he called his stormknights. "RELEASE STAR!!".

"Who's star??", Pinkie asked. Applejack shrugged. Suddenly a bone chilling shriek echoed through the stone room. The girls covered their ears. They heard ground shaking footsteps coming from a cave in the back from the room.

It stomped out into the moon lite room.

"Oh shit".

Applejack stood there frozen. The creature stood there, towering over them.

"She's a dragon".

Applejack, Twilight, and Pinkie looked at eachother.

"Star!!", Thunderstorm called.

The dragon looked down at the dark fairy. The creature seemed to obey him.

"Good girl. Now".

Thunderstorm turned to look at the girls. Applejack's stomach dropped.
He wouldn't.

"Kill".

The dragon looked up and spotted the girls.

"Keep them busy until I get the magic", Thunderstorm said turning to Rainbow.

The dragon heading right towards them.

"Find a shield!!", Applejack commanded.

"We're gunna need them!!".

They turned around and ran, looking around the room. Applejack spotted the stormknights. They had shields.

"The knights. Get their shields!!".

The girls ran towards the stormknights when something crashed down, blocking their path. Looking up they saw it was the dragon's tail. The dragon tried to grab the girls but the girls were much faster.

They hopped over to creature's tail and ran towards the Knights. But the Knights noticed them. They flew towards the girls ready to fight.

Applejack turned her head and looked back. She gasped.

"Duck!!".

Grabbing the girls the fell to the floor, avoiding the tail of the Dragon that had almost hit them.

"Ahh!!!".

The girls looked up. They smiled. The dragon hit missed them but knocked the stormknights out. The men were in the floor outcold. The girls quickly hurried over to their shields and picked them up.

The three faced the ferocious black dragon.

"Never would ah imagine we'd be fight'n a dragon", Applejack said.

"Well there's first time for everything", Twilight said looking at the blonde.

"Watch out!!".

The girls dove out of the way. The dragon pound right where had been standing. Getting to their feet the girls readied themselves.

The dragon came at them. The girls used their swords to back the dragon up. Applejack jabbed at its tail. The beast let out a roar that echoed.

Suddenly a cry was heard. Applejack turned around. Thunderstorm was taking Rainbow's magic. The princess was screaming in pain.

Applejack ran towards them.

"Rainbow!!".

The blonde was suddenly knocked to the ground, her sword falling out of her hand. She fell to her knees. Looking up she saw the dragon lookimg down at her. She looking around for her sword. It laid just a few feet away. Looking up at the dragon she dove for her sword. The dragon dove right at her, it's mouth open wide, sharp teeth showing.

Applejack grabbed her sword and swung it just in time to cut the dragon's nose.

The dragon backed away growling in pain.

"I think you made it angry!!", Twilight called. She and Pinkie ran over to Applejack.

"Ya think??"

The beast roared, it's eyes flared. It flapped it's wings and looked at the girls.

"I have an idea!!", Applejack exclaimed.

She looked at the girls. They covered themselves when the dragin then decided to try and make them into roasted chicken.

"GREAT!!. NOW IT BREATHES FIRE!!", Applejack yelled angrily.

"SO WHAT THE PLAN CAPTAIN??", Pinkie yelled.

"Distract it!!. I need to cut its head off!!".

The girls didn't question it and nodded. Running to another part of the room they waved their arms, getting the dragon's attention.

"Hey ugly!! Over here!!".

The dragon stomped over to them. That gave Applejack enough time to think. She saw the scales on the dragon. It looked like a staircase.

"Hmm".

"Only a few more moments princess!!".

Applejack turned and saw Rainbow. She could see that Rainbow's magic was almost gone. She had to hurry and no room mistakes.

Gathering all her courage she ran towards the dragon. Stepping on of its tail scales, she found that she could stand on it. The dragon had stopped moving. She hurried up onto the dragon's back. She prayed that the creature didn't see or feel her.

She hurried towards the head of the dragon. That's when her luck ran out. She had made it to the head. When the dragin took off the ground. Applejack wobbled as she tried to stay balanced.

If she fell then it would mean death for them all.

Applejack felt her heart stop when the dragon's head turned and looked right at her. The beast roared. The blonde hunter dodged the flames, not feeling like being burnt chicken.

"Please let it die", she whispered.

"Hey ugly!!".

The dragon's attention was turned away from Applejack for a moment.
Taking her sword Applejack slash it, cutting into its neck cleanly. The blade cut right through it, decapitating it. The head and the body fell to the ground. Applejack leaped off and onto the ground she watched the dragon's headless body fall with a loud thud!.

Applejack stood there catching her breath. She just killed the dragon.

"Ahh!!!".

Applejack suddenly remembered Rainbow. Turning and the girls ran full speed at Thunderstorm.

They crashed into him, sending him a few feet away. He sat up grinning.

"Too late tiny humans. Most of her power is mine".

Applejack stood up. Suddenly she was knocked to the ground.

"Ahh".

She fell onto her back. She let out a groan. Looking up saw Thunderstorm standing over her, his hand stretched out.

"Oh my", he said grinning.

"I'm more powerful than I thought".

"Applejack!!".

Twilight and Pinkie ran towards them to help her. Thunderstorm spotted them.

He blasted them with his magic sending them to the ground.

Applejack gasped and looked up at the man.

"Now". Thunderstorm turned to look at Applejack, a wicked look on his face. "Time to get rid of you once and for all!!".

"Not so fast", a voice said.

The two turned and gasped. Rainbow struggled to stand. She looked horrible. Her dress was torn, dirt covered her. Her face was red and she looked so weak. But what caught Thunderstorm's eye was the ball of light in her hands.

"You haven't taken all of my magic", Rainbow said taking deep breathes.

"This is enough to destroy you. This little bit of magic comes from the deepest part of my being".

Thunderstorm's eyes widened.

"You do that and it'll kill us both", he said.

Applejack stood up. She wouldn't.

Rainbow smiled. "Better both of us be destroyed than for the destruction of Avalen".

Looking at Applejack a tear rolled down her cheek.

"I love you Applejack".

With that she released all of the energy in that ball of magic and through it at Thunderstorm hitting him dead on.

"NOOO!!".

A light filled the room, blinding the girls. They covered their eyes and looked away. It faded and the room was dark once again. Applejack looked up.

Thunderstorm was dead. The blonde looked up. She gasped.

Rainbow laid on the floor, not moving.

Applejack got up, dropping her sword and ran over to the girl. She dropped to her knees.

"No".

She let out a shaky breath.

"Rainbow. Please no".

Reaching a hand out she touched Rainbow's cheek. Tears spilled over. The hunter bowed her head and sobbed.

Twilight and Pinkie walked over to her and kneeled down. Pinkie cried on Twilight's shoulder. The purple haired girl hugged her.

Through her tears Applejack looked down at Rainbow. She gently picked her up in her arms. Rainbow's head rested limply against her chest.

Applejack looked down at her. Closing her eyes tightly, tears ran down her tan cheeks.

"Ah love you too".

Suddenly Applejack felt movement. Opening her eyes she saw Rainbow's head move slowly. The blonde gasped.

"Girls", she called.

Her friends looked up. Applejack watched as Rainbow's eyes fluttered open. Rainbow blinked a few times before realized her surroundings. She looked up at Applejack and smiled.

"Again", she said, her voice scratchy and weak. "You're there right when I need you. I knew you'd save me".

Applejack smiled a watery smile. She smiled down at Rainbow and helped her sit up.

Rainbow suddenly started to cough violently. She didn't look too good.

"We need ta getcha home".

Applejack looked at Twilight and Pinkie. The girls were smiling. They helped Applejack stand up. She held Rainbow in her arms. Rainbow looked around weakly.

"Woah. Did you guys kill that dragon??", Rainbow asked.

The girls laughed lightly.

"Well technically Applejack killed it", Pinkie said smiling.

Applejack looked around.

"Let's get out of here".

The hurried out of the dark room. They snuck past guards that had no idea of what had occurred moments ago and ran out of the entrance. The girls looked around.

"Rainbow!!!".

The girls looked up. They saw the king and the guards flying towards them. The king landed in front of Applejack. He looked down at his daughter, tears of joy running down his face. He lightly touched her cheek.

"Hi dad", Rainbow smiled at the man.

"She's sick", Applejack said.

"It must be the fumes in the air. She needs ta get home quickly".

"But how??", Twilight asked. "The castle is two days away.

"Not if you're flying".

"Huh??".

The group looked up. They saw pegasi flying towards them. Lord Flight was with them.

Landing he hurried over to them.

"You have the princess", he said overjoyed.

"Flight", the king said. "I've never been more glad to see you".

Lord Flight nodded. "Hop on girls".

The teens were lifted onto their pegasi. Sunrise was overjoyed to see Applejack.

"It's good ya see you too", she laughed.

The pegasi took off into the sky. They soared across the sky faster than they've ever gone with them on. Applejack looked at Twilight and Pinkie. The girls smiled at eachother tiredly.

"Well. That was a fun adventure, don't cha think??".

The girls laughed. Applejack looked down at Rainbow in her arms.

"Just hang on Rainbow".

Rainbow nodded and snuggled into her embrace. Applejack looked up at the distance they had to go.
