Applejack got up bright and early the next morning. She bathed and brushed her hair, her hat on as usual.

She made sure all her hunting gear she needed was with her.

She was always prepared. Sharpening her arrows and blades. She did a few test runs. When she was satisfied she sharpened them again.

Applejack ate a good breakfast with her friends. Oatmeal with some fruit. Applejack told them stories of her past hunting experiences.

"The beast was massive. Could probably kill a man with one jab to the head. That's why it's always good ta be fast and light-footed".

Twilight rolled her eyes.

"You've told us that like a hundred time already".

Applejack nodded.

"Well anyways, long story short I killed it and we had it fir dinner, remember??".

The girls nodded. Applejack stood up.

"Well. Ah think we should head out while it's mornin".

Pinkie jumped up with excitement grabbing her bag.

"Yay!!. Come on".

The girls got their gear and they set out. The woods was a good 10 minutes from their home village so it wasn't a far walk.

The woods had many, many large, shady, trees. Birds were calling to eachother. A soft breeze flew by the girls.

Applejack looked around. She took out her bow and arrow. They found a nice sturdy tree.

"I'll set a trap up here", Applejack said looking up. She took off her bag and put it on the ground. It landed with a soft thud.

Applejack carefully began to climb the tree. She skillfully scaled up to a good spot. She set up a net.

Looking down at Twilight and Pinkie they gave her a thumbs up. She was good to go. Climbing down she landed on her feet.

"There, all set. Well........ almost".

Applejack did a few tinkering here and there. She set up a line, that when pulled, triggered the net. She was good at this stuff and everyone in town knew it.

"Come on. Let's stay and set up a few more traps", Twilight suggested.

"Good idea", Applejack said.

They went around a good distance between, setting up traps.

They hung out for a while.

"So, when do you think we'll catch something??", Pinkie asked.

"Not sure Pinkie", Applejack answered.

"We just gotta be quiet and patient. No doubt some poor sucker's gunna wind up in one of the traps. Or better yet, fall in love with me if it's a fairy".

The group laughed. Suddenly they heard a crash echo. One of the traps!!.

With a laugh Applejack stood up.

"Let's see what fir dinner".

Picking up her bag and bow an arrow they hurried to see what animal they caught this time. They ran through the forest, the sound of leaves and twigs crunching underneath their shoes. The girls jogged, not really in a hurry. Whatever it was want going to get away.

When they reached the tree with the net trap they stopped in their tracks. They couldn't believe it. Applejack raised an eyebrow. This was not what she was expecting at all.

'So much fir dinner', she thought.
