"This darkness is drivin' me nuts", Applejack groaned.

They had took a rest for the night but was back on track the next day. Or so......they thought. Since the forest was so dark and there wasn't any sunlight, they couldn't tell what time of the day it was.

Applejack looked at Twilight and Pinkie. The girls looked bored. Twilight sighed.

"How long until we get there??", she asked.

"Not much longer Ah hope", Applejack replied.

The teen led them th rough the dark. Suddenly she stopped, causing the others bump into her.

"What is it??", Pinkie asked, rubbing her forehead.

Applejack pointed.

"We're here".

There stood a large castle. It looked alot like the palace back at the light side of Avalen but dark. Applejack noticed that there were guards at the entrance.

"Rainbow has gotta be here", she said quietly.

Suddenly she heard coughing. Turning around, she saw the king coughing into his arm.

"Are you alright your highness??", one of the guards asked worriedly.

The king nodded. "There's something in the air. Thunderstorm probably has made this land with fumes in the air. These fumes are harmful to fairies. Not enough to make them die but enough to make them very sick. Me and him discovered this when we were young. My father had made sure that there would always be a elixir to cure the sickness".

The king stopped talking when a cough escaped his mouth.

"You should stay here", Applejack said.

"No. I can't stay".

"You can't go". Applejack kneeled down.

"The best thing you can do fir Rainbow is ta stay here where you're safe. Me and the gals will find Rainbow and get her out. We'll fave your brother if we have ta. I'll bring her home".

The king smiled tiredly. "I know you will".

Applejack looked back at the guards at the entrance.

"We'll need a distraction", she thought out loud.

"We could do it", one of the guards said.

Applejack nodded.

"Okay. Just get them far away from the castle until we get inside. But be careful. We don't want you ta get hurt".

"Trust us. We'd die if it meant saving the princess. We'll do our best".

Applejack nodded. She stood up, sword ready.

"Then let's go".

Twilight and Pinkie stood by her. Two guards flew out into the open, but away from where the others where hiding.

The stormknights noticed them.

"Hey!!".

They chased after them.

"Now".

The three girls ran towards the castle and ran in.

"So far so good", Applejack said quietly.

The three entered the dark castle. The castle was exactly like Rainbow and her family's castle, but scary. It was dark and cold. Torches were on the walls, being the only light for the human teens. The girls had goosebumps on their arms from the cold.

Applejack took out her sword. They carefully walked through the hall.

"Wait", Twilight said suddenly making the girls halt to a stop.

They heard footsteps.

"Hide", Pinkie whispered.

They hurried over to a dark corridor and pressed themselves on to it. The footsteps got louder. Two Stormknights walked past. The girls held their breath.

"So master Thunderstorm finally caught the princess", one of the stormknights said. They could hear the smirk in his tone.

The girls listened to their conversation, on edge and ready to fight if they were spotted.

"Yeah. The little girl will be dead by the end of the day. Either she'll die of the fumes that master Thunderstorm released into the air or he'll kill her just like he planned".

Applejack had to put a hand over her mouth. Thunderstorm was going to kill her. Looking at the girls, she saw they had horrified looks on their faces as well. They knew they had to hurry and get her out of there.

"But he has a plan to take over the kingdom, but the brat needs to be alive for it to work. Of coarse she'll die because of it. She'll be dead and we won't have to be stuck in this horrid place once Thunderstorm takes over Avalen".

The footsteps started again. The dark fairies walked away. The girls.didnt say anything in fear of being heard.

Applejack looked at them. She motioned for them to follow her. The girls quietly but quickly hurries out of the hall and into a new. Applejack looked around.

"How are we going to find her??. This place is huge".

Twilight stopped and thought.

"Maybe we could check for a dungeon", she suggested.

Applejack nodded. "She's gotta be here somewhere".

Rainbow coughed violently into her hand. Her throat burned from all the coughing she had done. Rainbow felt very weak. She felt terribly sick. She didn't know where the sudden sickness had come from but she knew it wasn't good.

Suddenly she heard the door open. Looking up she her uncle walk in.

"Please. Im sick. I need some medicine" she begged.

The princess shivered in the cold stone cell room.

Thunderstorm laughed.

"As if I cared if you're sick or not. You'll be dead by midnight tonight anyway".

Rainbow looked at up at him in disbelief. This wasn't the man she knew as a little girl. That man never existed. He had always hated her but now he had the perfect way to get rid of her.

"What are you going to do with me??", she asked weakly.

"I think you deserve to know", Thunderstorm smirked.

"I'm going to drain the magic inside of you. Did you know that you have a very powerful magic of light in you??. It's very powerful, and with it I can finally be strong enough to take over Avalen and take what should have been mine a long time ago".

"And how do you plan to take my magic??", she asked.

"So very curious". Thunderstorm laughed.

"The full moon if tonight. When it reached its highest peak I will be strong enough to take take it out myself".

Rainbow thought about that for a moment. He really had thought this threw. Or maybe not. Applejack must be here. If she was then Thunderstorm didn't know. So her friends could save her. They at least had a chance.

"My, you don't look so good", Thunderstorm taunted.

Rainbow's face was pink. She felt as if she had a fever. She was shaking from the cold and felt weak, and her throat burned from coughing. To sum it up, she was sick.

"I guess my fumes work just the way I wanted it to. So you may suffer on your last day alive".

Rainbow coughed in to her elbow. She looked up at him. The man just turned away and walked out.

"I'll have my men come get you when it's time".

Rainbow flinched at the sound of the locking door. Once again she was alone. Laying down the sick princess coughed. She sighed.

"I hope you're here guys. Please hurry".
