Applejack woke to a scream. She shot up and looked around.

"Help!!".

Applejack gasped. She got out of bed and grabbed her sword. She ran out of the room and down to Rainbow's bedroom. She noticed the door was locked. She heard muffled yelling coming from the other side.

"Come on princess", a male voice said.
"Stop struggling. You're not gunna get away this time".

Applejack stood up. She gave the door a powerful kick. It broke off its hinges. Applejack broke the door open and ran in. She saw Rainbow in the arms of a man. He looked at Applejack.

"Let. Her. Go!!".

The man grinned.

"Thunderstorm will be pleased to know that there are humans in Avalen".

He looked down at Rainbow.

"Trust me princess", he said. "Thunderstorm will get you".

Applejack ran at him, just missing him as he jumped out of the open glass window and flew away into the night. Applejack stood there for a moment, watching the man disappear into the night sky, heading straight to the forbidden forest.

Applejack dropped her sword and turned to Rainbow, who was sitting on the floor.

"Rainbow".

The teen looked up at Applejack. She stood up and hugged her.

"Are you okay??".

"What happened??".

Applejack and Rainbow turned around. They saw the king standing there with the guards.

"Someone came into my room and tried to kidnap me", Rainbow said.

Everyone gasped.

"But Applejack scared him off".

The king laughed.

"Again. You're right there when she needs you", the king said.

Applejack looked at Rainbow. She pulled her in for a hug.

"Are you sure you're alright??".

Rainbow nodded.

"I-I fine. Just a bit shaken up. Didn't expect that".

The king frowned.

"It was a stormknight. I am sure of it".

The man walked over to the girls. He hugged Rainbow.

"We're going to have guards with you whenever you leave the castle".

He looked at Applejack.

"Thank you. Please, let's all go downstairs for some hot chocolate. It's chilly outside and I think we all need some".

The girls smiled at eachother. Hot chocolate seemed good right about now.

Applejack sipped her hot chocolate and stared at the fireplace. The fire cracked and popped.

"Hey".

Applejack turned around and saw Rainbow standing there with a mug in her hand. The princess smiled and walked over to her friend.

The two sat down by the fireplace. Applejack glanced over at her. She noticed Rainbow looked at bit nervous. She couldn't blame her. She had almost been kidnapped in the middle of the night.

"Twilight and Pinkie went back to bed", Rainbow suddenly said.

"Well, it is the middle of the night", Applejack said.

Rainbow laughed. She sipped her cocoa. She looked at Applejack.

"Thank you. Again, you save me when I need you. How do you do it??".

Applejack laughed. "Ah honestly wish ah knew".

Rainbow smiled shyly.

"Well however you do it, you do a great job at it".

Applejack gave a nod.

"Well ah will never let anyone hurt you".

Rainbow and Applejack finished their chocolate and out their now empty mugs down.

Applejack wrapped an arm around her waist. Rainbow leaned her head on the teen's chest. In minute Rainbow was asleep.

Applejack could heard her soft  breathing. Smiling she carefully shifted her so she could pick her up. The blonde carried the princess out of the room and walked down the hall. She passed through the hall, not making a sound.

Opening Rainbow's door she walked in, closing the door with her foot. Walking over to the bed, she laid Rainbow down and tucked her in.

She turned to leave.

"Applejack??".

Applejack turned at her name. Rainbow was awake, looking at her.

"Please stay with me", Rainbow said. She sounded like a child afraid of the dark.

Applejack kicked off her shoes and climbed in. She laid down next to the rainbow haired princess.

"Goodnight".

Applejack closed her eyes. She suddenly felt a kiss on her cheek. Opening her eyes she looked at Rainbow. The girl was snuggled against her.

Rainbow laid her head on Applejack's chest. Applejack smiled and closed her eyes and fell asleep.
