Friday rolled around. Applejack looked in the mirror. She looked presentable. The two had decided to go to the park together and relax.

Applejack grabbed her bag. She had a surprise for Rainbow Dash in it. She found something that she knew Rainbow would like to have back.

Getting in her car she drove on down to Rainbow's house. The day was fairly cool. Not warm enough leave without a jacket on, but warm enough to not catch a cold. Applejack came to Rainbow's house. Getting out of the car, she walked up to the door and rang the doorbell.

A minute later it opened. Rainbow stood there, grinning. She opened the door. Rainbow was wearing Applejack's sweater that she gave her the week before.

"Hey AJ", she said.

Applejack gave a wave and a smile.

"Ready??".

Rainbow nodded. She walked out and locked the door. The two got into the car and drove on down to the park.

Getting out Rainbow looked around. Empty. Perfect. She grabbed Applejack's hand and dragged her to the swing set.

"I love the park!!".

Applejack smiled. They spent a while on the swing set, laughing and Rainbow shouting lyrics she didn't know she knew, and goofing off.

At some point Rainbow fell off the swing and landed on her back. Applejack rushed to her aid.

"You alright??", she asked.

Rainbow nodded, rubbing her head.

"Yeah. I'm good. My head hurts now".

Applejack took her hands.

"Want me to kiss it better??".

Rainbow nodded, pouting. Applejack smiled and gave her a peck on the forehead.

"All better".

Rainbow smiled at her. The girls sat down by a tree. Well technically it was Applejack sitting with Rainbow on her lap. The smaller teen had her head reasting on Applejack's shoulder, her arms around her.

Applejack smiled. She suddenly remembered the item she brought for Rainbow.

"Hey RD. I gotta surprise for ya", she said. Rainbow got of her lap and sat in front of her.

Applejack reached into her bag and pulled out a tiny long box. She opened it. Rainbow gasped. She out her hands to her mouth. She looked at Applejack in shock. Slowly reaching a hand out she took out a gold necklace.

"Oh my gosh. I........ I don't know what to say. Thank you".

Rainbow felt tears rise up.

Applejack smiled. "Ah found it in your house when ah slept over a few weeks ago. I must've put it in mah bag and firgot about it until yesturday. Ah know how much this means to ya".

It was true. This golden necklace was the one of the only things Rainbow had left of her mother. She had it from her as a gift when she was younger. She was devastated and heart broken when she lost it. The girl was so upset she use to cry whenever she saw a necklace. She had gotten over it but had still been upset about losing he most prized possession.

Rainbow looked at Applejack. The blonde put it on her with a smile. Rainbow smiled at the item around her neck.

"Words aren't big enough to thank you for this. This is amazing. Thank you".

Rainbow hugged Applejack and didn't let go for a while. Applejack didn't mind it. She enjoyed the physical affection from the other girl. Rainbow wasn't a hugger but this was an exception. Finally Rainbow pulled away, smiling like crazy.

"You're the best".

Applejack grinned. "Ah know".

Rainbow smacked her arm playfully.

"Hey. Only I can say that. I'm twenty percent cooler than you".

Applejack raised her hands in surrender.

"Okay. You win".

Rainbow giggled. Applejack laughed. She wrapped her arms around Rainbow's waist. The other girl snuggled up to her.

Suddenly they heard laughing. They turned and saw a group of teens from their school. Applejack looked at Rainbow Dash. She looked uncomfortable with the laughing.

"Ew!! Fag disease got to you!!", one yelled.

"What are you??. Six??", a voice said.

The girls turned their heads. They smiled. There friends were there and they did not look happy. The teens stopped laughing.

"If you don't like it, leave!!", Rarity said. "They're not going anywhere, so goodbye".

Applejack looked back at the other teens. They said something and looked at the couple. Applejack, without Rainbow seeing, flipped them off smiling. The bullies turned and left without another word.

The girls walked over to the pair.

"You girls alright??", Twilight asked, worriedly they might have been hurt.

"We're okay", Rainbow said smiling.

Applejack nodded. "Yeah. Thanks".

"No problem darling. They needed a good talk to", Rarity said. "So sorry about your date being ruined".

Rainbow smiled. "It wasn't ruined at all. This was the best first date ever!!".

Applejack's eyes widened. "Really??".

Rainbow nodded. "Yup". Suddenly her attention was in somethingse "Ooooh look!!!. Can we play in the leaves?", she asked.

Applejack got up. "Sure. C'mon ya'll".

The girls ran to the piles of leaves. Rainbow jumped right in, laughing. She sat up smiling. Applejack grabbed her and picked her up. Rainbow held onto her as the blonde spun her around.

"Wheeeee".

Applejack smiled. The girls had so much fun, playing in the colorful leaves.

Soon the other girls decided to leave.

"You two enjoy yourselves", Rarity said. "Applejack, bring her to my house later safe and sound. Understand??".

Applejack smiled and nodded. "Ah will".

"If you need us again, call one of us".

The girls left and it was just the two of them. Rainbow looked at Applejack.

"So. Now what??".

Applejack smiled. "Ah have an idea".

She tool Rainbow by the hand. Leading her to a tree she sat down. Rainbow sat beside her. Applejack opened her bag and took out a book.

"Ah gotcha uh book from Twi's library", she said.

Rainbow took the book from her and looked at it. She smiled.

"This was my favorite as a kid. It still is".

Rainbow looked at Applejack.

"You're amazing".

Applejack smiled and wrapped an arm around her waist.

"Ah know, now let's read. You wanna read??".

Rainbow shook her head. "You read to me".

Applejack smiled and gave a nod. She took the book and opened it. The blonde enjoyed reading cat in the hat to Rainbow. Rainbow would smile and giggle at the words. Her beautiful smile never left her face.

"Should we tell er about it??. Now, what should we do??. Well.... What you do if your mother asked YOU??".

Applejack closed the book with smile. She looked over at Rainbow Dash. The teen was smiling fondly.

"The end".

Rainbow clapped. "I love Dr.Suess".

Applejack smiled. She looked up.

"Cmon. Ah wanna take you somewhere. It ain't far. We can get quickly with ah car".

The two walked to the Applejack's car. The blonde drove to a hill nearby. Rainbow smiled. They got out of the car. Applejack took her hand. They walked over to a tree and sat down.

"It's beautiful", Rainbow sighed.

A beautiful sunset was starting. Applejack smiled at her.

"Not as beautiful as your smile".

Rainbow blushed. Applejack wrapped an asround her waist. Rainbow laid her head on Applejack's chest. They stayed and watched the sunset and even took a few pictures. It was amazing.

"You know", Rainbow said.

"I was a bit scared that I had said yes to going out with you", she admitted.

Applejack looked at her. "Why??".

Rainbow shrugged. "I've never dated anyone before. I'm not sure how this is gunna turn out".

Applejack smiled. "Rainbow".

Rainbow looked at her, biting her lip.

"Let's not worry about that right now. Let's just watch the sunset".

Rainbow smiled and snuggled into her.

"I think I'm gunna like dating you", she said. "And then being your girlfriend is gunna be awesome".

Applejack laughed. She ran her hand through Rainbow's hair gently.

"Ah think so too".

The couple watched the sunset, happy to be in eachother's arm. This was one of the MANY perfect moments to come. The start of true love.
