Rainbow's POV:

Walking up the steps I could feel my heart racing.

I walk in, greeted by the guards.

"Right this way my lady", one said.

I smile and follow him down a hallway. Two gaurds open up double doors to the main ballroom

I walk out to the top of the staircase.

"Woah".

I looked at all those people. Both royal and not royal. But since they were all wearing masks I couldn't tell.

One things for sure, noone will know who I am. Not even the princess.

Suddenly everything stopped. My eyes went wide when I realized they were looking at me.

Just get down and try not to trip.

I slowly walk down the stairs. I held on to the rail. When I got to the bottom I looked around awkwardly. Everybody was still looking at me. I heard whispers around me.

I look in front of me and see someone coming towards me. As she got closer I realized who it was. Applejack.

She stood in front of me. I bowed.

"Your highness".

Her eyes went wide. I hope she doesn't recognize me. She bowed back. Reaching her arm out she asked, "May I have this dance your highness??".

Smiling I nod and take her hand. We walk to middle of the room. A felt a hand on my waist. Getting in position we began to dance.

I notice the stares as we waltzed around the room.

"It must feel weird having everyone stare at you".

She smiled and said. "Yes, but they're all looking at you this time".

What??. Why would be staring at me??. I'm not exactly beautiful.

It was almost magical dancing with her. I felt like I was floating on air. She was a great dancer. When the song ended she looked at me.

"Care to go out to the garden with me??", she asked.

I nod. We left the room and walked outside.

It was dark already and the stars were out, shining brightly.

"They're so beautiful", I say looking up in awe.

I looked at the Applejack to see her staring at me.

"Yes they are".

"How can you tell if you're not looking at them??", I ask.

"Your eyes twinkle brighter than any star in the sky. So I don't need ta look at the sky. I just look at your eyes and that's all I need".

I blush and look away. That was the most romantic thing I've ever heard.

"I want to show ya somethin".

The princess led me to a small door. She opened it and motioned me to go in.

Walking through my eyes widened. It was a secret garden. A swing hung from a sturdy tree.

"Woah".

"Ya like??".

I nod. "It's amazing".

"Thanks".

I look at the swing. It reminded me of when I was younger and my dad would push me on one that he made for my 5th birthday.

"Take a seat".

I look up at her. Was she serious??.

"Oh I couldn't".

"I insist. It's very strong so you won't fall, I promise you'll be safe".

Hesitantly I sat down. It felt nice.

"So your highness-".

"Please. You can call me Applejack", she interupted.

"Okay, Applejack. So where did all of this come from??".

Applejack sat down on the grass.

"My dad built it for me when I was younger. I've always loved it".

I smile. "That's sweet. What's he like??".

Applejack's eyes widened. "Noone has ever asked that before. He's kind, good-hearted, strong, very smart, loving. The best dad in the world".

I frowned and looked at the ground. I wonder what my dad would have been like if he was still alive. From what mom told me he was a good man that loved me alot. More than anyone in the world.

"Your highness??".

I look at Applejack. "Oh sorry. I must've zoned out. What did you say??".

Applejack looked concerned. "I said are you alright. You look kinda upset".

"I'm fine. Really".

Sighing I stood up. Applejack looked at me weird.

"I've actually been waiting fir you to come".

"Really??", I ask.

She nodded. She probably knows what I look like but with my mask covering most of my face she can't tell.

"What's your name??".

Suddenly I heard the clock chime. It's midnight!!

"I'm sorry, I have to go", I say in a rush.

I run out of the small garden.

"Wait!!", I hear.

I turned around. Applejack stood there.

"I'm sorry. I have to go. It's complicated".

I run down the path and towards the castle. I look behind me and see Applejack running after me. Great.

Running into the castle I weave through the crowd.

"Wait!!".

I didn't turn around. I'm sure I got alot of stares but I didn't notice. I had to get out of there.

I turn a corner and bump into someone. My heart dropped when I saw the king.

"Forgive me your majesty. I'm very sorry. Your daughter is very kind and the nicest person I've ever met. She loves you very much. Goodbye!!".

I turn and run down the hall and out of the entrance. I saw Pinkie and Fluttershy. They were telling me to hurry up. I
As I ran down the stairs one of my shoes came off.

"Are you serious?!!".

I turn around and saw Applejack coming down.

Forget the shoe!!

I turn and hurry to the limo.

"Go go go!!", I yell at Gus and spike as I slammed the door close.

We sped off . I look back and see coaches coming after us.

"What??!!".

I look at the girls. They were turning back to their bird forms.

Out of the window I could see streets flying by. We were probably way over the speed limit but no police didn't see us. Thank Celestia for magic.

We were almost home when I saw the limo turn back into a pumpkin. In seconds in went from ball gown to rags.

Me and the others were sitting on the road.

I stand up, holding Spike and Gus in my hands.

"At least we lost em".

I look at my feet and saw I was only wearing one glass slipper. I took it off and put in my apron pocket.

Everything was back to normal. Except me.

I think I've fallen in love with the princess.

"Best night ever".
