Beauty and the Beast part 9
So yeah. Sorry for the loooong wait. Writers block is annoying and irritating. So, I've decided to do sort of a redo of the last chapter but with a song from the movie. Since I noticed there aren't many songs in my beauty and the beast fanfic. I hope you don't mind a song :) enjoy!
Travier looked around seriously at the assembly crew, hands behind his back. He paced back and forth, a serious expression in his face. His audience, every magical item in the castle, watched him silently, waiting to see what he would say.
"Alright, everyone", he said in a tone similar to an army general.
He stopped and stood facing them. He held up a tiny stick of some sort in his "hand". He used it to tap the thick glass case that protected the enchanted rose.
"We have precisely 24 hours till the spell lasts forever. That means we have 24 hours to create the most romantic and magical night known to man-".
Travier stopped himself, realizing what he said.
"Or uh..... beast.... AND guarantee that the mistress and Applejack fall in love before this rose......".
He tapped the glass case twice.
"Loses its last pedals".
"Oooo." Mrs.Pot suddenly cooed excitement in her glass eyes. "This is it everyone. Our last night as objects and if we succeed, we'll be human again."
"Spread out and get to work." Travier ordered. "You all know your jobs. Now get to it. We haven't a moment to lose."
It a whoosh of a wind, every..... um.... thing..... was gone, rushing off to get right to work.
Mrs.Pot, Runsworth, and Travier came together, smiling.
"Can you believe it??." Runsworth said, astonished himself. "We really might be able to break the curse and be human again."
"Human again."
They all stood there, stuck in a daydream, a smile in their faces.
"Ahhh human again." They all sighed in perfect sync.
Runsworth smiling at his long time friends.
"Do you know what that mean??." He asked.
Oh they knew.
Song time :D
Runsworth grinned and lit up one of his candles for hands.
"I'll be cooking again. Be good looking again."
He grabbed Mrs.Pot and the feather duster that was once his girlfriend, also a maid at the castle, named Fifi, and pulled them close to him.
"With a mademoiselle on each arm."
He zipped over to Travier. He stood behind him, "hands" in his arm, grinning and looking at him.
"When I'm human again. Only human again."
Runsworth fogged up the glass that is Travier's stomach, and polished the glass till it shone.
"Poised and polished and gleaming with charm."
He gave a dashing smile at his reflection. Travier had an annoyed look on his face.
Runsworth went up to Fifi who stood close by, smile. Be scooped up the feather duster in his arms, making her giggle.
"I'll be courting again."
He grinned at her.
"Chic and sporting again."
Mrs.Pot chuckled.
"Which should cause sev'ral husbands alarm!." She sang in amusement.
Runsworth smiled at the used to be woman and released Fifi. He took a hop, gleaming with pride.
"I'll hop down off the shelf, and toute suite be myself."
He picked up Mrs.Pot and in his brass arms and they spun around.
"I can't wait to be human again."
The laughed as they danced around before they all scattered to get to work.
In the ballroom, brooms and dusters were hard at work, the brooms were in pairs. They went around the ballroom floor, spinning in pairs as if they were dancing.
"When we're human again" They chorused. "Only human again. When we're knickknacks and whatnots no more."
The windows were being cleaned and the chandeliers were dusted.
"When we're human again. Good and human again."
"Aw Cherie. Won't that just be top drawer." The wardrobe in Applejack's room, we'll just call her Wardrobe, sang out.
Wardrobe looked in the vanity mirror and grabbed a tube of a lipstick and applied it.
"I'll wear lipstick and rouge, and I won't be so huge."
She turned and looked at the bedroom door.
"Why, I'll easily slip through that door!."
Wardrobe twirled around, draping the curtains around her like a dress.
"I'll exude savior-faire. I'll wear gowns, I'll have hair! It's my prayer to be human again!."
Wardrobe twirled away from the window, bringing the curtains down with her, breaking the part of the wall where the curtains rods were.
--
In the stables outside, Mrs.Pot, Travier, and Runsworth were busy with the shovels and such, cleaning out the stables and the shoveling the snow.
Mrs.Pot, Runsworth and Travier stood on the gate of the stable.
"When we're human again." They harmonized. "Only human again. When the world once more starts making sense."
"I'll wind down for a change." Travier sang
Runsworth chuckled and looked at him.
"Really?? That's be strange."
Travier rolled his eyes.
"Can I help it if I'm-."
His froze up, the hands on his clock belly getting stuck.
"T-t-tense?."
He relaxed, getting himself back together. He smiled.
"I'll shack up by the shack. I'll sit back, sipping tea. Let my early retirement commence!"
Travier opened up the little door on his stomach that was half filled with water, letting the water run out. Runsworth stood there, smiling, imagining it himself.
Travier closed his door. He smirked at Runsworth, picking up a small white rag. He tossed it on top of Runsworth's candle head, putting out his flames.
"Far from fools made of wax."
Runsworth took off the rag and glared at Travier.
"I'll get down to brass tacks, and relaaaax!!."
Travier felt a painful whip on where his bottom would be. The force made him fall forward and into a nearby bucket of water.
Runsworth stood there, arms crossed and smirking, happy with himself.
"When I'm human again", a chorus sang.
Back in the castle, the others were hard at work. Brooms sweeped the floor and towels were folded and things moved around and mirrors were cleaned.
"So sweep the dust from the floor."
They pulled off the dark torn curtains off the windows, sunlight flooding the always dark fireplace room.
"Let's let some light in the room."
A small foot cushion that was once Chip and Mrs.Pot's dog, ran around, folded up and stacked towels in its back, following a walking coatrack.
"I can feel, I can tell. Someone might break the spell any day now!!"
A chair holding a white rag hopped up to a door and wiped the doorknob.
"Shine up the brass in the door."
A dustpan and broom went around, cleaning up the piles and piled of dust and dirt off the marble floor.
"Alert the dustpan and broom. If it all goes as planned, our time may be at hand, any day now."
In Rainbow's room, the master bedroom, the dusters, were hard at work, putting in new bedsheets and cleaning the floor and windows.
"Open the shutters and let in some air." The feather dusters sang, the large, windows swinging open, a much needed breeze flowing in.
Mrs.Pot stood by, instructing other items with a smile.
"Put these here, and put those over there."
Suddenly a line of brooms, sweeping up dust came out of nowhere like a herd.the dust covered Mrs.Pot. The dusters sweeped up the many feet worth of dust out of the room to the balcony.
"Sweep up the years of sadness and tears and throw them away!."
They sent the dust raining down off the balcony. A unsuspecting Travier was standing at that same spot in the snow below. He was covered in dust and dirt. The shovels swept him up and away with the snow.
Back in the ballroom again, the mops were cleaning up the floor, dancing around in pairs once more.
"When we're human again. Only human again. When the girl finally sets us all free."
They spun around and around, making the floor shine like it hasn't in years.
"Cheeks illumining again. We're assuming again. We'll resume our long lost joie the vivre."
Knight armor stood in line, polishing their helmets.
"We'll be playing again. Holidaying again, and we're praying it's ASAP."
All the objects were rushing around, cleaning and polishing and wiping up dirt and washing.
"Little push, little shove. They could whoosh! Fall in love, then we'll finally be human again."
As all this was going on, unaware of the activity around the castle, Rainbow Dash and Applejack sat in the dining room.
Applejack smiled as she read the book in her hands.
"There never was a story of more wore than this of Juliet and her Romeo."
She closed the book with a sigh. Rainbow sat beside her, arms crossed, resting her chin on them, a smile on her face.
"That was great." She sighed.
She lifted her head. "Read it again, please?." She requested. "I love it when you read."
Applejack smiled at her. She had loved that Rainbow was interested in books like her. Some days she and Rainbow would curl up by the fire and she'd read to Rainbow Dash all day long until her eyes hurt.
It was nice to have someone share her interest in reading and not shun her for it.
Applejack sat up. She held out the book.
"Why don't you read ta me??. She asked, handing Rainbow the book.
Rainbow's smile fell. She had an uncertain look on her face.
"Um..... okay." She said, although sounding quite unsure of herself
She opened to the first page. She looked at the words. It all looked difficult.
She sighed in defeat.
"I can't." She said, slouching in embarrassment.
Applejack frowned. "Ya mean ya never learned??."
That was so sad. Applejack couldn't imagine a child not being taught how to read. It was very important to know. Which made her wonder what kind of childhood Rainbow had.
Rainbow looked at her.
"I learned.... a little."
She shrugged. "It's just been years since I picked up a book."
Applejack felt sorry for her. She decided this was a perfect opportunity to help Rainbow.
"Here." She said, taking the book and setting it down on the table.
She opened up to the first page.
"Let's start at the beginnin and ah'll help ya."
Rainbow felt relieved that Applejack didn't laugh at her like she'd thought. She felt her heart flutter at the attention Applejack gave her. It made her feel special. She looked down at the page and began to read.
"Tuh" She pronounced.
"Two." Applejack corrected gently.
Rainbow pouted for a moment. "I knew that."
Applejack smiled at her. "Ah know." She lied.
Rainbow smiled back and then kept reading.
"Two households...."
While they spent the day reading, the castle was still booming with activity. Outside the castle, windows were washed, statues cleaned and polished. They sang all together, like a opera choir.
"We'll be dancing again. We'll be twirling again. We'll be whirling around with such ease."
They planted flowers in the gardens and put in new trees.
"When we're human again. Only human again. We'll go waltzing those old 123's."
The shrubs were sculpting into shapes of animals such as rabbits and sucks and swans.
"We'll be floating again. We'll be gliding again. Step and striding as wide as we please."
Runsworth smiled at the amazing work they all had done.
"Like a real human does. I'll be all that I was."
The center fountain began to shoot crystal clear water again. All the household objects stood outside stood the beautiful fountain, singing as one.
"On that glorious morn', when we're finally reborn. When we're all of us human...... AGAIN!!."
Wardrobe stood on the balcony, her powerful opera voice ringing out. She jumped off, falling towards the fountain's surprisingly wide and deep waters.
Everyone/everything saw her coming down and ran, scattering, not wanting to get wet.
Runsworth and Travier tripped over each other and fell. They looked up and gulped, knowing they had no time. They covered their heads as Wardrobe cannonballed in to the water, creating a massive splash.
So yeah. So sorry for the not updating for a while. Writers block lol. But comment below your thoughts on this (if you still have this book in your library) and let me how I did with this chapter :)
