"You didn't have to wait around for me." I told Luke. He wandered around the store for twenty minutes looking at the computers and having no clue on how they worked too, but I assuming it was to pass time and be around me at the same time. Considering he kept sending shy smiles my way when I'd catch him looking at me.
"Sorry," Luke mumbled, stuffing his hands into his coat pockets. I took my small opportunity to glance at the blond and admire his sharp features. He's quite the looker and absolutely adorable. It amazes me how our complete opposite personalities and ways of life seemed to have meshed perfectly.
"Why are you sorry?"
"I'm too clingy," Luke shrugged, still not looking directly at me as we walked through the mall to eat at one of the best pizza palaces around. It was my idea and Luke seemed to think it was brilliant place to go as well. "You're probably getting annoyed by me always showing up. I just–never mind.."
I tugged on his arm to stop him from walking, glancing at his solum features I could tell a lot was running through his mind. "Talk to me."
"You know I don't have many friends... I've always been made fun of for being a bit behind on things."
"People are mean. I'm sorry you've had to deal with that." I said sincerely, though I frowned at his words and continued walking by his side and into the restaurant. We were seated at a booth almost instantly. As I stared across from me at the blond, I thought about what he had said earlier. Luke is the sweetest person I've come across and to know that people make fun of him for not being on top of things is sickening. Maybe at first I didn't see potential with being surrounded by Luke, but as the night went on I realized he was exactly what I needed in my life at the moment.
"This is my first date." Luke smiled shyly.
"Sorry it had to be with a loser like me." I joked, letting a light chuckle escape from my lips. Luke furrowed his eyebrows in confusion.
"You're definitely not a loser. I'm glad my first date is with someone who cared enough to show up and actually ask me questions about myself. The last two times I was asked out the guys stood me up. They made it into a joke." I stared at Luke with a shocked expression, astonished someone would think of messing with his heart like that. He's had to deal with too much shit from others. "But, you are the farthest from whatever you may think you are because I find you intriguing and kindhearted. And you actually agreed to this date and showed up." Luke smiled cheekily, reaching his arm across the table to intertwine our fingers.
"Luke," I breathed, glancing down at our hands and the feeling of my heart rate picking up and pounding harshly against my chest. "I think this is the start of something beautiful. Whether it's a friendship or this. I'll take whatever you're willing to share with me."
Luke's cheeks were coated pink at my declaration. "Well, firstly I'll share my pizza with you."
"Sounds absolutely perfect." I grinned.
