-chapter 4-

Taehyung smiled to himself as the bronze coated kettle glinted nicely from the light bleeding through the ivory curtains.

He hummed lowly to himself as his hands worked, knowing the routine of making tea for the shop well. Though he found himself hesitating every now and then, trying to remember the next step.

His smile widened just a bit as he felt a shadow fall over his right side, sensing a tall presence there as well.

Turning to meet the presence, his smile reached his eyes as he met Jeongguk's.

"Hi... I don't believe we've been formally introduced. I'm Jeongguk, though you probably know that from earlier." Jeongguk smiled tentatively, bunny teeth on full display.

The younger reached his hand out in greeting and Taehyung took it happily, shaking it gently as his bracelets jingled quietly with the gesture.

The feeling of each other's hand sent an electric current down the respective spines of both boys, surprising them slightly, causing them to not want to let go.

"Taehyung, nice to meet you Gguk, if I can call you that." The brunet said, the low, gentle voice being a perfect fit to the pretty face, Jeongguk thought.

"Pleasure is all mine, and you can call my Gguk if I can call you Tae." The ravenette answered playfully, causing the elder to laugh softly.

"It's a deal."

Both boys smiled, still not letting go of the others hand; completely unaware of the rest of the store-goers and workers.

"How is that tea coming along Mr. Kim?" Mr. Nam jokingly called out from his office, startling the two boys out of their stupor.

"G-good! Almost done!" Taehyung yelled back, a blush growing more and more on his face, a similar red to the shade Jeongguk was turning as well.

Taehyung turned away from the taller -much to both of their dismay- and finished making the tea, gathering the antique, jade tea set.

Taehyung had complained that it was silly to use such nice plate ware to make a simple cup of tea for Hoseok and he, but Mr. Nam had rejected this notion, stating that, "With that kind of thinking, it would be silly for me to still be up and kicking. Antiques aren't just for looking at." He had said with a smile.

Taehyung grinned at the memory, as if he were watching a sentimental moment play out on a TV show- feeling a sense of familiarity with the tea set; where it came from he wasn't sure, though.

Soon, he had poured all the tea, knowing exactly how each boy liked to take theirs; except Jeongguk of course.

Taehyung smiled, hesitating to pour the youger's tea so that he might strike up another conversation with him.

"Stay here for a moment, will you?" He asked Jeongguk, eyes shining with childlike excitement.

Jeongguk smiled and nodded dumbly, completely infatuated with the thrift store worker.

Taehyung nodded in response and gathered the tea set onto a tray, carrying over to where the rest of the group was situated.

"Here you are everyone." He said kindly, gently setting down everyone's plates and cups, placing a package of tea cookies down in the center of the small coffee table.

"Thank you!" The chorus of voices rang out, all eagerly grabbing at the cookies, all wanting the best of the bunch.

Taehyung giggled at the sight of his friends before turning back and almost skipping over to where a Jeongguk still stood.

"Sorry about that! I just wanted to ask how you liked to take your tea, didn't want to disturb the important conversation they were having." Taehyung said nervously, as Jeongguk's head turned towards the group across the room; both boys knowing full well there was not an important discussion going on as they all stuffed their faces.

Jeongguk, however, didn't seem to care one bit about this fact as he turned back to Taehyung, answering the query.

"I like it with one-"

"-sugar cube and a little bit of milk." Taehyung finished for him, already pouring the tea.

Jeongguk paused, his eyes widened like clouds moving out from in front of the moon, exposing the shining orb behind.

"How'd you know that"
"How did I know that"

The two boys spoke in unison, obviously surprising themselves once more.

Jeongguk laughed, trying to ease the tension a bit, but Taehyung was frozen, lost in thought.

How did he know that??

He was certain that he had never met Jeongguk before, no matter how comfortable he somehow felt around him. And he was doubly certain he had never made him tea before.

Jeongguk coughed, turning his head away but leaving his eyes on the smaller, hoping to shake him out of his thoughts.

Taehyung stirred, shuffling his feel awkwardly, as if he wasn't quite sure how this whole "standing" thing worked.

"Erm.. lucky guess?" He offered nervously.

Jeongguk could sense the hesitation in his voice and decided to let the anxious boy be, "Wow, you must really be a master at tea making! I can barely spell tea!" He laughed, trying to make a joke to ease the other's nerves. But he paused at the end of his last sentence, internally face palming.

He'd over done it a bit.

However, Taehyung seemed to enjoy this attempt at comedy quite a lot, losing his chill demeanor once more; snorting enough time to bring a few tears to his eyes.

Jeongguk froze for a few moments, not understanding how his 'head empty no thoughts' brain could've made the beauty before him laugh this hard. But the boxy smile on Tae's face made Jeongguk break into a squeaky laughter well.

Maybe it was nerves or the release of tension, but sooner or later both boys were clutching their stomachs in laughter, catching each other's eyes every now and then, causing them to launch back into their fit.

Across the room, the rest of the boys watched on in delight, enjoying their free comedy show.

"Well they're getting along quite nicely."
