In the shroud of an exceptionally dark night, Hoseok sat alone, his gaze fixed on the nocturnal expanse. His heart whispered assurances that his husband would return, yet his rational mind intervened harshly. How could he trust someone known for merely two or three days? Self-reproach engulfed him - a life spoiled, a colossal misjudgment. Was he merely used and discarded? Tears welled up again on the third day of waiting for the man who promised grand dreams. "Where are you?" he implored. "I know you love me. Please come back. Don't subject me to loneliness, akin to what my Appa and Eomma imposed." The desperation echoed - a plea for companionship. But the void persisted; the man never returned. Doubt gripped him - had he been betrayed, tossed away like refuse? His mind grappled for clarity - did he deceive me?

Hoseok.... With a shouting of that name Namjoon opened his eyes from a deep slumber, confusion clouding his vision. "Where am I?" he wondered aloud.

A familiar voice, tinged with sadness, called out, "Joon... Namjoon... Are you okay?" Hoseok struggled to adjust his vision and recognized the person - Jinni.

"Joon, thank God. You're alive, . Are you okay?" Another voice chimed in.

"Did he wake up?" yet another voice questioned.

"Yes, Uncle," Jin replied to Mr. Kim. "But uncle,

go out. Let me attend to him," Mr. Kim directed Jin.

As Jin reluctantly left, Mr. Kim approached Joon. "How are you, son?"

Confused, Joon asked, "What happened? Where is he?"

Mr. Kim smiled and motioned to the doctor.

"It's okay, baby." A syringe filled with medicine entered Joon's system, and he drifted into sleep.

"I'm sorry, my baby," Mr. Kim whispered. "Dad doesn't have any other way. Just sleep tight. Once you wake up, you will completely forget that boy." Mr. Kim kissed Joon's head, covered him with a duvet, and left the room.

Outside, Jin anxiously confronted Mr. Kim, "What's happening?

"He has had this medical condition since childhood," Mr. Kim admitted. "I didn't tell you. It's hard for you to accept him."

"No matter what happens, I will be with him," Jin declared. "But what condition? What's happening?"

Mr. Kim reassured him, "I will explain everything later. Just be with him. If he wakes up, inform me." He patted Jin's cheek and walked away.

In his cabin, Mr. Kim almost forgot everything, assuring the man in front of him, "He will forget everything about that particular period of time." The man was Kim Shiyuk, Mr. Kim's younger brother, a scientist inventing new medicines

after-effects? The doctor asked.

"He will forget everything for a period of time. That's it."

"What if he remembers that boy again?"

Shi... Kim calls his brother... "Go to Jin's house. Arrange their marriage for next Sunday. When Namjoon regains that memory, he must be Seokjin's husband. How dare he love a slum dog like that?" Mr. Kim clenched his teeth,

Shiyuk assured, "You don't worry, hyung. I will take care of everything."

Hoseok waited anxiously, his anticipation palpable. He chased every new vehicle entering the village and lingered for hours at the border, yearning for the man's return."What's happening, Hoseok? Are you okay?" inquired his father and the nuns. Unresponsive, Hoseok faced persistent questioning from his sister about his strange behavior, maintaining a stoic silence. After two weeks of relentless waiting, Hoseok decided to confine himself to his home, eschewing any ventures outside. Nestled in a corner, he embraced solitude, hugging himself tightly. During his sister and her husband's trip to the city for a medical checkup, she entrusted her children - a 14-year-old boy and a 10-year-old girl - to Hoseok's care. Despite their attempts to lift his spirits, Hoseok remained seated, resembling a lost soul adrift in his own world.

"Two months," the doctor solemnly informed the boy. "The child is not healthy, and you need to take care of yourself. If you don't want this child, we can consider abortion, but if you choose to keep it, prioritize your health."

Hoseok, still grappling with the memory of the man who betrayed him, stared at the doctor. Pressing his hand against his stomach, he questioned, "What should I do to ensure my baby's health?"

The doctor offered guidance, "I'll suggest some medicines and dietary changes. Exercise and mental well-being are crucial too. Your husband?"

"He's working abroad. Won't be back for another 5 years," Hoseok replied

"Okay," the doctor said, starting to prescribe medicines. "Come back in a month. If you need any help, just call me." The lady doctor smiled warmly at the expectant mother.

"Thank you," he murmured as he walked outside, knowing he had to face the myriad questions from everyone-whom, how, where. The uncertainty loomed, but one thing was certain: he would keep his baby. His eyes lingered on a picture of Baby Christ, nestled between his parents. "You won't leave Momma like others, will you?" he whispered, addressing his unborn child.

"I've waited all these years for this moment," Jin expressed, hugging his husband and shedding tear

"You loved me?" Joon asked in shock.

"More than my life. I was scared to tell you about this," Jin admitted.

"I never knew that. I thought you-ahh, leave it," Joon interrupted, hugging Jin back. "Don't cry. It hurts."

"I'm not, but why are you crying? Oh God, what happened, Joon?" Jin felt a pang when Joon's cry intensified. "Are you okay?"

"I don't know. It's hurting ... Please don't leave me alone." Joon sat on the floor, clutching his heart.

Jin checked Joon's pulse, finding it fine. "Do you want to go to the hospital? What's happening?" Jin grew anxious. "Let me call someone."

"No." Joon immediately grabbed Jin's hand. "Don't leave me. Please, don't leave me." He hugged Jin, seeking solace, and cried on his chest.

Guilt weighed heavily on Jin as he witnessed the tears streaming down the boy's face. Little did he know, those tears weren't solely for him-they were for someone else, someone who had vanished into the recesses of memory. The pain reflected in Joon's eyes spoke of a heart haunted by the echoes of a past that even Namjoon himself couldn't fully grasp.
