Chapter 2: A positive attitude
David, now Albert, was fully aware that if there was someone else in his situation even a person who had played the game, no scratch that especially someone who played the game, would have done things differently. Rather than slowly navigating the situation and getting used to, they would have actively contacted game characters, attended social events, or at least held an idea of how they would behave in the academy. However, he could do none of that. He did play and remember the game overall, and he was not someone who only focused on combat or dlcs, but even though handsome 2D characters were guilty, most of them behaved too gentle others too toxic or possessive. As a gay person in the closet, he very much fantasized about romance and a healthy relationship like heartstopper, so that was his problem. He did not focus that much and did not remember much. He only knew of the constant rule of the fantasy from his perspective. Gods determine endings. The whole story of the saintess required Allurene to function. A character with the backing of a god may meet tragic end, but usually, definitely, all the tragic ends he needed to deal with would be dealt with. Honestly, he had one hope. He thought that by doing this, he may return to his world. So what was he doing? He was planning to use his darkness afinity for a ritual he remembered from the game. The design of the magic circle was cool, so that part was something he actually remembered. This ritual would let him contact an evil god. This one was called Anima, the goddess of blood moon. A goddess of carnal insight and moonlight. He remembered thinking it would be cool if this was real it would have helped him when he was struggling to find his sexuality. Anima was strictly speaking, not an evil god, but was considered so in game lore. She was an ancient goddess said to have risen in the age of darkness. Age of darkness was a period of time in this world, which could be described as war and love or, to be more precise, war and sex. As an ancient god, she was recognised differently once. She was the goddess of safety, lust, morality, and love. It seems contradictory, right?! but she was the moonlight guiding you to find these. Later on, though, she revealed a dark part of herself to humankind. She was uncaring. She would make you fear to guide you to safety sometime. She would put you in moods, and she ruined lives if the person did not manage to find their path. Her guidance of morality was unique to each person and sometimes took a darker turn. An enlightment through darkness if you will. She was also known for her omens, the calamities she caused, and multiple tragedies in that period. The reason he was contacting her was that she outranked pretty much every divine he knew in the game world. She had the highest chance to just accept the vampire/arcane heritage of him, and maybe by sacrificing this body, he may actually get to the other world. She also guided so in the off chance he had to live in this world as long as he did not ignore her guidance completely and he actually took a positive attitude it would be fine. It was not that he was optimistic rather than history of her followers had proven. He had read history these days. He knew what to look for and he actually discovered Anima responded well to people with those attitudes.
