Oh sorry did you guys think this was an actual update? NOPE! Sorry! My final results haven't come out yet and the professor sent out an email saying that she'd get it ready on Sunday (which is tomorrow). I can't update or edit the next chapter rn cuz the anxiety's eating me alive so I made this instead cuz why not:

Fun Fact #1: I was originally going to make Essie's faceclaim Katie Douglas, but then I changed it to Madison Davenport. But theeeeeen, I changed my mind again and picked Mackenzie Foy mainly cuz she had gifs of herself as a child (plus the actress looks kinda similar to Timothee Chalamet which is a bonus)

Fun Fact #2: Sometime while I was writing the first book, Aletheia, I was actually planning on killing Essie off during The Last Olympian :) But then I decided that I should let Essie live a little longer, so this series will be branching off into HOO. Yaaaay!!!

Fun Fact #3: Essie's name in the first draft was gonna be Cassiopeia (Cassie) Adhara Black. I had to change it because Cassiopeia was the name of a star and that would've made it too obvious that she was Regulus' daughter since it was Black tradition to name their kids after stars. Sirius wouldn't do that since he hates his family, so why would he follow their tradition? Regulus doesn't hate his family (that much) so it would only be natural for him to follow tradition.

And another thing, names are kinda important in the PJO series. Sally named her son 'Perseus' because he was the only Greek hero who had a happy ending and she knew that Perseus was an actual living person. I realized that Cassiopeia wouldn't be a good name since that star was named after someone in Greek mythology.

Remember the story of Andromeda? Her mother, Cassiopeia, was described to be arrogant and vain. She boasted about how she and her daughter were more beautiful than the Nereids which pissed Poseidon off. She and her husband (with the advise from an oracle) then decided to sacrifice their kid in order to be spared. When Andromeda was saved "Poseidon thought Cassiopeia should not escape punishment, so he placed her in the heavens chained to a throne in a position that referenced Andromeda's ordeal. The constellation resembles the chair that originally represented an instrument of torture" (got that from Wiki)

And because Regulus was a good dad who studied about Greek myths the second he realized his daughter was a demigod, I was like, 'wtf am I thinking, there's no WAY Regulus would name his daughter after some arrogant woman who got tortured, I need to change her name!!!'

After god knows how long, I finally picked 'Esmerelda' :3. I still felt that Regulus would give her a star name, so I decided on Adhafera as her middle name too.

Also, it's pronounced EZ-MER-RELL-DA not EZ-MER-RALL-DA. It's spelled with an 'E', not an 'A'. Idk why, but I just like the sound of 'Esmerelda' more than 'Esmeralda' (no hate to anyone named Esmeralda btw!!!)

Fun Fact #4: Essie's birthday is on September 8, so she's a Virgo. According to this one website, their strengths are being loyal, analytical, kind, hardworking, and practical which sorta fits (especially the loyal and hardworking part). Their weaknesses are shyness, worry, overly critical of self and others, all work and no play (Essie was shy in the beginning of the series, not so much now, but she's DEFINITELY a worrier. The poor girl's stressed af and I'm to blame for that. Should I be ashamed of myself? Yes. But am I? No 😊)

Fun Fact #5: Essie is gonna grow up to be 5'7" meanwhile I'm stuck at 5'2" :')

Fun Fact #6: IN THE FIRST DRAFT I WAS GONNA MAKE HER A GRYFFINDOR BUT THEN I REALIZED THAT LITERALLY LIKE 80% OF THE OCS WERE FUCKING GRYFFINDOR, 10% IN SLYTHERIN, 6% RAVENCLAW AND 4% HUFFLEPUFF (I made that data up, btw, but what I'm saying is that they're almost always Gryffindors smh)

But no like seriously, the Essie from the first draft that I was planning was a lot darker and miserable. Remember all those foster parents she had? I was originally gonna make her accidentally kill them all with her magic and shit. And that she would be seen as a bad luck/omen and the kids she lived with in the foster homes would either hate her or be scared of her and no one would want to adopt her and all that sad shit.

I had other worse shit planned too, but I changed my mind and made Essie's life just a tad better. Again, you're welcome :)

Fun fact #8: I feel like Essie (should I have her live long enough to reach adulthood) would have a career centered around kids. Idk, like maybe a kindergarten or elementary teacher? Maybe a child psychologist or something???? Or maybe even a housewife because like it or not BEING A STAY-AT-HOME PARENT IS A LEGITIMATE JOB! They stay home and do everything from raising the kids, cooking, cleaning, paying taxes, organizing the bills, EVERYTHING!!!!!!! AND THEY DON'T EVEN GET PAID. THEY DO ALL THAT SHIT FOR FREEEEEE!!! I've heard people say that being a housewife isn't a real job and that there isn't any work to do and BITCH. THEIR SCHEDULE IS LITERALLY: work, work, work, work, work!!! They work all the fucking time without any pay or job benefits and shit. It's a real job!

There will be NO slander against stay-at-home parents in here okay!!! 😤😤

But anyways, I feel like those sorts of jobs would suit her the most because of how good she is with children and just taking care of people in general 🥰

Fun Fact #9: Thanks to Ted introducing her to his delicious Italian meals, her favorite food is now fried macoroni and cheese balls and that's what it tastes like whenever she drinks nectar now.

Fun Fact: #10: Again, thanks to Ted, she can make a few Italian pasta meals. She once saw him trying to teach Tonks how to cook for herself and Ted allowed her to join in on the lessons.

Fun Fact #12: Essie's multilingual. She knows English (duh), Ancient Greek (but that was already hardwired into her brain), Italian (she didn't really learn the language tho, it just sorta... happened??? I wonder why?????), modern Greek (which she learned on her own. I feel like since she already knows one variation of Greek—Ancient—it would be a lil easier for her to learn another variation), and Latin which she also learned on her own at camp.

Fun Fact #13: As I've mentioned before, the first draft of Essie's life was really sad and angsty....... so Essie herself was originally supposed to be really sad and angsty. I was actually gonna make her really distant and bitchy with a loud af voice. fsjfsjdf wioh can ya'll imagine her that way now??? AND because of how her attitude would've been, I was also planning on making her HATE Sirius and Regulus for no reason at all other than "that's just the way she is ✨" omg wtf was I thinking back then

I think I was trying to make her "a badass edgy bitch" but really all I did was make her look more like a "cringy bitch" instead with no other personality trait.... 💀💀💀

And what's worse was that she wouldn't have developed at all??? Like original draft book 1 Essie (or really, it should be Cassie in this case cuz this was the original draft) would be a nine year old angsty kid then fast-forward to book 6 and she still would've been mean and angsty (and no, I did not write up to book 6 and then redid it, I was just looking back at my old plans for it and cringed)

Unlike with the current Essie who was bright-eyed and hopeful in book 1 and now she's a lot more bitter and resigned in this book.

Fun Fact #14: Idk why but for some reason, I really wanna put Essie into the MCU world. Like, just take my OC and write another fanfic about the Avengers and put her there. I noticed that some authors like to have just one OC and place them in various fanfics about different fandoms. Is this what it's like to love your OC this much? Idk, but just imagine Essie meeting the Avengers or something  😂 😂 😂 😂

Essie would be a dumb ass trainer. I'm sorry, but this girl would NOT pass her pokemon education class. You know how you're supposed to get Pokemon of different types so you would have a type advantage and shit??? Well, Essie would not follow that rule. There would be more fairy type Pokemon in her team because she can't resist their cuteness.

Essie's Team: a Mimikyu (ghost/fairy) that she would name Mimi, Sylveon (fairy), Galarian Rapidash (psychic/fairy), Alcremie (fairy), Clefairy (fairy), and Zurua (dark)

Percy would be another dumbass who would forget all about type diversity except he's even worse than Essie since his team would be ALL WATER TYPES

Percy's team: Squirtle (water), Gyrados (water/flying), Vaporeon (water), Sharpedo (water/dark), Wishiwashi (water), and Greninja (water/dark)

Nico would try to have a team with different types.... but he still ended up with a team full of dark, ghost, and one fairy type because Essie gave it to him as a present and he couldn't say no. It's okay though 'cause he's still hella better than the trainwrecks that are Essie and Percy XD

Nico's team: Gengar (ghost/poison), Aegislash (ghost/steel), Dusknoir (ghost), Houndoom (fire/dark), Pangoro (dark/fighting), and Floette (fairy)

Annabeth. Finally, someone with braincells. You know this bitch would meticulously plan out her Pokemon team. She'd probably spend hours researching the gyms and elite four/or whoever she'd be fighting after the gym challenges. She definitely designed a team SPECIFICALLY to take them all down and there would be no repetitive types in her team either.

Annabeth's team: Charizard (fire/flying), Toxapex (water/poison), Tsareena (grass), Gardevoir (fairy/psychic), Garchomp (dragon/ground), and Lucario (fighting/steel)

Ethan is another person with braincells. He wouldn't go all out like Annabeth, but he wouldn't be a complete moron like Essie and Percy and get a team where everyone's the same type either. He would have SOME range smh. His Pokemon team is terrifying because he always gets the tough, cool looking ones BUT he would have this tiny ass fairy type cuz Essie also gave him one as a present and he couldn't say 'no' to her either

Ethan's team: Kommo-o (dragon/fighting), Tyranitar (rock/dark), Empoleon (water), Arcanine (fire), Metagross (steel/psychic) and a tiny ass baby Togepi (fairy)

Harry would be smarter than Essie and Percy but just barely. He would be impatient and start filling up his Pokemon team at the start of the journey. So now he's just stuck with all these Pokemon you would see in the earlier routes and he wouldn't try and switch them out for any different ones either because he would get too attached to them and feel bad.

Harry's team: Bidoof (normal), Rookidee (flying), Pikachu (electric), Psyduck (water), Deerling (normal/grass), and Abra (psychic)

Sirius would have range, but that's only because he would want to get the coolest Pokemon for each type. When he found out he could only have a maximum of six pokemon in his team and there were eighteen types, he was devastated. But he tried his best anyways. However, one thing you would notice was that his Pokemon team consists of all canines except for one lion...

Sirius' team: Pyroar (fire/normal), Lycanroc with the midday form while Remus would have the midnight form lol (rock), Granbull (fairy), a very stylish Furfrou (normal), Absol (dark), and Boltund (electric)

Regulus wouldn't give a shit about the gym challenges and whatnot. He'd still have a strong team though because he enjoys beating people and ruining their lives, but he's far too busy trying to raise his chaotic daughter to bother with anything else. Instead, his Pokemon team pretty much matches with his dark and broody, fancy✨ aesthetic™

Regulus' team: Chandelure (ghost/fire), Gothitelle (psychic), Honchkrow (dark/flying), Liepard (dark), Serperior (grass), and Galarian Weezing (fairy/poison).

Fun Fact #17: When Cursed Child came out, I was actually thinking about adding it to Essie's story. But then I read it and.... no.

Fun Fact #18: Essie would actually make a pretty good yandere.... and for those who don't know what a yandere is, just google it and you'll know right away what I'm talking about..... :)

She's definitely got the potential (which she must've inherited it from Regulus loool)

Fun Fact #19: The Antichrist idea wasn't originally planned. I just thought of it when I was taking a break from writing book 2. I was watching this 1960s horror movie called Rosemary's Baby and I just thought "what if I had baby Essie terrorize Sirius? Yes, that's a great idea!" and bam, Antichrist!Essie was born  😂 😂

Fun Fact #20: If this was a mortal high school AU, Essie would 100% be the school rich girl (thanks to daddy Regulus who would be alive), the school sweetheart, and maybe even a cheerleader. Idk, she just seems like the type who would enjoy the dancing and gymnastics.
