The First Year

So the first year of training began. To make things easier, Carlos introduced himself to Inko Midoriya, Izuku's mom, and explained his current situation. Everyday Izuku did everything on the routine list. Three sets of 25 push-ups, sit-ups, and squats being the main part. Then came the others, 2 sets of planking (60 seconds per set), a set of leg lifts (15 leg lifts), grip exercises, and then came the most confusing one; it was labeled "special enhancements".

Carlos explained that the reason why he labeled it like that was because unlike the others, it would not remain uniform throughout the year. "For the first 2 months, what we're going to enhance is your mobility. Then for the next 4 months we'll be focusing on hand-to-hand combat. Then the rest on psychology."

"Psychology?"

"Yep, that way you can read your opponents and predict their moves."

"Oh I get it now"

"So, let's start on your mobility. First things first, I need you to jump as high as you can."

Izuku jumped but only got 1 ft off the ground.

"I see.... Okay, first we need to improve your jumping."

"How are we going to do that?"

"That's what the squats are for kid. If you do the squat set everyday along with maybe a few other leg enhancement exercises, by the end of the year you'll be jumping over 10 ft in the air. Now, let's test something else. Follow me kid."

They went to the messy trash filled beach near Izuku's house. It was filled with piles upon piles of garbage and other junk.

"You see those piles over there?" He said while pointing to them. "I want you to climb up and down each of them as fast as you can, got it?"

The broccoli head nodded in response and did exactly that. It took him over 5 minutes to get up one pile. 'Okay, looks like he needs a lot of improvement.' The unknown hero thought to himself. "Okay kid. The reason why we're focusing on mobility is because in most battles, you can't just stand there and keep taking hits, you gotta move. And that's what we're focusing on. So, for the next two months I have to put you through basic parkour training, mountain climbing, and hiking."

And that's what they did. It took a month for Izuku to make progress. His body was still getting used to the sudden exercise. But after he got used to it, the enhancements have been running smoothly. By the end of the second month, he could do flips and jump off of walls. He had also developed a moderately good grip strength from the mountain climbing.

"Now that the two months are over, it's time to move on to hand-to-hand combat. Now my fighting style is a bit...unorthodox. Since the only martial arts that I actually took time to master was boxing, and a martial art from the Philippines called arnis. But arnis involves using sticks and swords so.....yeah. But to make up for it, I added a few grappling techniques to my arsenal."

Then he proceeded to teach Izuku said techniques. First he showed him the arm drag, a move that Izuku mastered quickly. Then the suplex (the German suplex to all you WWE/ROH/NJPW... Fans), another relatively easy move. Then he showed him the rear naked choke, then the triangle choke, then (A/N: my personal favorite) the arm triangle. Izuku mastered all of these moves in under a month. Then they proceeded to spar with each other.

Pow!

Carlos landed a punch on Izuku's face. Then Izuku charged at him like a mad man to throw a punch of his own, but Carlos caught his fist, and arm dragged him. Once Izuku got up, he charged at him again, this time being more careful. However, Carlos spun around him like a basketball player, backflipped, and hit Izuku's face with his foot mid-air. Izuku was on the floor holding his hands to his face. Carlos helped him back up to his feet.

"What's that face for? Haven't I taught you the pele kick? No? Well, now you know. Backflip and hit your opponent mid-air with you foot. The best way to set up for it is to twirl around him like I did, and jump the moment he tries to turn around."

Then the second month of combat came. This time, Carlos taught him about weapons; types, uses, how to counter them, how to use them, etc. Then they sparred again, this time, every match, Carlos would be armed with a weapon. For the first fight, it was a kendo stick. Second fight was arnis sticks. Third was a knife (the floppy training knife in Assassination Classroom). And the 4th time was a steel chair out of all things. Then the rest were random weapons. Eventually Izuku mastered this type of combat as well.

For the last two months month of combat, Izuku learned basic martial arts. It was a special month since both Carlos and Izuku were learning at the same time. First they learned basic jujitsu, then basic aikido, then they learned Muay Thai and tried kickboxing. Then Carlos taught Izuku basic arnis.

Then came the last stretch, psychology. First he taught Izuku how to read body language, then how to tell one's emotion simply by looking at their facial expression. Then Izuku learned how to predict movements based on facial expression, body language, and past observations regarding the opponent's fighting style.

Then the first year of training ended. By now, Izuku had acquired developed muscles and had visible six pack abs. He knew how to fight, run, dodge, and counter. He could jump as high as 9 ft in the air and could beat even the most athletic person in his class in a race.

"Hey kid. So we only have one year left until UA. So training is gonna get way harder from here understand?"

Izuku nodded and said "yes sensei"

"Good, and call me Carlos alright? So, for the second year of training, to maximize everything, I've added weights inside the material of your clothes, that way, even when your not training, your still getting work done."

With one year down and one more year to go, Izuku has come a long way from the wimp he was a year ago. And with that, the second year of hell began...
