The cook

Killer's P.O.V

Man, that had to be the best bed I ever slept in. I don't think I've ever been so well rested. And everyone got seperate rooms! Well, Blueberry and Ink still slept together, but they chose to do that. Horror and I woke up early to explore the massive mansion we were staying in. Every time you think you've seen everything, there's another door. Every. Single. Time.

"This place is bigger on the inside then it is on the outside!" Horror exclaimed.

"Isn't that the general idea of a mansion?" I replied.

We came to yet another door.

"Man, this place never ends!"

Horror opened the door and we both went in. Instantly, a sweet smell filled our nose sockets. Mmm, smells delicious. It was a large kitchen. The back of the room had a counter, oven, fridge, things you'd usually have in a kitchen. At the centre of the room was a big dining table, set up with fifteen sets of knives and forks. Fifteen...I've only seen fourteen, excluding the budgie and dog. The oven was on and baking something, hence the sweet smell, but nobody else was in the room.

"I wonder what's cooking." I commented.

"I wonder who's cooking it." Horror added.

Horror went over to the fridge and reached for the handle.

"Horror, that's so impolite." Then I smiled. "Let me get in on that."

I walked over to Horror and he opened the fridge. The thing was stocked with all kinds of food, all of it looked absolutely delicious. It looked much better then the slop they called food back in the arena. Man, we should be considered lucky. We heard the door open behind us and panicked. We quickly shut the fridge door and turned to see who it was. Someone new, another skeleton. He wore some rather revealing clothes and had purple, heart-shaped eye lights. He raised his non-existent eyebrow.

"What are you two doing up so early?" He asked calmly.

"Uh...um..." Horror was lost for words.

"We were just...looking around." I answered.

The skeleton smiled. "That's alright. I did the same thing when I first got here."

The skeleton walked over the the oven and turned it off. He put on some oven mitts and went to grab what was inside.

"E-Excuse me..." Horror started, finally finding his tongue. "What's your name?"

The skeleton smiled. "My name is Lust. What's your name?"

"Horror."

"Hmm...a fitting name. I like it."

Lust took a tray out of the oven and set it down on the oven's top. Horror walked up to Lust and looked into the tray.

"Are those cookies?" He asked.

Lust nodded. "Yep. I thought a little treat would be good before the trip."

"What trip?" I asked.

"FC will explain it when everyone is awake."

I guessed that the girl we saw last night was FC. That's a weird name. It was probably just an acronym.

"If you want, you can have the first cookie once they've cooled down." Lust said, smiling at Horror.

Horror couldn't help but smile back. "Thanks!"

I heard the door open behind us again. This time, literally everyone came in.

"Ah! I see you've met Lust." The girl said, smiling. "Great! Because it's time for breakfast. Everyone take a seat, we'll set up the food, we have a lot to talk about."

After everyone had sat down at the table, Lust and Dream had handed everyone a plate of food. And man, it was the best food I'd ever eaten! It was something I had only ever heard of! As we were eating, the girl explained everything.

"So, my name's FC." She said. "And this is Chip."

The budgie perched on FC's shoulder chirped.

"I think you know Error, Dream, Sci and Buddy already. And Horror and Killer, you two have met our best cook, Lust."

Lust waved at Horror. Horror waved back.

"This here giant octopus is Nightmare, Dream's brother."

Nightmare glared at FC.

"So I suppose you're all wondering why we broke you out of the arena."

"You can say that again." Dust muttered.

"So I suppose you're wonder-"

"It's a figure of speech!"

FC giggled. Nightmare rolled his eye light.

"I'll take over." Dream said, and continued the explanation. "The reason we broke you guys out of the arena was because we wanted to relocate all of you to a better place. We're planning to take you on a several day trip to a well secured surviver camp."

"Really? You mean it?" Blueberry asked, sounding hopeful.

Dream nodded. "Yes. Although it may take a long time to get there, and there are sure to be zombies along the way, we are determined to get everyone there safe and sound."

Us nine warriors looked at each other, then back at Dream.

"Why would you bother even helping us?" Geno asked.

"Because," FC replied. "Everyone deserves a a safe place to call home. You won't need to worry about the zombie apocalypse when you reach the surviver camp. It's one of the best camps in the world."

"How are you planning on getting us there?" Reaper asked.

"On the best thing we have. We'll be leaving as soon as everyone's finished eating."

Most of us had already finished. Probably because the meal was so good. It was filling, too. Lust got up and went to grab the tray of cookies he had made. Like he promised, he gave the first cookie to Horror. Horror gobbled it down almost instantly.

"Wow! This is brilliant!" He exclaimed.

Lust giggled. "Thanks, it's my own recipe!"

Lust proceeded to give everyone else a cookie. Even Chip and Buddy, who gobbled it down as fast as Horror did. I took a bite out of the cookie. I had no problem realising why they liked it so much. It was a perfect blend of ingredients, a perfect blend of flavours. I could see why FC said Lust was their best cook.

"Like it?" Nightmare asked me.

I nodded and smiled. Nightmare huffed and looked away, giving his cookie to me.

"Don't you want it?" I asked.

"I don't like sweet things." Nightmare replied. "Take it before I look stupid."

I paused for a moment, then took the cookie. "Thank you!"

Nightmare simply hummed in response.

"Welp, it looks like everyone is ready. Let's get a move on." FC said, standing up.

FC led all of us outside, to a large garage located to the side of the mansion. It took four of us to open the rusty garage door. Inside was a giant vehicle. A bus. It was suited to survive out in the wasteland of the zombies. Eight solar panels on it's roof, one-way-view windows, reinforced tires. Man, these guys really know how to build a fortress. We all went inside. The three back rows of seats were stocked with food, fresh water and other essentials.

"Get comfortable everyone." Error said. "It's gonna be a long week."

We decided that it was too late to turn back now, everyone sat down somewhere on the bus. Blueberry and Ink, as always, sat together. Dream sat at the front, Buddy jumped onto his lap. FC sat at the driver's seat. I would've asked if I could sit next to Horror, but Lust beat me to it. I sighed and sat down alone, near the back. Everyone else, as far as I knew, sat on their own, too. To my surprise, Nightmare walked up to me.

"Hey, mind if I sit with you?" He asked.

I raised my non-existent eyebrow. "Why? There are plenty of empty seats to sit alone."

"Dream says I should. And he won't stop bugging me until I do."

I looked around the seat in front of me to see Dream. He was peaking around his seat, smirking at us.

I sighed and moved over. "Sure, you can sit here."

Nightmare sat down next to me, saying nothing else. Oh boy, this was going to be one long, awkward trip.
