"Stop pacing and come here, I need to patch up your leg," Five groans pulling on his uniform jacket. He just finished stitching his wound together.
It may have been the numbness in your leg that made the pain subside, but you really wanted to blame it on the anger you felt.
"Are you ready for my breakdown, or do you need a few minutes?"
Five paused all of his movements. "What," he asked, genuinely confused at your words.
You stopped pacing and turned to face him. "I've got plenty of stored up anger that I'm willing to let out, but I want to ask calmly. So, again, do you need a few minutes, or can I ask away?"
He moved you over to the bed and cut a hole in your jeans. "We don't have time for-"
"You don't want to say that to me."
He sighed and put some alcohol onto a cotton pad. "Fine, ask away."
You have a small feeling he purposely pressed into your wound before you could begin speaking.
Let me just take a deep breath before I start screaming.
"Let me start with this: how is it, that in just one day, you've made me angry, made me completely fall for you all over again, and then just absolutely infuriated with you? All in one day?!"
The look Five sent you was a mix of emotions. You didn't have the patience to pick through and figured out what they were.
"Okay, now that's out of the- ow!" You gritted your teeth when Five starting stitching the bullet hole closed. "Sorry."
"What the hell happens in seven days? What do you mean the apocalypse? And who the fuck were those people and why were they hunting u-"
'Don't tell him about me, would ya?'
"-you?"
He left a small scoff fall from his lips. With his free hand, he reached up and put his hand on the back of your neck, pulling you down into a kiss.
There was that guilty feeling deep in your stomach when he pulled away. Why did I listen to the assassin?
"When I time traveled, I went seven days into the future and discovered that everything was destroyed, and everyone was dead, including you."
He let go of you and finished stitching up the hole.
"The 'apocalypse' is what destroys everything. Though, I don't exactly know what that is, yet."
He place a bright pink bandaid on your thigh, tossing another pair of Allison's jeans into your lap. "And to get back, I needed some help. I ran into some bad people and now they're after me."
"I knew it!"
"What?"
"I knew you had some type of help getting back!"
"How?"
"Were you not there for my dramatic backstory?"
He sighed with the shake of his head. There was a small smile tilting his lips up.
You grabbed his wrist as he stood up. "Why did it take you so long to say that? Why didn't you answer my questions sooner, Five?"
He grunts, shrugging his shoulders lightly. "I-I didn't have answers of my own. I don't even know where to start for finding the end of the apocalypse."
You let him go and limp into the bathroom to change. "Maybe, start with what you have right now, like the eye. Didn't the doctor say it hasn't been made yet?"
You hear Five gasp, it's followed by a couple of thuds and the sound of a window sliding open. You take the contents of your bloodied jeans and put them into the pockets of your clean pair.
"Five," you called, pushing open the door and peering into the room: it's empty.
That bitch boy.
"Where is it," you hear Klaus yell from outside the window. The window is slid open, like someone left the room through it.
You carefully climb through the windowsill and down the ladder. "Klaus, hi," you said to the man who was knee-deep in the garbage dumpster.
He lifted up from the trash he was digging through. "Y/n, how are you this fine day?"
You didn't want to question why he was digging through the trash, quite eccentrically at that.
Oh, yeah, the box he stole... the contents.
"Did you see where Five went? I'm pretty sure he went out the window," you asked, scuffing your feet on the ground. There were pieces of a chewed bagel mushed into the ground.
You grimace.
"Yeah, yeah, he headed down the street, stole a plumbing van and drove off."
"What?"
"What," he copied, not seeming to care for what he just said. He hopped from the garbage, stumbling to your side. "If you're looking for him, I'll invite myself along."
You rolled your eyes and let him follow after you as you walked down the alleyway. "Sure, help yourself."
He whispered something that you didn't catch and you didn't care to worry for what it was.
"Y/n! Klaus!"
What is it, now?
Luther drops the hand he used to wave and get your attention, stopping his jog to stand in your way. "Have you seen Five?"
"I'm going to look for him, why?"
"And I'm going along." Klaus sent Luther a lop-sided grin.
"We need to have a meeting, it's about mom," Luther says. He has to look down to stare into your eyes. There's conflict behind the glossiness in his pupils.
Mom? What wrong with mom?
You wave your hand dismissively. "Yeah, when I find him, I'll give him the word."
"Actually, I'm coming with you."
"Actually, you're not."
"Y/n," Klaus whines your name. "The more the merrier!"
You shrug your shoulder and motion for him to follow you down the street.
"Okay, so where should we begin. If you don't have a clue, I can ask around," Luther says, already taking charge like always.
You rolled your eyes.
Old habits die hard.
"He's most likely parked at an intersection near the prosthetic building. I gave him a clue to start with the prosthetic eye he has and he disappeared, so, he's over that way."
Luther looks taken aback and he cocks his head. "Prosthetic what?"
"It's a long story," Klaus says, pressing at the scratch he got from the 'fun' trip to the place last time.
"Tell me," Luther says, "how are you so sure this is where Five is?"
Klaus gives him a soft slap on the back. "Come on, they share the same braincells. It's obvious they're head-over-heels for each other, so, why would they not know where the other is?"
"Speaking of braincells," you interject, "when did you get so observant."
Klaus smiles. "It's painfully obvious you guys've fucked."
"We didn't!"
"Not yet!"
