Your eyes were glued to the decorative rug beneath the couch you sat on.

It was quiet.
No one knew what to do.
No one made eye contact.

The tension in the air made it hard to breath. Awkwardness and annoyance were the two main emotions.

Finally, Luther stood.
"I was thinking we could do a memorial service in the courtyard at sun down." He always took charge, in full advantage because he was 'number one'. He was dad's goody two shoes. "There's other important things we need to discuss."

Vanya took the seat at your right. She leaned into the couch's arm. "Like what?"

"Like the way he died."
You almost scoffed at the tone Luther used. He sounded so sure of himself.

Klaus took the space at your left. He took a hit from the cigarette in his hand and laid his head in your lap. "I don't understand, you said it was heart failure?"

"That's what the coroner said," Luther replied, still standing from his seat.
"Wouldn't they know?"
"Theoretically."

Theoretically?

Diego gave a half-assed, sarcastic chuckle. "What's that supposed to mean?"

You prepared yourself for the nonsense that was to come out of Luther's mouth.

"He sounded on edge the last time I spoke to him. Said to be careful of who I trust, like he knew something was going to happen."

There it is.

"Klaus I need you to talk to Dad," Luther said.

Everyone knew that wasn't going to happen. "Yeah, because he can just call up dad in the after life," you muttered deeply.

"Whatever," Luther sighed. "There's also the problem with the missing monocle."
"Who gives a shit? It's worthless."
"Exactly. So, that means that whoever took it, is close to him. Holding a grudge."

"Where are you going with this," Klaus grumbled, putting the cigarette out on his shirt.

Everyone had the same 'my patience is wearing thin' look on their face as they stared up at Luther.

Diego stood, his chair sliding back at the sudden force. "Isn't it obvious, Klaus? He thinks that one of us killed dad."

Luther's silence gave the answer no one wanted to hear.

Talk about being 'loyal' to us.
"How could you think that," Vanya asked, shifting in her seat.

Everyone tensed up when Diego got close to Luther. "He thinks that because he was loyal to dad, and that he thinks there's something to avenge about dad's death!"

You lightly pushed Klaus off of your lap and stood. Without a word, you left for your room.

You all stood inside the bank. Allison stepped forward, the first one to take action. She walked up to one of the robbers and whispered. "I hear a rumor, that you shot your friend in the foot."
The hostages began screaming as he fired his gun, doing what allison said.

Luther came from the ceiling, breaking through the glass, and landing on another con. He easily picked him up and tossed him through the window, and out of the bank.

"Guns are for sissies, real men throw knives." Diego ran forwards, tossing several knives that imbedded themselves into another one.

You ran forward, making your way between two others. You were quick to outstretch your hands, creating two force fields

They held up their weapons and shot at you. The bullets ricocheted off the shields and into the men, killing them.

One of the armed robbers pointed his gun at you all as you stood carelessly in front of the weapon. "I'll shoot," he tried to warn. "Sure, you will." Five appeared behind the man, space jumping when he tried to shoot him. You snorted as five switched the gun for a stapler. "Hey, that's one badass weapon," he stated before knocking the man out.

"Do we really have to do this?" Ben knew what he had to do. he just didn't want to do it. "Yes, ben. there's more in the vault." He heavily slumped his shoulders before walking into the room. Seconds later four tentacles appears, grabbing any remaining guys and killing him.
Ben exited the room covered head-to-toe in blood. "Can we go now?"

Your father started speaking as you gathered outside the bank, five wrapping an arm around your shoulders. "Our world is changing. Has changed. There are some among us, gifted with abilities far beyond the ordinary." He paced in front of you as you all stared ahead, smiles on your faces, just like he said.
"I have adopted seven such children." You could almost frown as he left out vanya like he always did. "I give you the inaugural class of the umbrella academy."

You stumbled into your room, feeling dizzy from the argument. It was a waste of your time to listen to them.

With Luther and Diego butting heads, nothing is going to get accomplished.

You breath in a deep breath when the house was finally silent. Suddenly, a childhood song began to play.

Nevermind about the silence.

You laughed to yourself, singing along to the words you repeated so many times in your youth. You felt like jumping up to dance around your room, but resorted to simply bobbing your head to the beat.

The music abruptly stopped, confusing you enough to where you snapped your head up at the sudden silence. A rumbling sound came from outside.

You couldn't help but look out your window, the bright sky was now dark.
It was raining.

When did that happen?

"What is it," you asked as Diego poked his head into your room. You followed him to the backyard, everyone joining after.
"What the hell is it." Vanya grabbed your hand, everyone being blown back by gusts of wind.

Up in the sky, a portal of blue was being suspended, creating strong bursts of wind that could knock someone off their feet.
"It looks like some sort of temporal anomaly," Luther tried to explain.

You knew exactly what it was, but the word just wouldn't come to mind.
It was at the tip of your tongue, but too far to reach. "It's...it's..."

Klaus pushes past you, a fire extinguisher in hand. He failed to get it started, resorting to throwing into the portal instead. "That's not going to do shit!"

Even in the heat of the moment, Klaus turned to you and asked, "you have anything better?"

Something, or someone fell through the portal. It immediately dispersed into thin air. The thunder faded and night turned to day. The faint noise of the music replaying could be heard.

You gasped as the person stood up. Dark hair, thin frame. You knew who it was.

"Is it me, or does that look like, little number five?" Klaus took the words from your mouth.

Five looked down, whispering a small 'shit' before making his way into the house.

You had to be dragged in, mind scattered every which way, simply at the sight of him.

What the fuck
