-Chapter Five: The Fight-

Flynn and I spent the rest of the night strategizing. Everything was planned out. As soon as the gang came outside... shit was gonna hit the fan.

Flynn slept on the ground next to me, and woke up early the next morning. He shook me awake, which I wanted to protest against, until I remembered that we were breaking out. We pretended to be asleep again, until the door opened.

A wave of alcohol-scented air hit us, and the scumbags stumbled out for the day. "Jake, Lewis, if you don't have any meth by the time you get back I'll fucking rip your throat out!" exclaimed the leader. "Wake up, asshole," he muttered as he kicked Flynn in the side, hard. He groaned and pulled himself up, clutching his side. The leader laughed and shoved him aside.

"You might wanna shield yer eyes, pussycat, things are gonna get bloody out here real soon." Flynn's widened in shock.

"You don't mean..."

He laughed. "Hurry up and get your sorry ass out of here before you vomit or something." Flynn's jaw locked in determination.

"I am not the wimp you think I am," he said in a steady tone.

"Oh yeah?" the jackass laughed. He tossed a knife over to Flynn, who caught it with a look of shock. "Well, what'r yeh waiting for?" he said.

Flynn walked over to me. He winked, before chopping through the ropes that bound me. None of the other gang members knew what had happened before I leapt up. Rage contorted the leader's face. "YOU LITTLE BITCH!" he exclaimed.

I dove over and grabbed a baseball bat off a rubbish bin. Flynn found it last night, and set it far enough away that no one would suspect anything. The leader and Flynn were locked in combat, and I snuck up behind him before giving him a good thump on the head. He stumbled back, and Flynn leapt at him, stabbing him with the knife.

Suddenly, searing pain shot across my arm. I cried out in pain, someone had sliced me with a knife. I whipped around to see one of the other gang members holding a knife with a maniacal grin plastered on his face. "YOU FUCKING ASSHOLE," I exclaimed as I took a swing at him. He ducked, and lunged forward, embedding the knife in my stomach.

I fell to the ground. Black spots danced across my vision. I pulled the knife out, immediately regretting it as I started bleeding more. Dammit. I pulled myself up enough to see what was going on. The leader had wrestled Flynn to the ground, and it didn't look good. Bruises and blood covered both of them. Punches were flying back and forth, and I had no clue how either were still conscious.

We were supposed to get out of here... I thought to myself. I was supposed to see Maddy and Tana again.

My vision was beginning to get blurry. I was barely able to make out the leader punch Flynn across the face, either knocking him out or killing him. A tear slid down my face, freezing in the cold winter air.

I slumped against the brick wall. This is it. I stared up into the cloudy sky, watching snowflakes fall. My vision faded, whiter, whiter, whiter...
