Okay so we all remember the upside down episodes right and the upside down episodes aphmau is supposed to represent Gene Obviously
and Aaron in this case was representing Zane

Upside down Aaron obviously had a huge crush on upside down aphmau
Him constantly wanting her attention as well as wanting to get into her group to be closer to her

Remember Aaron is representing Zane and aphmau's representing Gene in this upside down universe

SO WHY IN THE WORLD DON'T PEOPLE SEE THE LOVE ZANE HAS FOR GENE IN THE NORMAL UNIVERSE

Not only that but another theory I have about Gene in the current time I'm always teasing Zane
It seems like he wants that angered reaction from him he wants Zane to be angry at him he wants Zane nto be cruel to him

he wants Zane to get revenge for what he did to Zane
He feels remorse and guilt
And I do believe that he couldn't see how much Zane truly did care for him and how much he just pushed away in a cruel manner and most of his attention is only directed toward Zane

And now that Gene finally sees how much he actually care for him he wants to let Zane let out all his anger onto Gene so once he's done Gene can finally work his way up to have Zane love him again

But this time he'll absolutely love Zane back
