Y/n L/n is a fan favorite of the Apex tournament. But he has no wins.

The reason he is a fan favorite is because he is all skill and no luck. 

This means the ones in charge of the tournaments want him alive.

He gets to be revived like other legends and fan favorites.

It's just another day for Y/n, trying to make ends meet. 

Y/n can barely afford his crappy apartment. With all the surprises that come his way, one thing or another always breaks. 

It's time again for another tournament. Almost Ninety enemies to kill. 

Y/n lands and only manages to find a p2020.

But Y/n could make something so basic, dangerous. 

There is almost no time to rest for Y/n.

As he turns a hall he is attacked by a man with an axe. He dodges and slams the man against a wall, pinning him.

He shoots the man in the back of the head and kills him. His two friends turn up and unload their guns at Y/n.

Y/n dodges and shoots them both in the head.

Almost immediately after another team arrives and attempts to rush him. 

One goes for a punch but Y/n dodges and shoots him in the head. 

One knocks Y/n's pistol out of his hand, but this won't stop Y/n.

Y/n delivers a series of fast and sharp punches to the attacker and finishes it with crushing the attacker's windpipe.

The last one tries to grab Y/n from behind, but finds himself flipped onto his back and his neck crushed by Y/n's foot. 

Y/n checks them for anything good but can't find anything, and the guns of the other trio stop working. This leaves Y/n with just his pistol. 

Y/n moves fast and cautiously.  

He sees a sniper scope lens flare and quickly  dodges a shot. He shoots perfectly and kills the sniper.  More shots come flying at him.

Another team appears in front of him but stand no chance against the accuracy and speed of Y/n as he shoots them multiple times before they can get a shot off. 

He kills the other two attackers and moves on.

This is standard for Y/n, battle after battle with minimal equipment. This is what makes him a fan favorite.  He might not win, but he puts on a great show.  And everyone loves an underdog.

Y/n keeps fighting and gets fourty confirmed kills.  But still can't keep any good equipment. 

He's near the end of the tournament. But Y/n knows better than to be cocky.

It's down to him and one other team. With fourty kills to his name, anyone would think Y/n can win. 

His opponents aren't pushovers.   Wraith, Bangalore and Mirage. 

Y/n gets shot at and he takes cover. Mirage attempts to confuse Y/n with multiple clones. But Y/n can see even the littlest difference between Mirage and his clones and shoots Mirage right between the eyes.

Wraith appears behind Y/n and he dodges a knife stab. Y/n slams her head against a rock and shoots her in the head.

Bangalore appears and punches Y/n in the face. She shoots but Y/n dodges and goes to shoot her, but his gun jams.

Y/n: Shit!

He tosses his gun at Bangalore who dodges. Y/n tackles her and tries to choke her out. He gets close but Bangalore manages to slip a grenade into a pocket and kick him off of her.

Y/n explodes and the tournament ends. Fans are excited and disappointed.

Y/n is revived and is disappointed in himself.

Y/n leaves and goes to his apartment. He immediately walks to his counter and slams his fist onto it.

Y/n: I was so fucking close! *slams fist onto the counter again*  Every * slams fist onto counter* fucking *slams fist onto counter* time! *slams fist onto counter* 

He calms down and collects his thoughts. He grabs some crackers and eats them. Since his food is all stuff you don't have to cook, he has limited options.  He can cook, but everytime he goes to cook his appliances break. 

He found it cheaper to eat snacks just like a full course meal. 

He lays down in his bed. He pulls out his phone. He has no choice but to accept an assassination contract, it's his only reliable source of income that can pay for his bills and repair costs. 

Y/n doesn't like killing, but it's the only thing he can really do that doesn't require luck. He only needs skill for most of it.
