one - Ryan Hates The Opposite Of Normal
Usually, on a Saturday afternoon, you'd see a person would still be in bed asleep because it's normal. Or you see kids running around and playing in the park because, to them, it's normal. Or you'd see a group of girls huddled in the food court at a mall with various bags sprawled around their feet while they point out anybody that's cute to the eye, because, well, that's how certain normal teenage girls are.
But there was nothing normal about moving back into the home that has more meaning than it should.
''Damn it'' Marvin hissed when another labeled box slipped through his grip, creating a commotion when making contact with the concrete.
''You know there's guys who get paid to do this sort of thing, right?'' Ryan remarked, carrying a box of her belongings over to the U-Haul truck.
''We got it'' He breathes out, placing both hands on his hips while dropping his weight on one leg. The sun that shined bright over them caused a seat to brew on his forehead, trailing down the side of his face and making his glasses slippery. ''Besides, money's gonna be tight from this point forward.''
Ryan swiftly turns on the heel of her foot, slapping her arms against her sides. ''That's the last of them.''
She watches as her father picks up the box and places it gently into the truck, sliding it shut.
''Let's look on the bright side,'' He starts. ''At least you get to see your old friends again.''
She shakes her head. ''You don't get it, do you, dad? I don't want to go back to New York, I don't want to live here. I wanna go on an adventure.''
'And no matter how many times I tell him this, he kisses my forehead and tells me-'
Marvin reaches behind Ryan's head, pulling her closer to him as he gives her moist temple a gentle peck. ''You just wait.''
He walked off towards the driver seat, leaving Ryan behind the vehicle to roll her eyes.

Ryan smiles at the comment, turning her phone off as Marvin drives over another bump.
While the melody of "Can I," by Love, Dollhouse played through her ear buds, she took a notice of how the sight of large trees passing by exchanged with the city lights.
But as the closer her and her father got to her home, she couldn't but question her old life, whether anything will be the same as it once used to?
Ryan furrows her brows and turned to her father with a scowl as he sits there, looking at her already expectantly with the one ear piece he ripped out. ''We're here.''
She turns to look on the outside of her window, her features falling at the cream colored townhouse.
Unbuckling her seatbelt, she mumbles to her father ''Could you give me a second?''
As Marvin was too focused on getting everything he needed, a light smirk sketches his lips and he scoffs. ''A second for-''
The sound of the car door slamming alarmed him from what was happening.
''-what?''
Her burgundy colored vans pressed against the cement when walking up the short flight of stairs as Ryan stared at the house with see, her lips falling slightly ajar.
She was surprised but thankful when the door wasn't locked, walking into immediate warmth of the home.
In front of her was the stairs that lead to the two bedrooms and one bathroom.
Her feet had a mind of their own, causing her to walk around the neutral grey painted living room with a couch to match and olive green chairs. An ottoman with a tray of decorative items was set up in the middle of everything and the wall in front had a 63' inch Samsung Smart TV.
Ryan then entered the dining room that mashed with the open kitchen, finding it odd to see the counters wiped clean.
There was a wooden dining table and grey wooden chairs that seemed to blend with the clean white walls and cabinets.
A soft smile perked it's way on Ryan's lips as she walks over to the floor length window, giving the room natural lighting.
Looking down, was where her dad was trying to carry three boxes at the same time. But of course with her klutz of a father, his glasses started to slide and when he tired to reach for them, the boxes tilted in his grip. He snatched up the boxes but the force tilted the third box on top, causing two of them to fall.
Ryan kept her gentle smile when entering her father's office. Out of all rooms, this would have to be her favorite.
It was a place where if she was having a bad day, her own bedroom wouldn't have even been an option.
Instead all she would have to do is come in here, lock the door and sit down. She would be left to her own thoughts and she would be left for hours.
Backing out of the room, she holds on to the doorknob with still taking lingering seconds to take a look back.
Eventually, Ryan was back near the front door, where she made quick turn at the staircase. She nearly tripped when skipping each step.
Ryan couldn't help the small chuckle that left her lips, seeing her room was all decorated with everything up to her taste.
Although she loved the black on purple, she can easily tell that the theme of her room will quickly change in the future.
But for now this will do.
Ryan walked over to the room opened between her and her father's.
The only bathroom window didn't have a shade so she could see Manhattan from down the busy block, the double mirrors reflecting the view.
Ryan stops walking when she's standing in the doorway of her parents bedroom. Or just parent.
Being in the room alone gave her chills as she goes to sit on the bed.
'My mom died last year. I was waiting to be picked up from school one day and on her way here, she got into a horrific accident and died instantly when the driver hit her. It was hard to take, considering the situation back then. It's still hard to take now. It's still hard to believe that the person that loved and carried you all these years is really gone.'
She wipes away the stray tear when she looks to see who was knocking at the open door.
''I thought, I'd find you here'' Marvin whispers, looking her over because of the noticeable puffiness that consumed from under her eyes.
She smiles weakly at him. ''I wish we never left.''
''Oh'' He mumbles, climbing into the bed with her. ''We had to get away for a while.''
As Ryan turns to look at him, she only moves her neck halfway. ''I wasn't ready.''
She turns to look at out the open windows. ''I wasn't ready to leave her.''
