Jimin

"Do you remember what happened to you?"

Jimin awkwardly placed his mug onto the table, and kept his eyes on the place mat below it. He was a little intimidated by this person, he couldn't lie. So far, he had found out that Jungkook was a bionic who used to work at a bionic factory, and that someone higher up had asked him to do something important yesterday. But then something had gone wrong? He wasn't sure.

"No I don't. I'm sure it was an effect of the drug they gave me."

"D...drug?" Jimin risked a quick glimpse up, and looked up to meet Jungkook's fervent stare. He found it astonishing how someone with such a placid countenance could convey a feeling so strong as to force Jimin's gaze back down to the place mat.

"Yes."

"Ah, I see..." He looked up again, and found that Jungkook still had his eyes pinpointed straight at Jimin's. "The clothes...do they fit okay?" Jimin tried, his voice tight and high.

The bionic looked down at himself. "They're a bit small."

"Heh, I thought they'd be. They're too big for me, but I still wasn't sure if they'd fit you since you're a bit taller than me..."

"Thank you, either way."

"Ah, no problem..."

"..."

He couldn't take it anymore. Jimin stood up quite suddenly, and took his mug to the sink, eyeing the one he had offered to Jungkook which remained untouched. Purposely keeping his body poised away from Jungkook, he rinsed out his mug and kept his head down. Only the clanging of ceramic and the sound of trickling water could be heard for what felt like an eternity. After he had finished, Jimin stood still facing away from Jungkook for a few moments, tapping his finger against the counter as he let it all just sink in. Every so often he would glance back towards the man sat at his table, and every time his gaze was met by Jungkook's who hadn't for a second looked away. And every time, Jimin felt his face heat up. "J-Junkook?"

"Yes?"

He sat down again at the table, unsure of what to say. "Do you not like tea?"

He watched as Jungkook picked up the mug and stared at the brown liquid. Jimin noticed how his face was unchanging, and the blond wondered if this man had ever smiled even once in his life. Jungkook glanced down briefly at the mug filled with cold tea just as impassively as Jimin had expected. "I've never had it before."

"You wouldn't like to try it, or...?"

"You don't need to make another one."

"Okay," he whispered. If the conversation remained as stale as it was currently, Jimin thought he'd maybe go insane. The kitchen window, open as it was, was looking fairly enticing to jump out of. "Um...since you're a bionic, does that mean you have no place to stay? Somewhere to go back to?"

"I have the factory."

"Yes but, how will you get there?"

"I can run there."

"Can you really run that far?"

A pause. For a moment, Jimin swore he saw the bionic's brow twitch. "What do you mean?"

"The only bionic factory in Korea is the one in Seoul."

"Yes."

Jimin cleared his throat. "We're in Busan."

"...what?"

"I-I can happily drive you there-!"

Jungkook shook his head. "No, I can still make it if I make stops."

Jimin felt speechless. "You...you can't be serious. After last night, it's obvious that you can't deal in cold weather! You're probably still maybe even slightly pneumonic!"

"I'll wear layers."

The blond was speechless. Was this man as oblivious to his own physical wellbeing as he was to the concept of human emotion? "No, any human even with your abilities would still freeze to death! Jungkook, you may be a bionic but you still have the body of a human." The taller didn't reply, his dark eyes hidden beneath those dark bangs, however Jimin was still sure that the bionic's gaze hadn't wavered from the table before him. "I-I can drive you-"

"No, you've already helped enough. I'm supposed to be the one helping you," Jungkook interrupted, his voice noticeably firmer and more tensed.

Jimin didn't know how to reply to his seriousness. "...Listen, we'll figure this out. In the meantime, you can use my shower if you want to?"

Jungkook nodded. "Can I borrow your phone to ring the company?"

"I can do it while you shower!" the smaller cut off, his response more enthusiastic than intended.

"Oh, okay. Then-" Jungkook stood from the table, and disappeared out of the kitchen.

Jimin breathed out, and let his head fall to the table. Why had this happened to him? He felt tired of constantly facing twists and turns, and for once, he had seen things clearly set out on the straight path that he had been walking. Now, with Jungkook in the mix, his path had taken an unexpected swerve, and it had taken Jimin aback quite a bit.

He heard the shower turn on, and he pulled his phone out his pocket to research the company number. The phone dialed for a few seconds, before he heard a monotone voice call out to him on the other line.

"Seoul Bionics speaking, how many I be of service?"

"I have a bionic here with me, and there seems to be a bit of a mixup-"

"What is their identification model?"

"Oh, um, I'm not sure I didn't check."

"Their name?"

"Uh, Jungkook...I-I don't know his last name, I...I can get some more information and call back later-"

After a few moments, the caller replied, "There's no need. I'm afraid there isn't a Jungkook in the system."

"What?"

"If you find out his identification model, a more thorough search can be provided. Until then, there's nothing more we can do, so please make sure to call back with the information needed."

"Yes, of course."

"Enjoy your day."

"...Thank you for your help." The phone line went dead. What was he supposed to do now? He could find out his model and try again later on, but they didn't even have a bionic named Jungkook at all. Just where had he come from?

His phone started to ring after a couple of minutes, and he checked the caller ID: Yoongi. "Hey hyung."

"Woah, that sounded pretty dark. What's been going on with the guy? Is he still there?"

"Uh yeah, he's taking a shower." Jimin breathed in. "Hyung, I don't know what to do."

"Why, what's happened?"

He breathed in again. "His name is Jungkook. He's a bionic."

"O-kayyyy. What's the bad part?"

"Well, I rung the Seoul bionic factory. And apparently Jungkook isn't in their databases." As melodramatic as it sounded, Jimin could only bite his lip as he waited for his friend to respond.

"Oh, yeah that's pretty bad."

"Hyung! It's really bad! Just where did he come from?! Is he from overseas? He speaks fluent Korean, and his dialect is even from Busan! What am I supposed to do with him?!"

"He's a bionic, he can figure it out for himself can't he?"

"That was mean even for you!"

"It's true."

"I can't just throw him out onto the streets!" Jimin began pacing back and fourth with his phone held to his ear intently.

"Well he can't stay there with you, he's a complete stranger..." He heard Yoongi pause, then a sigh followed. "I'd feel better if he stayed here with me. Then I know you won't get pounced on."

"Seriously? You can barely take care of yourself!" Jimin huffed, a pang of guilt gutting him in his middle, but he didn't stop. "Hyung, I can take care of myself."

"Against a bionic? I don't think so."

"What makes you think that you could stand a chance either? He's a BIONIC! He'd never hurt anyone!"

"I'd be able to handle it Jimin."

"What makes you think that I couldnt't?!" Jimin groaned on frustration. "I appreciate the offer but you said it yourself, the weeks to come are gonna be hectic for you, whereas my schedule is completely free."

"Jimin, no, I don't agree with this."

His is face grow hot. "Well, tough because I've made my decision!"

He angrily pressed the hang-up-button and huffed to himself. He felt a little bad about ending the conversation that way, but his feelings of aggravation were overwhelming him at the moment. Jimin was close with Yoongi, as close as friends could get, but he couldn't stand being doubted like that, even if he had made a pretty big decision because of his temper.
He could handle himself.
He could handle this.

"Jimin?"

"Yes?!" He turned to his right, his tone still slightly irritated, and gasped at the sight he saw.

Jungkook was stood before him in nothing but a towel wrapped around his waist; his hair was still wet, and the droplets that fell from the tips cascaded down his perfectly sculpted body and into the crevices of his muscle lines. And he could see the water evaporating from his body and it just looked so-

Jimin thought his head might explode. "WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU'RE WEARING?!"

He sprinted out of the room with his hands covering his eyes, and stood in the hallway with his hand over his fast-beating heart.

He could handle himself.
He could handle this.
