Daniel woke to a blinding light from her window and the blaring noise of her alarm clock, as she had every morning for the past month. At first it had annoyed her, the noise and the light, but after so long living in this room,  it was starting to feel slightly calming.

The young adult swept her strawberry blond waves from her eyes as she sat up from the soft cot she was on, yawning while she did so.

A creak sounded throughout Daniel's disastrous room as she fully stood from her spot, before she pulled her messy hair into a tight bun and wondered over to her dresser.

Once the high school drop out reached her destination she yawned once again, feeling completely exhausted, and took out a white flowing dress that was cut off at the calves.

As well this dress, she had retrieved a pair of black tights that Daniel was sure she had worn every day for the past week or more, although she didn't care.

After she had changed into her clothes for today, she did a quick check in the mirror to make sure was at the very least presentable, then quickly dashed out the room hoping that she would be able to make it in time.

As the toast ejected itself from the toaster, the calmness of the morning was lost to the sound of Daniel coming down the stairs.

"Grandmama! Grandpapa!! I'm coming!!!"

At last, Daniel could be seen sliding down the oak wood banister, hurrying to make it on time. She rushed into the kitchen where an old couple was sat, drinking coffee and eating bread lathered with jam and jelly.

"Honey, you really don't need to do this, you are allowed to stay with us"

The old woman said, looking up towards her granddaughter, who was currently grabbing the newly toasted bread.

"Martha is correct sweety, we have the extra room"

Agreed the old man. Now, Daniel was sitting down with them, quickly munching on a bland piece of toast.

The young woman sighed and swallowed, rolling her eyes as she did so.

"No offense, I love you guys and all, but I've been living with you for more then a year now, plus I need to move closer in town for my job!"

Daniel said, before taking another bite of toast, inevitably swallowing before continuing.

"Besides! It's already final, I paid first rent, so I'm moving into the the shared apartment today, speaking of which, I need to grab my things" she stated as if it was the most obvious thing in the world, and to her, it was.

After shoving her all belongings into a duffle bag and backpack, Daniel was saying her last goodbyes the the ranch house, as well as her grandparents.

"Thank you for everything guys!"

She said, hugging the couple goodbye.

"You will be missed"

Daniel's grandpa replied, holding his granddaughter close.

"I love you!!!"

Daniel called over her shoulder, as she bounded over to the beat up pickup truck she had received for her birthday present after she had gotten her license.

She threw her bags in the back before the young adult jumped into the front and began driving away towards the city.

First non-fanfiction story!!!

I hoped you liked this almost proluge to my story!!  I've been working on it for like a month now because I'm to lazy to be productive XD
