Yusei's Garage Part 4
"Sooooo, you want me to test out the new speed chip you got the other day?" Jaden repeated after Yusei explained what he wanted to do. Almost immediately after the customer left with the engine, Yusei hooked up a few wires to the motorcycle he had in the building and told Jaden what he wanted to try out. Yusei only nodded to what Jaden said, and the latter in turn tilted his head in confusion. "Why do you want me to do it? Don't you have anyone else to test this with?"
"There's not anyone nearby that could help," Yusei replied, still facing his computer. "Plus you're here right now. It'd be nice to check the speed while someone is on the motorcycle."
"Then how do you do it when you're by yourself?!"
"...It's too complicating to explain right now. Do you want to give it a try?"
"Sure thing! Anything for a bud like you, Yusei! Just tell me what to do because I've never driven a motorcycle yet." The black-haired boy nodded again but with a smile. Jaden hopped on the motorcycle and Yusei instructed the former on what he should do. Jaden simply had to rev up the engine to check how fast the motorcycle would go without any problems. It was pretty simple for anyone to do, and luckily Jaden caught on extremely quick and didn't have many problems with running the tests.
"I'm surprised the engine hasn't exploded yet," Yusei admitted after running tests and making a few adjustments along the way.
"Well, it must be lucky!" Jaden grinned after getting off the motorcycle. "A lucky engine."
"I don't think so. It may be because you're here and radiating your luck wherever you go."
"Haha, I don't know about..."
"But you do!" The two laughed it off and Yusei went back to his laptop, seeing if he can make any improvements to that motorcycle's engine. Jaden watched him for a bit, but it didn't take long for him to start up a conversation.
"You know what would make this place feel even more like a workplace?" Jaden said after many moments of silence.
"What would that be?" Yusei asked curiously.
"Just a few pictures for the desks!"
"Pictures?"
"Yeah! Don't you have any?" Yusei froze up for a minute, reminded of his past memories and of the pictures that he did have in his room back at the complex.
"I do," Yusei said with a soft smile. "But I keep them where I need them the most. This place probably wouldn't be the most ideal place to keep them at."
"You do have a point there," Jaden said with a frown. "Then we'll just have to create more pictures so that you can have them here. Mom and Dad keep pictures on their office desks to keep their workplace more lively. Maybe you should too, not that I'm forcing you to do it. It's all up to you."
"I'll think about it. Thanks, Jaden."
"No problem! Now, can we get something to eat? I'm starving." Yusei laughed at Jaden's comment.
"Sure," he replied, his laughter dying down to chuckling.
That's officially the end of the chapter! Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoy more chapters as I continue writing. This has been pretty fun so far. :)
