"See ya guys later!" Lizzy exclaimed with a wave to her friends that stopped by the restaurant.

"Are you going to work late again?" Jaden asked curiously as he and the others stood at the front door.

"Not this time around, Jay. I should be heading back to the complex in an hour or so. I'm a little tired."

"All right. See ya back at the complex!" Lizzy waved at the boys as the latter walked out of the restaurant. Akane bowed to them as they left, her way of thanking them for coming.

"Aren't they a nice bunch of people?" Lizzy smiled while crossing her arms.

"Yes, they are," Akane replied looking at her. "They were really kind to me when I was serving them."

"I knew that they would! Anyone you are...interested in?"

"Huh?! No-No I wouldn't do that. They're your friends." Akane quickly went back to work and began to clean the table, with a light blush on her face. Her modesty didn't allow her to be interested, or even flirt, with guys.

"But since I'm friends with them, I can give you some insight," Lizzy replied with a chuckle. "At least that's what my friend Aaliyah would do. She's always asking me if I'm interested in any guys, especially the ones I'm close to. I mean I don't blame her. They're good looking guys."

"I'd imagine that your friend would do something like that," Akane spoke as she put the dirty dishes away. "Are you interested in those guys?"

"Me?" Well, I'm not sure. I kind of want to do my own thing before I do that."

"Really? Oh, I thought you'd be interested in Jaden."

"Jay?!" Lizzy looked at her co-worker in disbelief. "Oh no, we've had a history already. I don't think it'll work out between me and him."

"Well, it doesn't matter if you've known each other for a long time," Akane mentioned as she went back to the table to get the tip. "I believe that it's not wrong to give it a chance."

"True but I like I said we have a history," Lizzy decided to say, "and I mean a dating history. We went out in high school." Akane gasped in response to what Lizzy just said.

"You two went out in high school?" Lizzy's co-worker repeated in surprise. "How long?"

"We dated for about a year."

"A year? What happened?"

"It's a little complicated to explain, but we basically didn't click together when we initially starting dating. So we decided that being friends would be better for us."

"It must have been. You and Jaden are really good friends now."

"Yup!" Lizzy grinned. "He's one of my closest pals now, alongside with my friends in this city and back at home."

"You mean, including me?" Akane asked softly.

"Of course!" Lizzy happily put her arm around Akane's shoulder. "You're my co-worker buddy! You've always been my friend ever since you started working the late afternoon shift with me."

"Thank you," Akane smiled warmly. "You're a good friend to me as well."

"Why, thank you! I've tried my best to be a friend to all people. It is my mission!" Lizzy pumped her fist in the air with a happy grin while Akane smiled with her.
