The Past Memories Part 1
Jaden put the big, cardboard box on the table in front of the living room couch. He had his cheeky grin again, which was opposite of what he looked like earlier. When he stood still, he was in shock and a bit pale, at least that's what Lizzy thought at the moment. However, she didn't want to ask him what was wrong yet. He seemed excited for what was in the box. The boy sat on the couch and asked Lizzy, "You ready?"
"Yeah, let's see it!" she responded excitedly, sitting next to him. "Open it up." Jaden opened up the box and inside were a bunch of mementos, a stack of papers neatly slanted in the box along with other objects of interest. "Oh, this is high school stuff!"
"You kept a bunch of papers from high school?" Jaden asked, tilting his head in confusion. "Why?"
"Notes from friends, projects from different classes, you name it! I like to keep it because it helps me remember those days in high school."
"But you have a really good memory!"
"I still keep this stuff! It lets me reminisce of my life during school." The boy pouted a little at Lizzy as she reached into the box and grabbed a baby blue colored camera. "Oh my goodness, it's my Polaroid camera!!" she squealed happily, hugging the object.
"You mean that camera that can print the picture instantly?" Jaden clarified, staring at the camera. "The one you had in middle school?!"
"Yup! My cat sticker is still there." Lizzy pointed to the top of the camera and there was a small, worn sticker on it. It was a black cat with blue sunglasses, pointing up as if it was pointing to the top of the camera. "It's still one of the cutest things ever."
"It is pretty cute. Do you think there's any film left in the camera?"
"I'll take a look." As Lizzy investigated the camera, Jaden decided to take a peek inside the box to see what he could find in there. He didn't have to look too deep in the box because he found what seemed to be a trophy that was making some of the stack of papers slanted. He pulled it out and asked,
"Liz, is this a trophy?"
"Yup!" the girl answered, looking at Jaden and the object. "That's my kickboxing trophy. Remember that one time I joined a tournament for no reason?"
"Like what you do all the time?"
"This one is different. I joined a kickboxing tourney because I got really good at the art when I was a freshmen. So, people suggested to participate and I did, managing to win."
"Wow! I don't remember you telling me that story. Do you have any more to tell?" Lizzy smiled warmly at her friend and said,
"I have plenty of stories, Jay. But I don't think all of them are in the box."
"Sure, but I'm positive that there are plenty in this box. Let's see...." Jaden scanned the box and took out a piece of paper. It had all sorts of writing on it, from what seemed to be different people. "How about this one?" the boy asked, handing Lizzy the paper.
"Hmm..." Lizzy said, looking at the paper carefully.
