Friends Visiting Part 4
"I got an idea!" Jewel exclaimed, standing up from her seat on the couch. "Why don't we play with your Duel Monster friends, Lizzy?"
"Hmm...not a bad idea!" Lizzy said with a grin. "But what would we play?"
"I don't know. Why don't they decide? I mean, they're pretty much human like we are."
"Yeah, but they like it when we decide." All of a sudden, the Mythical Beast Cerberus came out of its Duel Monster card and ran towards Lizzy, tackling her down and licking her face excessively. "Cerberus!" the girl laughed while trying to get the beast off of her. "You know that you can't do that when we have visitors, buddy!"
"But we're not technically visitors, Liz!" Keiza laughed as she saw the madness ensure.
"...You have a point! But this was completely unexpected! I need to have a warning next time!!" Lizzy finally got to sit up and rubbed both of Cerberus' faces. "You just need lots of love, don't you?" the girl figured out as she kissed both of their heads gently. "Lots of love!"
"Remember the times when Cerberus didn't behave like a dog?" Summer said to her younger sister Jewel, standing up as well so that she can see both Lizzy and her Duel Monster.
"Nope," Jewel replied bluntly, shrugging at the same time.
"Me neither."
"Well, I have had Cerberus and some of my other Duel Monster pals for a VERY long time," Lizzy mentioned as she stood up. "It only makes sense that some things never change. Besides, Cerberus is pretty much a loyal dog. It will rescue me from any danger! Right, Cerberus?" Cerberus gave a nod to Lizzy and the girl in turn smiled happily.
"Aren't your other Duel Monsters really loyal too?"Jewel asked curiously.
"That's right! I've had most of them ever since I was a little girl, remember? I almost have never been without my Duel Monsters."
"Except for here in the apartment complex," Summer added with a sigh. Lizzy sighed as well.
"Yeah but I'm trying not to be too bummed out about that," Lizzy admitted with a sad smile. "Sometimes I wish that I could use my powers here in this city, but other times I think it's for the better. I don't know, it's super conflicting!"
"But you haven't told anyone here of your powers, correct?"
"Nope, not a soul....actually, there's one soul but that's all to him."
"What do you mean by one soul?" Keiza asked, bending the water in and out of the water bottle repeatedly.
"I mean, that's it," Lizzy clarified. "He's just a spirit, a ghost to be precise. I met him while I was playing a Zelda game with Northy."
"A ghost?! But you can't see ghosts like Nuru!"
"I know but for some reason I can! He's connected to the Duel Monsters game itself, so I'm able to see him like the other monsters."
"Huh..."
"That's something you don't hear of everyday," Jewel said, going over to Cerberus and rubbing his head softly. "Are you going to get to the bottom of it?"
"There is a slight chance of that happening," Lizzy replied, looking at the heavy books that she got from her room when Joey and Jaden were here, talking about the Millennium items. "But we'll see."
That's the end of the chapter part and the end of the chapter entirely! Thanks for reading and look forward to the start of the next chapter tomorrow. See you then! :)
