⍟ 7
It was about 1am when Wonshik woke up to the sound of soft crying and someone shaking his shoulder. He startled awake from the restless sleep he was in, groaning softly as he sat up and rubbed his eyes. "Yeah?" He mumbled, not even sure who it was in front of him, but he had a good idea.
"W-Wonshik, please, can I sleep in here— I don't want to be alone. I-I'm scared, please, please hold me," Jaehwan practically whimpered, breaking Wonshik's heart.
"Come here.." He nodded, holding his arms out. Jaehwan sniffled, still crying pitifully as he climbed into bed with him, immediately cuddling up to him. He wrapped his arms around Wonshik, sniffling as he buried his face in the crook of the other male's neck.
Wonshik could feel his teddy bear in Jaehwan's arms still, he'd brought it with him apparently. He could barely see in the dim neon lighting, but it was just enough for him to know that Jaehwan was holding the stuffed animal like a baby as he bawled his eyes out.
"Do you wanna talk about it?" He asked quietly, rubbing Jaehwan's back. The older male just started to cry harder.
"I dreamt you left me, Shikkie. I was all alone. I was so scared. P-Please.. Please don't ever leave me." He whimpered, clinging onto Wonshik with every ounce of strength he had. "You're all I have."
Wonshik was quiet, at a loss for words. He could never imagine, in a million trillion years, ever leaving Jaehwan. He couldn't even think of a probable cause for why he would.
"Never. I'd never leave you, Jyani. It's okay.. Go back to sleep." He said in the softest voice he could manage, rubbing Jaehwan's back and humming to him till the crying stopped.

When Wonshik woke up the next morning, neither Jaehwan nor the bear were in his bed. He didn't really expect Jaehwan to still be in bed, he always woke up early, after all.. But it just made him wonder if last night had even happened at all, or if it had been a dream.
He brought his shirt up to his nose, inhaling deeply. He smelled like Jaehwan. So maybe he had been there after all.
He was quiet as he shuffled into the kitchen, wondering if Jaehwan was still home or if he'd left for work already. But the smell of food hit him as soon as he had stepped into the hallway, so he must have been around still.
"Morning, Jyani," he said in a soft tone, walking over to him.
Jaehwan turned and gave him a sweet smile, even though he looked tired. Wonshik reached up to fix his hair, then pinched his cheek. "Are you feeling better?"
Jaehwan's cheeks tinted a rosy red. "I'm sorry about that. I just got really scared."
Wonshik quickly shook his head. "I don't mind at all. You can come sleep in my room any time you get scared. Or even just lonely. You don't kick, so I don't mind sharing the bed with you~" he murmured, smiling playfully.
Jaehwan shoved him, blushing as he shoveled the bacon he'd made onto plates for the both of them. "I appreciate that.. But it won't happen again. I'm not a little kid.. I shouldn't be crawling into bed with you like you're my dad."
"Jyani~" Wonshik just chuckled, shaking his head. "I promise, it's fine. I don't mind sharing the bed with you, I mean that." He said, then bit into a piece of bacon after Jaehwan handed him a plate. "Anyways. You gotta work?"
Jaehwan sulked, sitting down at the table. "I work afternoon shift. I'm training the new employee we just got. I have the second highest seniority.. Hakyeon's sick, I guess." He pouted as he viciously bit into his food. "He's faking it, though. I know he is."
Wonshik chuckled softly. "Ah, he left you with the hard job, huh?" He teased.
"Knowing my luck recently, yes."
He shrugged. "It can't be that bad. You're making coffee. It only took me like an hour to train Hongbin." He said, shaking his head. "Should be easy for you. I know how much you love people."
Jaehwan gave Wonshik a look of offense, scoffing. "I am not just making coffee! There's so much work that goes into my job ; i have to teach this new person the whole menu, give them a safety lesson, show them how to brew coffee, what to clean, all our rules and policies.." he stared across the table with a mean pout. "All you had to do was show Hongbin how and where to stack boxes!" He snapped.
Wonshik shrugged, holding up his hands in submission. "Okay, okay, I get it. It's a lot of work."
"Plus what if this new person is super mean! Or really clumsy and burns themselves on the first day? It's stressing me out just thinking about it!" He lamented.
Wonshik reached over and gently patted his back. "Jyani, calm down. You'll be fine. I know it. You get along with all sorts of people just fine."
Jaehwan let out a soft sigh, nodding as he nibbled on his bacon. "I guess so.
