She had just had an internal conversation with an employee and wanted to continue working. Suddenly she was called by a number she didn't really know ,... is this about the number of - of Phil ?!!
Maria had told her, but she had not had any contact with him since then. She had had no contact with him for a very long time.

Self-confident from the outside, full of fear and trembling from the inside, she accepted the conversation and came forward formally, as always and as it should be.

"Hello here is Melinda May from the S.H.I.E.L.D. office of Maria Hill. How can I help?"

May heard a short and quiet laugh.

"Hello Melinda. It's also nice to hear your voice."

"Hello Phil."
she tried to sound surprised.

"Hey. You don't want to tell me that you didn't recognize my number ?! Or ?"

"Why are you calling ? Everything all right Phil ? "

"Yeah, sure. It's nice to still have a little of your caring vein coming through."

She just kept a comment on it to herself. 

"I call you, because... Well, actually I don't really know myself. I missed hearing your voice somehow and wanted to get in touch with you. "

He was so sweet when he worried... No stop!!! Melinda that you do not have to think.
Don't forget, Maria had told you Coulson is now with this Audry and she should be damn happy for him!!!

"Melinda are you still there ?! Hello .. Earth to Melinda May ! "

"Yes, I'm here. Sorry. So, um, I'm... I'm kind of glad to hear your voice, too, Phil.

"Hey May, after this mission in New York, I'll come to your office and maybe we can do something together."

"That sounds great. I'll wait for you then. "

"Well, I'll see you later, Melinda."

"Good by Coulson."
