Likewise, you already know me as a fangirl of the manga and anime Aoharu X Kikanjuu. TBH, as I watched too many animes and cannot determine which is really my favorite. Imagine that? I already have watched more than a hundred anime titles since my childhood days.

How did I discovered AxK?

While browsing the upcoming anime chart in a certain anime site, Aoharu X Kikanjuu caught my attention because the said heroine, which is Hotaru crossdresses as a male that made me empathize with the character as I'm also boyish the way I dress and the way I act. In addition to that, the character's comrades is a host named Matsuoka Masamune and an ero-manga artist Yukimura Tohru that made me curious on what the story will turn-out when she meets the two.

My First Impression:

According on the sypnosis of the anime, the plot is where 'survival games' takes place, that I thought it will be an all-gore and violent anime that I often read I the manga BTOOM!, Battle Royale, Cage of Eden and Doubt but it turns out that they only held this game during weekends and with toyguns that are harmless that made me disappointed. But guess what? After watching episode one to four, I got addicted to the anime because of its fanservices like covert BL scenes on how Yukki acts intimately to his bestfriend Mattsun or Fujimon acts like a girlfriend (More likely a slave) to Midori as he does the odd jobs and also the cooking for him. I'll never forget the scene where Fujimon goes to Midori's apartment. While Fujimon is cooking him breakfast, Midori came out from the shower wearing only his boxers.

How Do I Describe these fabulous 'Ikemen'?

Actually,

I see Fujimon as a husband material for me.

While Midori is the superior type.

Yukki as the naughty and introverted type.

And Mattsun as the ladies- man type.

... It made me thought of this anime is supposed to be a reverse harem. LOL XD

How Did The Anime Turned Out?

Aoharu has no definite plot as I assume that their agenda is to defeat team Hoshishiro but it turned out that they lost to them in episode eight and will be facing another opponent in the latter chapters in the manga. I addition to that, Hotaru has a hard time confessing her true gender to her comrades as she learned in episode five that their team is not allowing females members to their group.

It turned out that the final episode of the series is a cliffhanger. In the OVA, I'm expecting for the continuation of the final scene of the last episode but it turned out to be an 'extra episode' where they participated TCC that they will cosplay, playing survival games. My friend and I hoped that Hotaru will cosplay as a girl in there but she wore the mascot of NAOE sensei which is a panda costume that made us frustrated.

And don't forget the man in the black hoodie as we encountered him in episode three and eleven I presume. Who is he anyway and what will he become of meeting our heroine?

As the plot branched out because of the other characters' issues I recommend you to read the manga if you're not satisfied with the ending. I won't be telling any spoilers in the manga because I hate being spoiled as you do guys.

Bottomline:

I will ask you guys. Should this be even better if the anime's plot is a real survival games that you would kill off your opponentss? Hahahaha! I doubt not, as many of my fellow fangirls are underaged who's likely to be not fans violent shows. And its hard to cramp the fanservice things and the comedy scenes if this were a violent and gory anime. I really want the anime's plot to be a real-deal survival game like most male viewers do, because I'm a woman with a man's sense of humor.. LOL XD But nevertheless, the anime stands on its own because it is different from your all-school themed and romance genred animes, A high school student dealing with eccentric adults who are almost ten years her senior in survival games would be a different turn-around theme from most of the animes. Too bad it has only thirteen episodes. But I do hope that there will be a second season because I want the Hosokawa twins to show up in the anime!!!
