"Chris you got mail" my mama said from downstairs

"Really? Who's it from? Who's it from? Who's it from?" I got off my bed and jogged downstairs

"Jive recording label" she smiled at me

"Really?" I took the mail from her hand

"Open it" she beamed

"Ain't gotta tell me twice" I started opening it but I stopped "Wait...what if they don't want me?" I sat the half opened letter on the counter

"Then it's their loss and you're gonna' keep pushing until your dreams come true" she said

I sighed, picking the letter up "...Ok" I finished opening it

I skimmed through it, peeping out the important parts, then I finally got to the most important part of all. It read: Jive records wants to sign you.

"Mama..." I tapped her shoulder

"What does it say?" she asked quickly

"Read it for yourself" I pretended to be sad

Her tone started off gloomy "Jive records..." but brightened up as she read "...wants to sign you! They want you!" she smiled hard, hugging me tightly

"Who wouldn't want me?" I spoke with confidence

"Says the person who was just having self doubt" she chuckled

"They wanna do a phone interview next Monday at 4pm." I continued reading

"My baby's a gonna be a star" she wiped tears from her eyes "I'm so proud of you" she hugged me again

"I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for you...literally" I grinned, laughing

"Shut up boy" she slapped the back of my head playfully

I gotta go tell Heaven

"I'll be right back" I put the letter down and grabbed my keys

"Don't go telling the whole universe yet, Chris" she said

"I'm not." I smacked my teeth, pecking her forehead "You don't either" I laughed lightly before leaving

I smiled the entire way to Heaven's house. I know me and her aren't together but, she's the 2nd special person in my life and I want to share the good news with her. 

I pulled up to her house, quickly got out, and knocked on her door rapidly.

"Heav! Open up I got good news" I said, continuously knocking

She finally answered "Why are you knocking like that?" she stepped on the porch, closing the door behind her

"Babygirl they wanna sign me" I said, smiling bright as the sun

"Jive?" she gasped, covering her mouth

"Yup" I nodded

She was the first person I told when the agent gave me his card a while back.

"I knew it, I knew it" she smiled for the first time in a while

"They want a phone interview with me next Monday. If that goes good then they flying me out soon as they can" I explained

"Chris I'm so proud of you, I really am" her smiled remained on her face "I remember how nervous you were when you sent in your audition tape" she chuckled

"...And you told me not to worry. You had faith in me when I didn't have faith in myself" I stated

"Your an amazing artist and person. Whoever doesn't have faith in you is crazy" she responded

"Heaven, I love you so much"

"I love you too" she spoke back, almost instantly

"And it's ok if you just wanna be friends. I can live with that." I towered over her frame

"You're gonna be leaving soon anyway" she shrugged

"But if we ever meet up again, I'm kissing you right on the spot. I don't care if you with somebody else" I explained to her in all seriousness

"But what if you with somebody?" she asked

"Fuck her. She ain't you" I smirked

She shook her head, giggling "I love you, Chris"

"I love you too, babygirl" I embraced her in a tight hug

When we pulled away from the hug, I quickly placed my lips on hers, kissing her like it was the last time- who knows? It could be- she hesitated at first but kissed back. I pulled her in by her hips, leaving no space in between us. She slipped her tongue in my mouth and I returned the action. Her soft lips moved in sync with mine as she rested her arms on my shoulders. She moaned softly as I softly squeezed her ass in my hands. This kiss had been going on for about 2 minutes now and neither one of us wanted to pull away.

"Heaven you got a call" her uncle cleared his throat

We quickly pulled away from each other, turning our attention to him. She grabbed the phone from him and he went back inside.

"Heav, I'll see you later" I said to her

She shook her head, signaling she wanted me to stay. She put the phone on speaker and waited for the voice to talk.

"Ms. Barnes, this is Mr. Williams from The University of California. I'd like to gladly say that you've been accepted and we'll see you in the fall." the male voice spoke

I smiled, listening to it as well.

"I got in!" she cheered

"I'm so proud of you babygirl" I hugged her again, smiling

My baby made it.

"Thank you." she said as we pulled away  "I can't believe it" she chuckled, shaking her head

"Well believe it. You did it, Heaven" I smiled down at her

"You did it, Chris" she smiled up at me

"I'll see you around"

"Yeah...I'll see you around" she nodded, smiling hard

I got in my car, took one last look at her beautiful face, and drove back home.

I'ma love her anyway...
