"What you standing here for?" Keyona approached me

"Waiting on Chris. The teacher had to talk to him about something in person" I explained

"Oh ok. So there's this party next Friday and-"

"I don't think I'll be going" I declined

"Why not? It's gonna be fun" Keyona explained

"I'm not much of the partying type. Besides, you remember what happened last time" I explained

"It was a mistake last time. Just make sure it doesn't happen again" she shrugged

"That's the thing, it wasn't." I started "You remember the detective I told you my uncle hired?"

"Yeah."

"He said that somebody meant to poison me" I said

"How does he know? He's not even a cop, he's just some detective" she smacked her teeth

"He's a de-tec-tive, Keyona." I squinted at her "It's his job to detect things." I emphasized on detect

"Well...still come." she shrugged "It won't be no drink spiking, I promise. You'll be under my watch" she smiled

Nah. I'm cool" I shook my head

"Your loss" she shrugged, walking off to the cafeteria

"Wassup baby" Chris came out of the class

"Everything good?" I asked

"Yeah. He just wanted to talk to me about getting tutoring" he sighed

"Well I can help you. I got a B in his class" I shrugged

"Could you?"

"Yeah. Anything for my baby" I cooed

"Anything?" he smirked

"Not any and everything just yet, nasty" I playfully pushed his chest

"You said it" he raised his hands in surrender

"Shut up" I smacked my teeth, putting my books in my locker "Keyona asked me about going to a party next Friday" I stated

"And you said?"

"No" I simply replied, closing my locked

"Good. We don't want a reenactment of last time" he said

"Definitely not."

"Besides I got other plans for us to-"

"Pictures here! Get your pictures here!" Chantelle's and Elijah's voices could be heard as we entered the cafeteria

"I wonder what's going on" Chris said

"Hurry up before they all gone!" Chantelle said

"Aye bruh. Let me talk to you real quick" Mario pulled Chris away

"Somebody got a picture of you and Keyona kissing." Keeis started

"They copied them and they passing them out" Mario finished

"Get Heaven out of here before she see it" the said in unison

"How'd they get this?" I asked, looking at the picture

It was an old picture of when me and Keyona used to date, but I still don't want Heaven knowing anything about it.

"Good looking out" I said before heading back over to her

By the time I got there it was already to late. She had the picture in her hand

"Why didn't you tell me?" she asked

"Babygirl, let's go where it's quiet" I took her hand, leading her out the cafeteria and into the hall

"Why didn't you tell me?" she repeated

"Look, it was before you got here. I didn't think you'd wanna know" I explained

"I'm fine with the fact that y'all dated, but the fact that y'all still talking to each other bothers me." she shook her head

"Me and her didn't even say 2 words to each other before you you got here. You and her started being friends and I was tryna' get with you so I overlooked it" I shrugged

"I'm tripping" she started chuckling

"You good?" I gave her an unsure look

"Yeah. It was before I even got here so I can't stress over it" she shrugged before walking off

What the fuck...

"Heav just had a big smile on her face. Everything cool?" Mario and Keeis walked over to me

"I guess" I shrugged "She said she was tripping so I don't know"

"That's code for she gone kill you" Mario shook his head

"Yup" Keeis chimed

"Y'all niggas overreacting. She said she was good" I smacked my teeth

"If that's what you wanna' believe." Keeis said

Just needed to build stuff up so we can get to the real drama.
