As the Aro girls pulled into the driveway of their quaint house Seazynn, Indigo's younger sister, popped her head through the gap between the driver and passengers seat, "Oh my god! Is that Kate?" she gasped pointing at their porch where the blonde stood looking down at her phone.

Indigo felt her body tense as she brought her head up from her phone and saw the girl standing there. It was just like how it had been when they were younger.

"¿Por qué Kate aquí?" Indigo's mom, Angélica, asked as she pulled the shift into park.

"She wanted to talk about something" she just shrugged as the car was turned off and all the girls got out.

"Dile que puede quedarse a cenar, si quiere" she said with a smile as she grabbed some food out the back of the car and headed for the door to the home. Indigo watched her mom give Kate a quick pat on the back before going inside, and then she saw her sister basically run and jump onto the tall girl.

"Kate!" Seazynn yelled wrapping her arms around and squeezing her. "You have to stay for dinner! We brought food home from church and I made a pecan pie!"

"I'll have to talk to your sister about that" Kate laughed as her eyes were drawn to the oldest Aro girl standing far away wrapped in a long winter coat. She noticed the way her cheeks were red from the coldness of winter and the way her eyes seemed to be sadder than usual.

"Please let her stay! I've missed her so much!" the girl begged turning to her sister, which Indigo just waved off.

"Why don't you go help mom inside. Me and Kate have to talk" the girl smiled, which Seazynn followed by going inside the house but not before giving Kate a quick hug and telling her how much she missed her again. "So" the dark haired girl started as she walked closer.

"I have something for you" Kate said bringing out a small white box from her jacket pocket and handing it over to the girl. "I know you probably don't want a present from me, but I've had it for a while"

Indigo took the box in her hands and carefully removed the top of it to reveal a gold crucifix and sacred heart necklace. The girls eyes immediately welled as she looked at it, it looked like the exact one her father had gotten her for her confirmation when she was in high school. "It looks just like the one my dad gave me. I was so sad when I lost it" Indi finally looked up making eye contact with the girls beautiful blue eyes.

"It is. My mom found it while cleaning around our house, so I got it fixed up" the girl smiled telling her about her findings of the lost necklace.

"Thank you" she whispered her eyes staring at the necklace as her fingers traced the cross. This is when the tears broke from her eyes and began falling down her face. Kate immediately walked over to her and embraced her in a hug as Indigos tears soaked her jacket.

"Sh, sh," the blonde rested her hand on the girls head, "Whats wrong?" she whispered in the girls ear.

"I'm so sorry" she croaked out with her voice breaking.

"You have nothing to be sorry for"

"Yes I do. I've been such an ass to you because of Starr and—and I never wanted that to happen" she started rambling but was cut off by the blonde.

"It's not your fault you're dating the most insecure person on planet earth" this caused Indigo to pull back and give Kate a look, "Sorry"

"You aren't wrong though" Indigo shrugged.

"So like why are you with her? I mean you should've never gave her another chance after that shit show of a first date" Kate asked, which Indigo just shook her head to, as she was too embarrassed to tell her actual reasoning. "What?"

"No it's embarrassing" she responded wiping some of the tears from her face, which Kate quickly took over doing as her thumb gently rubbed against the girls cheek.

"Come on" the girl encouraged, but Indi stood her ground because how she supposed to say "Yeah I started dating someone to make you jealous and hope you realize you want me too!" without sounding like a crazy person. "Ok don't tell me, but I'll get it out of you"

"Sure you will" Indigo squinted her eyes as looked up at Kate. "But you can stay for dinner if you want to"

"An Aro family dinner? God I've missed the food" Kate smiled rubbing her stomach, which made Indigo laugh. The two entered the house together causing Seazynn to jump up from her chair because she was so excited Kate was staying for dinner.

"Ok you have to try my pie!" she yelled running back into the kitchen and bringing it to the table.

"¡Nada de deseret antes de la cena!" Ms. Aro yelled making the young girl set down her pie before they all joined at the table. They all sat down and said the "our father" prayer together before digging into the food.

Conversation flew between them all almost as if the two girls never stopped being friends. It was just like how it was when they were younger. Kate only knew some Spanish, so Mrs. Aro spoke in english for the night as they all thought back on the memories of the two girls in the house. Several stories of Mr. Aro were brought up, which made Kate's stomach sick as she remembered her not attending the funeral because of her feelings for his daughter.

And as dinner came to a close and Kate tried Seazynn amazing pecan pie, it was time for the blonde to leave. Indigo walked Kate to the front door and they stood there just looked at one another.

"Could you put the necklace on me?" the smaller girl asked bringing out the box again, which Kate quickly nodded and took the box. Indigo turned around as Kate's fingers danced on the skin of her neck, pushing her hair to the side. Indigo felt the girls breath on her neck as she clipped the two sides together, sending chills down her body. As she turned around she had her hand wrapped around the necklace looking at it. "I also got you something" the girl said walking away quickly and bringing back a small wrapped box. "Promise me you'll open it on Christmas morning" she stated putting her pinky finger out.

"I promise" Kate crossed her heart before intertwining their fingers and putting their thumbs together before kissing the pinky promise. "I'll see you back in Iowa" Kate smiled before walking out the front door.

"So, y'all still aren't dating?" Seazynn asked with a clear look of judgment across her face.

"Shut up" Indigo rolled her eyes walking past her sister.
