The air was crisp as the basketball player made her way into practice. Her mind had been clouded about the kiss her and her friend shared a couple weeks ago. Ever since that night there had been an awkward tension between the two, and Kate could clearly notice it in every interaction they had.

The once funny and entertaining conversations they had were now replaced with stilted and uneasy silences as they only ever glanced at each other, too scared to make eye contact. Deep down the blonde knew that she needed to address what had happened before they were too far gone and their friendship was down the drain.

Throughout practice her mind kept replaying the moment over and over again. The way Indigo's brown eyes captivated her when their eyes locked. How her lips felt soft against her own and the way the small of her back fit perfectly against her hand. It was as if the moment was put on repeat as it was the only thing filling her mind.

And once practice was over she knew that she needed to talk to the brunette. She needed to know if these same feelings were eating her alive.

Kate knew that she was most likely at the dance studio. It was where she could be found at all times. The blonde was aware that the studio was the girls safe space and she always went there to think. She even knew that Indigo had her own code to get into the building because she would sometimes go in the middle of the night trying to get whatever out her head out on the floor.

As Kate pulled up to the large studio, she got out of her car and was hit with the chilling wind. She made her way to the door typing in Indigo's code, anything that Indigo needed a password for she would always use her birthday. Kate punched in the numbers 01,23,01, which allowed her to enter into the warm building.

The women sitting at the front desk, but ultimately let her go as she had got in using a code. Kate walked over to the elevator pressing the number 2 to take her up to the second level, as she stepped out she made her walk to room that she usually found the girl in.

Kate watched the girl gracefully move her body through the two sided mirror. It allowed her to see in, but Indi couldn't see that the girl was standing outside. She watched her until Indigo decided it was time for a break to grab some water. Kate let out a deep breath she had been holding as she stretched her fingers before reaching to the door handle. She quickly opened it and walked in, the other girl still not noticing her until the door slammed shut causing her head to snap around.

"Sorry" Kate whispered rocking onto the back of her heels. There was a silence between the two as Indigo was sat on the wooden floor looking up at the blonde. "So..." Kate started walking closer to the girl, "we need to talk" the girls voice was filled with uncertainty as she talked.

"You say that a lot, ya know?" Indi let out a low laugh as she re-wrapped the ribbon, from her point shoes, around her ankle. Another moment of silence fell between them until Indigo was the first to break it, "About what?" she asked, but she most definitely was aware of the topic Kate wanted to bring up.

"Come on, In, you know" Kate replied cocking her head to the side and giving the girl a knowing look. Indigo just nodded her head as a response. "So about the other night..." Kate started.

"Look I understand if you just wanna forget it happened" the girl said cutting Kate off from her thought, making the blonde make a confused face, which she quickly tried to cover up.

"Um yeah" Kate nodded her head, not wanting Indigo to feel like anything needed to happen between them after sharing the kiss. "I'm kinda talking to someone at the moment, so I guess that'd be for the best" The blonde spoke, but immediately wished she had held her tongue.

"Oh" the girl on the ground responded, "Good for you Kate. I hope it goes well" she smiled standing up. On the outside she wanted to appear as if that simple sentence didn't break her heart into tiny pieces of glass, so she put on a small smile as she congratulated the girl.

Though Kate had basically just told a complete lie, well almost complete. She had been snapping the waitress from the restaurant, Sienna, for a while now and they had a few flirty conversations here and there, but nothing as serious as she had led on.

"Thanks" the girl just nodded her head as she began to pick at the skin around her nails, "I just wanted to clear the air ya know" she gave a tight lipped smile.

"Yeah, yeah, cool" Indigo nodded trying to keep her face from turning into a shade of red from the jealousy filling her body as well as the dropping feeling happening in her stomach.

The tension between the two was now even more worse. "See you later" Kate said before she made her way out of the room, leaving Indigo by herself.

The brunette felt an overwhelming feeling of embarrassment at the thought that she might even had a chance with the blonde basketball player. She couldn't believe that she had let everyone's talk had gotten in her head about Kate actually liking her. She wished she had just stuck to her own thoughts because then she wouldn't be feeling this way.

That night the Aro girl did not get home until 3am as she had spent all of her time in the studio. Every now and again she had the embarrassment feelings take over as she replayed all their interactions in her head, trying to figure out why she thought the girl liked her, when clearly she didn't.
