Chapter One, The Cullen Family

Persephone Cullen sat next to her brother and impatiently tapped her pen on the table. Sometimes, it was tough repeating high school over and over again. Especially when sitting in class subjects she hated even as a human. It was also a pain never learning anything new, they already knew everything.

At times, the thought of compelling the office lady to drop her from biology and English came to mind. But Persephone didn't want to disappoint her parents, Esme and Carlisle Cullen.

The gift possessed by the half-vampire was unique and very useful to the family. Much like Edward and Alice's gift. Alice could see the future and decide whether or not they could attend school. She could also see any future problems or threats. And make the Cullen family a lot richer each day but playing the stock market.

Edward could read anyone's thoughts and make sure their secret was safely hidden. The only downside was he couldn't turn it off. So he hears voices in his head all day. And that gets annoying fast. Especially hearing boys think about his sisters in an inappropriate way. The worst part was that he couldn't call them out on it, instead, Edward had to bite his tongue and stay quiet.

Persephone also had a gift that helped the family. Over the decades, there have been a couple of bright humans who have come to guess what the Cullen family truly was. While some became a little too obsessed with finding out. However, each time that happens Persephone has a little chat with them. Which ended with them no longer knowing and caring about their little theories.

"Miss Hale, would you happen to know the answer?" Seeing as you're so distracted, looking out the window. Mr. Berty their English teacher asks hiding his smirk.

"1976," Edward whispers so lowly only Persephone is able to hear.

"Yes, Mr Berty. The answer would be 1976." The young blonde answers making Mr Berty's smirk drop and he forces a small smile.

"Correct, thank you." He let out forcefully and cursed under his breath. Most teachers hated how perfect and smart the Cullen children were. So oftentimes, they tried to get them to slip up and get something wrong. Which has never happened.

Both the Cullen and Hale kids received 100% on every assignment or test given to them. Their GPAs were all 4.0 and they had A+ in each class. Carlisle and Esme also played supportive parents at school events or parent-teacher conferences.

Some students even predicted that Carlisle wanted all of them to follow in his footsteps, all becoming doctors. Also much to their amusement, there was a rumor that Carlisle worked them so hard and they spent all day studying. And they could get disowned if they received anything below an A+.

This couldn't be further from the truth, since Carlisle and Esme hated when one of their kids left even if it was temporary.

The bell rang meaning they were dismissed to attend lunch, Persephone put all her belongings inside the backpack and grabbed Edward's arm before both walked out.

"Emmett is planning to mess with your lunch." Edward calmly says exposing their brother's intentions.

That made the blonde laugh, "Seriously? He's still upset about losing at Monopoly?"

"Super bitter, he still thinks you cheated," Edward smirked remembering the events of last night.

"He'll be super angry if he finds out, Rose was the one that let me cheat." Persephone laughs so beautifully and elegantly that some head snaps in her direction. Simply, admiring her.

"Please stop making people fall in love with you." Edward smiles hearing the thoughts about his sister.

"I didn't even do anything," Persephone says in confusion making Edward smile at her innocence and kiss her forehead since he was taller.

Both vampires see Rosalie, Emmett, Alice, and Jasper waiting for them outside the cafeteria. Persephone looks straight at Emmett to see him looking around not meeting her eyes. Most likely trying to distract his thoughts from Edward.

From the other side of the cafeteria sat Jessica, Angela with the new girl Isabella Swan.

"Who are they?" She awkwardly asks staring at the beautiful-looking students that were walking by outside. She hadn't really meant to ask but curiosity got the better of her.

The only person who looked at her while walking by was Alice with a smile and a knowing look.

Both girls turn to see but they already know who Bella is talking about.

Angela answers with a smile, "The Cullen's." trying to say it lowly hoping others don't overhear their conversation.

Jessica looks away from them, and looks at Angela before grinning and leaning in, "They're Dr. And Mrs. Cullen's foster kids. They moved down here from Alaska, like, a few years ago."

Angela continues as Rose and Emmett walk in, "They kind of keep to themselves."

Jessica turns to look at them and looks back at Bella, "Yeah, 'cause they're all together. Like, together, together." She tells Bella with wide eyes which shocked the girl who wasn't expecting that answer.

Bella looks behind Jessica as she keeps talking, "The blonde girl that's Rosalie, and the big dark-haired guy, Emmett. They're like a thing. I'm not even sure that's legal.

Bella notices has beautiful Rosalie truly is, and immediately feels like she is the most beautiful girl she's ever seen.

"They're a thing," Jessica continued, "I'm not even sure that's legal."

Angela scoffed and shook her head interrupting her friend. "Jess, they're not actually related."

Jessica shrugged not caring about Angela's words, "Yeah, but they live together. It's weird." Like it was planned, Alice and Jasper walk by.

Making sure to keep a low voice Jessica continued, "Okay, and the little dark-haired girl, Alice, she's really weird. She's with Jasper, the blonde one who looks like he's in pain."

Bella's eyes casually looked at the couple picking up every detail and she too could see why others would think Jasper was in pain.

Jasper walked by and kept a tight grip on Alice's hand, while Alice danced and twirled to their lunch table. both pretty much in their own world.

"Um, Dr. Cullen's, like, this foster dad slash matchmaker," Jessica said, grinning thinking about the handsome doctor.

"Maybe he'll adopt me," Angela joked, which earned a laugh from both Bella and Jessica.

Bella looked at the door once again to see two others just as handsome and stunning as the rest. Bella couldn't take her eyes off both of them. They walked so elegantly and everything about them was perfect.

"What about them?" she asked, her voice low and eyes not pulling away from them. Both walk by, making their way to their family table.

"The guy is Edward Cullen," Jessica said, with wide eyes. "He's totally gorgeous, obviously. But apparently, no one here is good enough for him."

Edward overhearing Jessica's words smiled in amusement and squeezed Persephone's hand.

"Like I care, you know?" she mumbled, looking down and giving an awkward laugh. Making Bella notice that she did clearly care. Bella even assumed he'd rejected her a couple of times, "Seriously though, don't waste your time."

"I wasn't planning on it," Bella mumbled taking a peek at Edward Cullen once again seeing his arm around the beautiful blonde.

"The blonde next to him is Persephone Cullen, she was Dr. Cullen and Mrs. Cullen's first adopted child. She's so beautiful, I mean look at her."

Bella looks at her and immediately regrets her earlier words. Persephone Cullen was the most beautiful flawless person she's ever going to see in her life. She looks like an actual model or movie star, not a hair out of place.

Persephone was most likely wearing designer clothes, and it looked like the clothes were made specifically for her. They fit her so perfectly and she looked unreal. She was wearing a black headband, a white crop long-sleeve top, black tights, and a white-brown skirt.

"We're not sure if she's dating Edward Cullen because they act like a couple but at the same time they don't. She also rejects every guy who asks her out, so if you swing that way don't bother with her." Jessica says once again bitter. Mike has been obsessed with Persephone Cullen since the first day she arrived and Jess hated that.

"Which ones are the Cullens?" Bella asked. "They don't look related.."

"Oh, they're not. Dr. Cullen is really young, in his twenties or early thirties. They're all adopted. The Hales are brother and sister, twins, and they're all foster children."

"They look a little old for foster children." Bella comments.

"They are now, Jasper and Rosalie are both eighteen, but they've been with Mrs. Cullen since they were eight. She's their aunt or something like that?" Jess adds which makes Bella wonder how in the world, she could know that.

"That's really nice of them, to take in and take care of all those kids since they're so young and everything."

"I guess so," Jessica admitted reluctantly, Bella thought Jessica looked jealous.

"I think that Mrs. Cullen can't have any kids, though," she added as if it was necessary. They all continue to eat as Jessica continues to gossip about other students.

On the other side of the cafeteria, Emmett attempted to make Persephone look the other way so it could sneak in pickles in her sandwich. Because Persephone Cullen hated pickles. She was also a very picky eater.

For example, she hated school food so Esme always made her lunch. Persephone was grateful and Esme loved the gesture. It made her feel needed and like a real human mother.

Esme and Persephone have a really close bond compared to the other kids. Since Persephone is the only one that eats human food, they enjoy baking and cooking together. However, the blonde could never finish all the food made so it gets thrown out most of the time. But it's the time spent together that really counts.

"Emmett, touch my food and I'll kill you," Persephone tells Emmett with a glare making him pout like a child.

"You told her." He glares at Edward who simply shrugs not caring about Emmett's annoyed, thoughts.

"I could have told you it wouldn't work," Alice says smiling holding Jaspers's hand.

"Jessica Stanley is giving the new Swan girl all the dirty laundry on the Cullen clan," Edward comments trying to change the subject and block out Jessica's negative thoughts.

Emmett smirks, "I hope she's making it good." Making Rose roll her eyes and elbow him softly.

Persephone noticed how Edward kept glancing at the new girl's table. Which was odd, he's never been interested in any human this much before.

Edward? Are you okay? You look worried. Persephone thinks as she leaned forward placing her hand on his arm.

"I can't read her thoughts. It's just silence." He whispers and is glad the rest of his family were distracted so only Persephone heard.

How odd. I wonder if I can compel her. The blonde thinks making Edward shrug.

The bell rang once again and the Cullen's all got up to go to class. Persephone passed her trash to Emmett and gave an innocent smile, "Could you throw my trash away please?"

Emmett doesn't reply and just takes the trash. Despite, being annoyed about last night's events he loved Persephone and was the most protective of her.

"So, is the new one afraid of us yet?" Emmett asked as he stood up. Edward shrugs causing Emmett to groan and look at Persephone.

"I bet, she's scared of you Em." She softly says, causing Emmett to nod proudly, and smile.

Big teddy bear. Persephone thinks as Emmett kisses her forehead which makes Edward smile.

"Come on, I'll walk you to class," Edward tells her, trying not to think about the new girl.

Author notes: this story will be a cold one x shapeshifter one. But the question is WHICH ONE? Who should the love interest be?

I want to hear your thoughts and opinions. I'm gonna be honest, it's going to take a while before she meets the wolf pack because I'm not sure if I should write out Twilight with Persephone included. Would you like that? or would it be better to start at New Moon?

Also, updates will be slow but I will try to at least update once every two weeks.
