Matthews' apartment at 12:00

Maya's POV

I walked down the hall to meet Josh at Topanga's.

"Hey peaches!" Riley called to me from down the hall. "Where ya going?" Riley ran up to me.

"I have a date." I answered.

"Oh yeah." Riley rolled her eyes. "With my uncle."

"Yeah that's the one." I started walking away, but Riley stopped me.

"Maya, he might be only 18 now, but soon he'll be 19, and you'll go back to being 3 years younger than him. And he's an older guy! Bad things can happen when young girls go out with older guys." Riley warned me.

"Riles, he's your uncle! I trust him. Why don't you?" I asked.

"I trusted him before. But now that you two are dating, not so much." she replied.

"Riley, look, I'm gonna be late. I have to go." I said while pushing past her.

"Okay, but don't say I didn't warn you!" Riley called after me.

"Blah blah blahhhh blah blah blah-" I kept this up until I reached the elevator.

Riley can't tell me who I should or shouldn't trust!

I walked down the busy streets of New York.

It was the same old, same old boring New York City I know and love.

Smelly fumes coming from taxis, people bustling to the subway, oh, and that guy over there getting mugged.

I walked into Topanga's and scanned the room for Josh.

He looked up at me and waved.

"Hey Maya! Good to see you." He said.

"Good to see you, too." I said in reply. "So what were you up to this morning?" I asked him.

"I was going back to my old dorm room to get the last of my stuff." He patted a backpack next to his seat.

We ordered our food and started up a lively conversation.

"So what college are you planning to go to in two years?" Josh asked.

"I'm planning on going to NYU. Or maybe Miami International University of Art and Design." I replied.

"Ah, still into art." He grinned.

"Of course." I grinned back. We stared at each other for what seemed like hours.

We talked a bit about college, what it was like, what to do, what not to do, what courses to take, the hard courses, the easy ones and so on and so forth.

Then we got our food.

I got fries, a coke, and a sandwich. Josh got the same.

I finished everything on my plate before Josh even took his first bite. I sat there licking my fingers while he stared at me. "What?" I asked.

"Wow, are you hiding your food in your pockets? Or do you have a mini vacuum in your sleeve?" He teased. He doesn't know why, and I don't want him to feel bad that he made that joke.

"I've been living with my mom more than with Riley, and we don't have a lot of food at my house. I pretty much binge eat when I get the chance."

He gave me a pity smile.

"Don't give me that look, boy!" I said it with sass. "I hate it when people pity me. They act as if I'm not even human. Like I'm less than them. Like I have no value." I drifted off.

I was expecting him to apologize, but I was very wrong.

out of the blue, he leaned over and kissed me! Right on the lips!

I pulled back before he did.

"Hey, what's wrong? What? You've never been kissed before?" Josh teased.

My first kiss was with my dream guy. It's a good thing I was sitting down, because if I was standing, I would've fallen over backwards!

"That was my first time." I said quietly.

"Wow! That's surprising since you're so frickin' cute." Josh smirked at me. I rolled my eyes.

"I can kinda tell that you've kissed a few girls yourself." I pointed out.

"That obvious? Yeah. I don't mean to brag, but I've gotten pretty good at it." Josh snickered.

"Whatever, weirdo." I said and punched him in the arm.

The rest of the date we pretty much just stared at the other person's face. It was awkward!

After lunch, we walked through the park holding hands the entire time.

We sat down on a park bench. Josh started to slowly lean in like he was gonna kiss me!! I had a silent dance party in my head as he got closer and closer.

"Maya! Is that you?" A boy from school came running up to us. Josh jerked back so far, he probably had a serious case of whiplash now. I took a closer look at the guy who came running up to us.

It was Andrew! He had pitch black hair, dark eyes that looked like the midnight sky, a round face and a narrow chin. His face was innocent-looking and almost childlike. It was pretty easy to tell that he used that face to get away with some stuff and keep himself from getting in trouble. Classic f--kboy attitude, but he was really nice. Well, once you get to know him like I have.

"Hey Andrew!" I said while giving him a hug.

I glanced at Josh. He looked confused and irritated.

"How you been?" he asked.

"Great! You?" I asked politely.

 "Meh. Okay I guess. My girlfriend dumped me." he said sadly.

"Aw, Andrew! I'm so sorry. If she doesn't realize how great you are, she's an idiot." I comforted him.

Josh was glaring at Andrew and clenching and unclenching his fists.

"Oh, I'm sorry. Did I interrupt something?" Andrew asked.

"Yes." said Josh quietly.

"No, Andrew," I spoke over Josh. "it's fine. We were heading home anyway." I said.

"Right. Yeah okay." Josh grumbled.

"Well, I should go. Later, Maya." said Andrew.

"Bye Andy." I said. He ran back the way he came.

Josh got up and we started walking back to Riley's.

"So, how do you know this guy, Aaron or Alexander or whatever." Josh asked.

"Andrew. He's a really close friend of mine. I've known him since the first grade." I said.

"Okay. Have you two ever gone out?" He asked.

"Yeah. But I didn't really like him like that, and I don't think he liked me like that either."

"There's always a possibility." Josh said.

"Yeah. There is. But you already have my heart." I smiled.

"I love you, Maya." He said, and wrapped an arm around my waist. Wow, that came out of nowhere...

I didn't want to make him feel bad, so I said it, too. "I love you too, Josh." I smiled.

He kissed me on the top of my head. We got to Riley's apartment.

We walked in with our arms around each other.

"Josh? Maya? What are you two doing??" Uh oh! Cory was there on the couch!

"Uhhh we were cold!" I lied and gave him a "duh" look.

"Hmm. Right. You know what, I don't wanna know." Cory said suspiciously. Thank the GOOD LORD he didn't wanna know.

We ran over to Josh's room.

"That was fun." Josh said.

 "Oh, definitely." I snickered.

We sat down on his bed.

" So... what do you wanna do now?" I asked.

Riley's POV

"Hey Dad, do you know where Uncle Josh is?" I asked.

"Yeah he just went to his room." My dad answered.

"I'm going to talk to your mother at Topanga's." He added.

"'Kay. And thanks." I said and walked down the hall to Josh's room. I got to Josh's door and listened to everything that was going on inside. I heard giggling.

I heard Maya's voice "Josh, haha, that tickles hahahaha"

Oh boy. I was really about to do this.

I put my hand on the doorknob and started to open it.

"Hey Josh I need to talk to yo- OH MY GOSH WHAT THE HECK?!" I screamed.

A/N What did Riley walk in on? (Don't worry, nothing too... uh, gross.) (I almost made a terrible pun by saying 'oh my Josh' instead of saying 'oh my gosh' har har)
