The day came upon which I never wanted to start but it already started and the sun was shining so brightly.

I got up from the bed when Shreya was sleeping peacefully. I kissed her hand but didn't disturb her sleep.

I prepared the breakfast for her and then walked towards my piano, which was over there all alone. I was unable to control my emotions so I just started playing it.

I let all my feelings out in the way of Music and I felt some relief deep inside me after that. Hearing the Music, Shreya slowly came out from the room.

'Hey, nee edhukku ma inga vandha?'

I asked while rushing towards her and held her tightly as she was standing there struggling herself.

'Un music lettu evlo naal aachu. Now I feel happy'

She said and slowly wrapped her hands around me. I kissed her forehead and looked at her with a smile.

'Vandhu breakfast saapdu aprom medicines eduthukalaam'

I said while looking at her with a smile. After a while, she came to have her breakfast. I fed her the breakfast and made her take the medicines.

After that, she urged me to play some music for her. So, I made her sit on the couch and played some tunes thinking about her.

She was really happy and then I just forced her to sleep for sometime after lunch. I felt so hard inside me whenever I see her in front of me.

In the evening, she was sleeping soundly and so I locked the house from outside. I went to the nearby temple and prayed so faithfully for the first time in my life.

I stayed there for sometime as the place has the positivity which I need so badly. But then Shreya's thoughts haunted me so I left to my house.

I opened the house and was shocked when I heard Shreya's shout. I ran towards the room and found her crying terribly.

'Ennachu, Shreya?'

I asked while rushing towards the bed, where she was sitting and tearing. She quickly slapped me and then slowly hugged me.

'Enga pona? Evlo bayanthen theriyuma? I was dead, Vijay. Enna vittu engayum pogatha'

She said while looking at me with her worried look. I quickly embraced her and kissed her cheeks. Tears started to roll down on my cheeks when I felt her tension.

'Unna vittu inime engayum poga maaten, promise'

I said while smiling at her. She nodded her head slightly and rested on my chest.

'Terrace'ku polaama?'

I asked while looking at her with a smile. She didn't say anything but just nodded her head while looking at me.

I carried her in my arms and climbed up the stairs. After reaching there, I just made her sit on the top of the wall.

She just smiled and raised her eyebrows while looking at me. I pointed the opposite direction which made her turn towards there.

The sun was about to set. She was looking at that fixedly when I was staring at her smilingly. I thought, she need to see this right now so made her to.

After the sun set, she slowly turned and looked at me smilingly. She hit her forehead with mine and smiled so happily.

Even I smiled but not with happiness. Happiness? No, it's not there for me.

'Polaama?'

She asked while wrapping her hand around my neck. I nodded my head and then carried her in my arms.

We two together watched all her favorite songs and scenes of the movies. Then, we remained sometime looking into each other's eyes.

Tears started to escape from my eyes when I realized the reality. She become so ill and the day has already ended.

'The day ended so faster, isn't it?'

Shreya asked while sitting on the bed sadly. I sat beside her holding the medicine box on my hand.

'Only the day has ended not our life'

I said which brought a smile on her face.

'Be strong. I told you, right? You'll be here with me lot more years. I won't let you leave that much easily'

I said with a wink and she just smiled. She lied on my shoulder when I was taking the medicines. I took the medicines in my hand and extended that towards her.

She just neglected to collect those from me. She started tearing and quickly hugged me.

'Take these medicines, Shreya'

'No! I don't want to'

'Don't be silly. You can't withstand without these medicines'

'I don't want to'

'Then don't you want to be with me for some more time?'

'Yes! Of course! I only need that in my life'

'Then you should take this for me'

I said while extending those medicines towards her. She smiled looking at me and then got that from her. She took the medicines silently.

After that, she leant on the cot slowly. I placed the glass on the table and then cuddled her. I know that she is so tired but I don't whether I would get this chance again in my life and so I did it.

She smiled and held my hands. She kissed my cheek and looked into my eyes. I slowly made her close her eyes but she quickly opened it.

'Thoongalaya?'

She quickly started moving her head side to side. I just smiled and kissed her forehead.

'Do you feel the pain? Is it too hurtful?'

I asked when tears welled up in my eyes. I know what cancer is and how it would hurt a person. I can't believe the fact that my Shreya has cancer and this is her last day.

She just smiled a little hearing my question and then hugged me so tightly. I felt the pain in her. It hurts me more than anything.

I hit the bed hardly realizing the fact that I couldn't do anything for her. For the first time in my life, I was getting the anger too much.

She was just staring at me fixedly with a smile and that hurt me more than anything. I just caressed her cheek and forced her to sleep.

She didn't sleep for sometime but her tiredness yearned for sleep and so she drifted off to sleep.

I was just staring at her and I didn't get the sleep at all thinking about the next day.

Will she wake up for me? Or will this be her last day? No way! She will definitely come back to this life for me. Where will she go without me?

I looked at her cute face and smiled unconditionally. She was sleeping so peacefully when there's a war going inside me.

'Shreya, I'm not sure whether tomorrow you would live in this hell or in the heaven.. Wherever you're, I'll be there for you. I won't leave you alone anywhere. You're mine, totally mine. I can't live a life without you even after the death. I need you and I won't leave you. This is my promise to you'

I said while caressing her cheeks and kissed her palm smilingly. I'm waiting for the raise of you along with the sun.
