Chapter 3

Hi! Things will start to pick up from here. Video will be in italics. Hope you'll like this one :)

The picture is Mackenzie's room.

************************************************************

I blinked. Once. Twice.

Ashton Irwin was in my house, sitting on my couch. The one thing that crossed my mind was that this was crazy. How did they do that? But more importantly, how they got him to go to my house among all the other fans.  These thoughts were still circling in my head when the video-Ashton speaked again.

"Your couch is really comfy," he said. "But I guess I should take a look around."

Ashton folded the magazine, put it on the couch, then got up and started walking around the TV room. He suddenly stopped as he spotted something behind the couch.

My eyes widened as I remembered what was kept there. I shook my head, silently hoping that he would not touch the things that were on the table behind the couch.

Ashton neared the table and picked up something that looked like a very thick and heavy book. The camera zoomed until it looked over his shoulder and it was clearly written Mackenzie. As he opened the "book", the curly haired drummer started awe-ing and giggling.

The screen then showed pictures of me as a baby. There were different pictures as he flipped the pages and they gradually showed me growing up. He stopped at one specific page which showed a picture of me with my face covered with chocolate, smiling like crazy. Ashton smiled as he looked at the camera, at me.

"You were so cute when you were little, Mackenzie. I'll just assume that you're cuter now." he said with a wink at the end.

My heart stuttered in my when he did that and some of the people in the audience cheered.

Ashton then closed the picture album and put it back where he found it. He turned to smile at the camera before hurrying out of the room. The camera quickly followed and found the Australian lad opening a door which I knew led to the garage. He reappeared a few seconds ago saying that there was nothing to see as we took the car coming here.

He was still in the middle of talking when a very familiar voice called his name. Ashton smiled excitedly at the camera and replied with "I'm coming!" before asking to follow him.

The camera followed him around the house and from the path he was taking, I knew that he was most likely to go in the kitchen. However, what I didn't expect was to see my little brother sitting on the high chair next to the kitchen counter.

Dimitri was smiling and waving at the camera. He then turned to Ashton, jumped out of the high chair and gave a high-five to the guy, like they were the best friends ever.

I bet he was happy to have stayed there now. As I watched my brother talking to Ashton on the screen, I couldn't help thinking about what he said to my parents a few hours ago. Either he took acting lessons that I didn't know about, or they told him about this sometime when I was getting ready. I was rooting for the latter.

"Hey buddy! What are you doing here?" Ashton asked my little brother.

"Mum and Dad told me that you were coming here, so I stayed 'cause I wanted to meet you." Dimitri replied with a full-blown smile.

Ashton chuckled and ruffled his hair. "You seem like a pretty nice guy. So, tell me more about you sister?"

My eyes widened as he finished his question. It's not that I didn't want him to know about me. Who wouldn't want Ashton Irwin to know more about them? It was the fact that he asked this particular question to my brother. I was sure that by the end of the video, Ashton wouldn't want to meet me.

Dimitri looked at the camera with his I'm-so-enjoying-this smile, most probably directing it at me.

"Well first of all you must know that she absolutely loves you!" he said to an amused Ashton.

Please kill me now.

Dimitri then went on and on about how I was supposedly the most annoying person on earth, about how I was obsessed with the Marvel Universe...

Yes, I'm a fan. So what?

...and about how I couldn't sing to save my life.

The last one was not entirely true but it was not like I was the best singer out there. I could name a billion of people who could song way better than me. Well, maybe there's some exaggeration here but you get my drift.

Ashton laughed on the screen before saying, "You sure you're not exaggerating here buddy?"

My thoughts, exactly. Thank you Ashton.

My little brother rolled his eyes and muttered something about not having fun anymore. I think Ashton heard him because he shook his head while patting Dimi's head. The latter suddenly lifted his head so fast that I was surprised he didn't break his neck. He then had this mischievous smile of his and asked Ashton the worst question ever.

"Do you wanna see her room?"

The drummer was about to reply when someone started pounding on what I suppose was the front door. He told Dimitri to stay quiet and made his way to the door and opened it.

I almost fell out of my seat when I recognised the people on the other side. Luke Hemmings, Michael Clifford and Calum Hood were grinning at their friend and bandmate.

"Hey man!" they all said in unison.

"Guys! What are you doing here?" Ashton asked.

"Well, " started Luke, "you forgot the poster when you left earlier. So, we brought it for you."

What poster?

"What poster?" asked Dimitri, echoing my thoughts.

"This one. " said Calum as he took something from behind him and showed it to my brother. It was as you probably guessed a poster of them making funny faces.

"Cool!" said Dimi. "I'm Dimitri by the way, Channel's little brother."

"Hi Dimitri!" the three of them replied together. Again.

My little brother then asked them to follow him before he rushed towards the stairs. The camera followed them as they all rushed up the stairs after Dimi.

The next thing we saw on the screen was my little brother opening a door and the boys rushing in. The camera showed all around the room and it was then that I realised that they were in my room. 5 Seconds of Summer was in my room.

"Nice room." Michael commented.

Dimitri made a face before saying, "Yeah, if you're a girl. "

"I think there's something missing," Ashton said as he turned towards Calum.

The bassist stared back at his friend before realisation dawned on his face. He gave the poster to Ashton who in turn went and fixed it on the wall, just above the night stand. He then took a marker from his pocket a signed his autograph on the poster. The other boys did the same thing before they all turned to the camera and winked.

They flopped down on my bed and they all tried to make themselves comfortable. Ashton smiled at the camera as the others took my pillows and started whacking them in each other's face.

"So now that we are here, I just wanted to say that I really like your room." Ashton said. "I wanted to tell you this in person but something tells me that it may happen in the near future."

I didn't really understand what he meant by that.

"I don't want to give it all away now but I'll just say see ya later!"

The guys stopped what they were doing to wave at the camera.

"See ya, Channel!" they said.

Then the screen turned black.

The audience clapped and cheered as Barry and Larry turned to look at me.

"That was quite a surprise, wasn't it?" Larry asked me.

I tried to say something but it was like I had no more voice. I cleared my throat to give me some more time before answering.

"Yeah, it really was." I said. "I don't know how you guys did this but you are really good at it!"

Barry smiled mischievously as he observed me and I couldn't help but think that they were not done with me. My suspicions were confirmed when the red haired man spoke next.

"So, Mackenzie dear. We have one more surprise for you and I promise that it's the last one. Now, I think you heard Ashton when he said that he would meet you in the near future."

I nodded, preparing myself for the worst.

"Well, the near future just happens to be right here and right now. Mackenzie Clarke, here comes 5 Seconds of Summer!"

I was still processing what Barry was saying when the show's jingle was heard and the four members of 5 Seconds of Summer came in the studio while waving at the audience. I just sat there, my jaw almost hitting the floor because I couldn't believe that they were actually here. As if sensing me gawking at them, they all turned and practically beamed at me. I tried to come up with a smile-which I'm sure looked more like a grimace.

The boys headed towards the performing stage, where their instruments were already set up. They took their respective places and then Luke took the mic.

"Hey guys!" he exclaimed which was answered with cheers. "So, Mackenzie. We heard that you really liked our music and we're now gonna perform what we know is your favourite song by us. This is End Up Here."

As the first beat of the song started, I instantly jumped out of my seat and started moving to the music. I didn't even want to know how they knew it was my favourite song. I couldn't care less by then, all that mattered was that my favourite band was actually here and they were singing for me. For me.

You walked in

Everyone was asking for your name

You just smiled and told them "Trouble"

My head bobbed as I sang along to the song. I looked to where my family was blew them a kiss and mouthed a big "Thank you" to them. I don't know what they did or how much they paid to offer me this. It was actually the first time that I saw the boys performing life. I never got the chance to go to one of their concerts because my parents didn't want me to go alone there. I took this as their way of giving me what I asked for so many times, without worrying about me being kidnapped at one of the concerts. I started jumping up and down as the chorus came.

How did we end up talking

In the first place

You said you like my Cobain shirt

Now we're walking

Back to your place

You're telling me how you love that song about

Living on prayer

I'm pretty sure that we're halfway there

And when I wake up next to you

I wonder how

How did we end up here

I took the time to watch the boys as they performed the song. They seemed so into what they were doing and it was really beautiful to watch. It was like they were giving all they had, all of themselves into this song. They kept looking at each other and laughing at random times. Sometimes they even looked in my direction to smile or wink at me. Then came Ashton's solo and I was so hyper that I jumped around and took Larry's hands, dragging him with me.

Call me lucky 'cause in the end

I'm a six

And she's a ten

She's so fit, I'm insecure

But she keeps coming back for more

His voice was better in live. Okay, I really liked him therefore it's kind of understandable how I get excited and to fangirl whenever he's concerned. I just hope that I don't look like an hysteric, crazy fan to them.

How did we end up here

How did we end up, how did we end up here

How did we end up, how did we end up here

Everyone, including me, clapped and cheered loudly as they finished the song. They thanked the audience, and then came towards us. They thanked the audience, and then came towards us. They greeted Barry and Larry before turning to me and smiling. Luke gave me a hug saying "hi!"; Calum winked and gave me a quick kiss on the cheek; Michael grinned and high fived me, which only left Ashton.

The drummer smiled cutely and hugged me. I feltmy hands trembling as I put them on his back to hug him as well. I backed a bit from hug as I wanted to kiss him quickly on the cheek. It was most likely a one time thing so I was enjoying it fully. Well, I should've thought better at that moment because what I didn't anticipate was Ashton doing the same.

And that, ladies and gentlemen, is how I ended up accidentally kissing Ashton Irwin on national television.
