Chapter 6

Janus' pov

He was emotionless.

I couldn't hold back my tears. I cried as a ran over and cupped his cheek. I looked into his eyes hoping that it wasn't true. But the reality was that he was gone. I pulled him into my arms and sobbed. It felt as if my world shattered. As if the sun stopped shining. As if the world stopped turning. It was the lowest I have ever felt.

I pulled away and looked into his eyes. Searching for something. Anything. Just to see him smile or cry.
"S-stormy?" I stuttered with tears rolling down my cheeks. That's when I saw the faintest spark return to his gaze. I thought of other things I could try. I started to sing.

Let's go in the garden.
You'll find something waiting.
Right there where you left it, lying upside down.
When you finally find it, you'll see that it's faded.
The underside is lighter when you turn it around.

I saw him perk up at my voice. But his spark was still missing. So I continued.

Everything stays right where you left it.
Everything stays, but it still changes.
Ever so slightly, daily and nightly, in little ways, when everything stays.

Virgil mumbled the last line as his eyes lightened. I pulled him forwards and gently kissed him. I felt him lean into the kiss. When we pulled away, Vigil opened his eyes to show his spark had returned. Fresh tears sprung from my eyes as I unchained him and pulled him into my arms.

"Well isn't this nice?" a low voice grumbled causing my grip on Virgil to tighten. Virgil looked at me with raw fear in his eyes. I couldn't stand seeing him like this. I slowly stood up and helped Virgil.

"Paranoia. My best friend." I hissed while holding Virgil behind me.
"Janus. Its been so long. You look amazing." the patronising b*stard said with sarcasm dripping from the complement. We stood there glaring at each other. Neither one of us backing down.

"Virgil baby? Come here please~" the darkest side called to the cowering side behind me. Virgil's grip on my arm tightened. Paranoia -growing more and more annoyed by the second- then began to pull Virgil towards him.

I blocked his path and he gave up. He never gives up this easily. I shrug it off and continue to glower at him. Suddenly, Virgil tensed behind me. I turned aroung to check on him and when I turned my atention back to Paranoia, he was gone.
