Having A Ball?

Later on, we were all gathered together in the club room in our free time as Haruhi practiced the Waltz.

"Quick, Quick, Slow. Quick, Quick, Slow." Kanako said as they danced. She was filling in the role of the girl to help Haruhi. "Good work, Haruhi. Now on the slow, you should put your feet together. Remember, the gentleman always leads."

Haruhi didn't look too sure about this and was looking at their feet as they danced.

"And be sure to look at the lady you're dancing with," Kanako added.

"Got it!" Haruhi stated and looked up only to trip, causing them both to fall. She anded on top of Kanako, straddling her. "I'm so sorry, Miss Kasugazaki!" She said hurriedly and was trying to get up but Kanako laced her arms around Haruhi's neck, holding her there.

"It's okay, Haruhi."

Has Haruhi scrambled to help her up, the twins and I were watching Tamaki. Said King was sitting on a window sill sulking.

"Why so gloomy, Boss?" The twins asked in unison.

"I bet it's because he wanted to be the one Haruhi practices with," Hikaru said looking at Kaoru with a mischievous look.

"I think you may be right but he's too tall to stand in has a woman." Kaoru agreed.

I giggled slightly but made sure to cough to hide it. Well, the twins seem to have heard me anyway because they both sent me a glance. I nervously looked away and cleared my throat.

Kanako was seated at a table now with Haruhi standing next to it. "Thank you so much for allowing me to practice with you. I really appreciate it." Haruhi told her kindly.

"Oh, no problem," Kanako replied smiling. "I heard that you're not seeing any customers today so that you can practice dancing. I'm glad I got to spend this time alone with you."

I raised my brows. "If only she knew." I murmured and heard a snicker from Kaoru.

Haruhi didn't seem to know how to respond to this at all.

"Oh, my!" Kanako said suddenly. "This is a new tea set, isn't it? It's Genori."

Haruhi looked to Kyoya who had now come over to stand by the table. "Ginori?"

"You have a keen eye, mademoiselle," Kyoya said ever so politely. "In fact, we just received them yesterday. We thought it as about time for the club to upgrade its tea sets."

"I see. What a pretty color. Lovely." She said admiring the teacup in her hand.

I tilted my head slightly. 'She sure likes tea sets' I thought to myself.

Tamaki looked up rather surprised and now seemed interested in the conversation.

"You must really be into tableware, huh?" Haruhi asked innocently but this got a panicked reaction from Kanako.

"Not really-I mean no, of course, I'm not! Whatever would give you that idea?" She asked nervously.

Haruhi seemed just as nervous now as she tried to smile back

Suddenly, another student came in walking carrying a box. "Hello? I'm here with the new teacups you ordered." He called out.

At the sound of his voice, Kanako gasped and stiffened.

"Aw, thank you very much," Kyoya said going to meet him. "Every item that you've chosen for us has been quite popular with the ladies. I'm quite impressed"

"Well, that's good to hear." The guy replied.

"So, do you sell tea sets?" Haruhi asked

"No, I'm just a regular student. Can't you tell by the uniform?" He replied. He was wearing the school uniform, but instead of the blue blazer, he wore a cream sweater.

Then Kanako laughed, "Oh Haruhi, you're so funny." This got everyone's attention. "I can't blame you. After all, he doesn't look like the heir to a first class company." She turned around.

As soon as she did recognition lit in the guy's eyes and it was obvious they knew each other.

The twins both looked at me in surprise.

"First class company?" Haruhi repeated.

Thankfully, Kyoya could explain, "His family's business, the Suzushima trading company, primarily deals in the importing of tableware. They currently have the top market share in the country."

Haruhi looked at the box she was now holding, "Wow"

"So, whenever something exceptional comes in, we ask him to send it our way. He has an eye for fine china. Don't you, Suzushima?"

During all that, the guy, Suzushima, had been staring at Kanako sadly but then smiled when he realized when Kyoya had been talking to him. "You think? I've still got a lot to learn, but thank you."

Meanwhile, Kanako looked like she was really sad.

"Aren't you leaving next month to study abroad in England?" Kyoya asked.

"Yes, I am. Well, I better go now." And with that, he left.

"So, are you enjoying the host club?" Tamaki asked.

"I get the feeling you and that guy are kind of close." Haruhi cut in.

Kanako freaked and spanned around to look at Haruhi. "Don't be ridiculous! We hardly know each other! What makes you say that, Haruhi? Now if you'll excuse me, take care." And with that, she quickly fled the room.

"Haru-chan!" Honey said, jumping onto Haruhi's back and scaring her, "Guess what! They do know each other! Suzushima is Kasuga-chan's fiance!"

I nodded, "That does make sense."

This got another look from the twins.

"Kyoya," Tamaki said crossing his arms, "How long have you known about this?"

Kyoya opened up his black book. "About the two of them being engaged? Well, as you know I conduct general searches on all of our customers. The two of them were childhood friends. It seems that their engagement was arranged by their parents. I didn't think the information would benefit us so I disregarded it."

"He's thorough, isn't he?" I sighed.

"I see," Tamaki said, deflating a bit.

"Toru Suzushima," Kyoya said, reading from his book. "Outstanding grades, fair social status. He's ordinary looking but he's reliable. If I had to fault him for anything..."

The twins popped in. "He doesn't have a presence, " Hikaru said.

"And he's faint-hearted," Kaoru added.

"So in other words, he's boring." Kyoya finished, snapping his book shut.

Haruhi looked pretty perturbed by all this, as was I.

"Suzuzhima is a good boy, right?" Honey asked his raven-haired friend from where he sat on his shoulders.

"Ya." Was all that Mori replied with.

I couldn't help but think the two of them were pretty cute.

"Alright men, we have to work on our strategy," Tamaki said, suddenly looking very serious.

"Which one?" All the others responded.

"Men, it's our responsibility as members of the elite Ouran host club to make every girl happy!" He cried out.

I deadpanned. "That's a seemingly impossible quest," I whispered. "How on earth could he make every girl happy." I hadn't realized Kyoya was close enough to hear and cleared my throat nervously when he smirked at me.

One week later, we were all in the large hall that the club had booked for the party.

"It is so good to see you here tonight, my little lambs," Tamaki said from where he stood above us on a balcony thing that overlooked the rest of the hall. He looked so fancy in his suit. "The Ouran host club would like to bid you all welcome."

With that all the chandeliers came on, illuminating the hall and the hired orchestra began to play. At that, all the girls, the tons of girls, began to clap with dreamy looks in their eyes. All of the hosts stood beneath Tamaki, all wearing suits except for the twins and I who has vests instead of suit jackets. My vest was blue plaid instead of the brown that the twins had, though.

"As always ladies," Kyoya began, "the host club members are here for your entertainment. So we encourage you to dance to your heart's content. Based on her dancing skills, one lucky lady will be chosen as tonight's queen. The queen's reward will be a passionate kiss on the cheek from our king." He looked rather good in his suit.

This chapter is actually unfinished but I'm tired of just putting it off for 3 years so.... here it is I guess...... I really recommend reading it from the source if you want to continue with the story..... (Now I feel like those preview 'see what happens next in the manga' kind of anime.) I'm really sorry about this.
