19- Ethan picks on Giorgia

Ethan saw the look in Antonio's eyes and began to worry. He didn't want him pissed at him and figured he better enlighten him on the phone call he received from Harlow. "I'm sorry, Antonio, but she called upset because of your mother and begged me to get her drunk. You know me and you know her, so, when she asked me to get her drunk, I couldn't turn it down, not from her. So, as I was having drinks with her, we talked and played darts, I'll admit I gave her a couple shots, but when I went to give her another shot, she grabbed the bottle from my hand and started drinking it like it was bottled water."

Antonio sighed. "My mother has been awful towards her... today, my intentions were to get my parent's out of the house so she could have a day of relaxation. I didn't think she would get drunk."

Antonio stared at Ethan for a minute and watched Ethan's Adam's apple bobble up and down as he swallowed hard and couldn't help but laugh. "Relax, the way my mother's been, I don't blame her for doing what she did. But I'd hate to be her in the morning," he chuckled. "Come on, if my mother asks about her, I'll just tell her Harlow isn't feeling well."

Antonio and Ethan walked over to his parents, who were sitting at the table and sat down with them. "Where's Harlow? I need to speak with her." Giorgia asked, looking around the room.

"Just let her be, she's sleeping right now," Antonio replied quickly.

"Oh?'

"She's not feeling too well, so she's asleep for the night."

Giorgia's eyes widened and turned to the stairway, acting like she was going to check on her. "She isn't pregnant, is she?"

"No, she isn't pregnant... and if you're thinking of going up there to check on her, I ask that you stay right where you are and let her sleep."

"Whew, scared me there for a second." she muttered, wiping her forehead and straightening herself on the chair. "Well that's too bad, don't worry, I wasn't going to go up there, I was only curious as to how the wedding planning was going and figured I would offer a few pointers."

Antonio quickly snapped his head back, looked at the ceiling, then closed his eyes, smirking. "That won't be necessary, she's got that all handled and pretty much finished." He lowered his head and looked at her. "And please, leave her alone about the wedding. The wedding is two weeks away and the last thing I need is for her to call it off because of you."

Ethan began digging into the pockets of his jacket and looked at Giorgia with a devilish grin. He grabbed what he was looking for and held his hand out to her. "Here, you look like you could use a snickers bar," he said with a straight face.

"Why would I need a snickers bar?" she asked staring at the candy bar.

"Because, they make people happy. I just assumed you would like to be happy for once and believe me, they work wonders."

Antonio's hand quickly covered his mouth and looked away, trying not to show he was laughing at them. It didn't last long and busted out laughing after his father began laughing and pointing at Giorgia. Giovanni looked at Ethan, still laughing and held his hand out. "Give me that snickers bar, I'll make her eat it."

Giorgia stood up and leaned forward, pointing in Giovanni's face. "You just never mind; I don't need a damn snickers bar."

"Well, if it'll make you happy, then sure you do," he chuckled.

Giorgia stormed into the kitchen, growling and shocked Giovanni told her she needed the candy bar. "Where's that damn wine at? I need the damn bottle... now that'll make me happy..." she snarled, looking in all the cupboards.

Antonio walked into the kitchen, still laughing. "You mean this?" he asked, picking the bottle up off the counter and grinned when she turned around and saw how her face was as red as a tomato. She reached her arm out, trying to grab the bottle from him. "Give that to me," she demanded as he pulled the bottle away from her.

"If I give you this bottle, I need you to promise me, you're going to be nice to Harlow for the next two weeks," he said, pointing at her with a smile.

"Fine, give me the damn thing."

His eyebrows raised when she tried reaching for the bottle again and pulled the bottle back further from her reach. "I mean it, you better promise to behave yourself."

"I said I promise, now, can I have a damn drink?"

Antonio handed her the bottle, then grabbed a glass for her, handing it to her. She quickly opened the bottle, poured herself a glass then sat down at the table, taking a huge sip of the wine. "Thank you, I needed this," she said, closing her eyes.

Ethan grinned and slid the snickers bar across the table, towards Giorgia. "For dessert."

She snatched it away from Ethan's hand. "Thank you," she growled.

"Glad I could be of assistance," Ethan winked.

"Ethan, is it?" she asked, setting her wine down.

"Yes ma'am, it's a nice name, isn't it?" he mocked with a smile, hoping to see her get riled up again.

"One thing I'd like to know is, how on earth do you sleep at night knowing someone dislikes you?"

He smiled. "That's easy, I sleep butt naked," he grinned. "That way it's much easier for them to kiss my ass.... why, do you dislike me?" he asked, tilting his head to the side with furrowed eyebrows.

Antonio busted out laughing and got up to leave the room before his mom blew a gasket and went downstairs to make a drink for his dad, Ethan and himself. They all sat in the dining room, talking and drinking and was finally able to get Giorgia to relax. The more she drank, the quieter she got and the more pleasant she became. Only Ethan couldn't help himself and picked on her some more.

Ethan looked at Giorgia then grinned. "You know, liquor might not solve all of your problems, but it's worth a shot." He looked down at his drink and chuckled. "As for me, the relationship I have with my bourbon is on the rocks...damn it, I better work on that," he said, picking his drink up and holding it out to her, trying not to laugh. He cheered her, then stood and finished his drink. "I better get going, I have a busy day tomorrow," he said looking at Giorgia with a grin. "Just for you, I'll make sure to sleep naked tonight... and don't forget to eat your snickers bar."

Antonio laughed as he looked at Ethan, then looked at the time and noticed how late it was. "See you tomorrow, I'll be stopping in later in the morning," he said as Ethan walked to the door.

"I'll see you guys in the morning; I'm going to go to bed." Antonio grabbed their glasses off the table, set them in the sink and looked at his parents. "Have a goodnight."

Giorgia was feeling the effects of the wine and started heading towards the stairs, stumbling as she walked. Giovanni walked over to help her, and grinned the entire time he helped her to the bedroom. He had a good time, liked how Ethan was teasing her and was hoping he would do it to her again.

Antonio walked into the room and laughed when he saw Harlow sprawled out across the bed, then walked over to her while she was making groaning noises, making sure she was okay. He sat on the bed, watching her for a bit, then began caressing her lips. "How are you feeling?" he asked, when she opened her eyes. "You're making noises like you want to empty out your insides."

"That's because I do," she moaned while pushing herself up.

Antonio placed his hand on her back when he noticed she was sweating and pale in the face. "Come on, I'll walk you to the bathroom." He helped her up and walked her into the bathroom, placing her in front of the porcelain god. "Just let it all out, it'll make you feel a whole lot better."

"I don't know what I was thinking," she groaned, then laid down on the ground, loving the coolness coming off the flooring and closed her eyes.

Antonio was chuckling on the inside and smiled while rubbing her back. "You were having fun while my mom was out of your hair and you were able to let loose, maybe a little too loose," he chuckled. "Ethan said you were chugging off the bottle."

"Never again..." she groaned loudly. "I feel like death."

Antonio grabbed her a glass of water and handed it to her. "Drink some of this water, it might help a little."

She sat up taking the glass of water from his hand, drinking it all. She thought it tasted good, but it didn't sit well and everything finally came out. After she was finished, Antonio carried her to the bed and laid her down. Then grabbed another glass of water, some headache pills and set it down on her nightstand for her to take in the morning.

The next day, Antonio let Harlow sleep in after she had gotten up a few times throughout the night to let out her insides and before he left for work, he freshened up her water,

Harlow woke up groggy and looked over at the nightstand, saw the glass of water and pills and grabbed them. She took the pills and drank the water. The feeling of the cold water sliding down her throat and into her stomach had her feeling sick and ran to the bathroom. Never ever am I drinking like that again... she moaned, while hanging her head over the toilet. She didn't feel like dealing with Giorgia just yet and decided to soak in the tub. Soaking until the water got cold and her fingers turned into prunes.

She finally made her way down into the kitchen and began making herself some breakfast. She noticed Giorgia sitting on the couch reading a book and debated about saying hello.

"How are you feeling this morning?" Giorgia asked.

"I'm feeling all right, why?" she asked, unsure of what she knew.

"Antonio mentioned you weren't feeling well last night," she said while looking down at her book.

Harlow was curious as to why she was finally acting nice towards her, sounding concerned, surprising her. "I wasn't feeling all that great, but I'm feeling better. Thanks for your concern," she said, then figured since Giorgia was being nice, she would return the gesture. "Have you two eaten yet?"

"We already ate, thanks."

Harlow was still feelin a bit queasy and made herself some toast, then sat quietly at the table, eating, while looking at wedding magazines. Giorgia looked to see what she as doing and walked over to her, sitting down with her. Harlow could feel eyes on her and rolled her eyes up to her. She could see on her face she wanted to ask her something and set her toast down. "Did you need something?" Harlow asked. Then wished she hadn't asked her anything, after Giorgia asked her a question.

"Are you pregnant?"

"No, I'm not pregnant, even if I was... would that be a problem?"

"Are you sure? You were fine earlier in the day and when we got back, you weren't feeling well."

Harlow smirked. "Nope, not pregnant. I just wasn't feeling well."

Giorgia looked at what she was eating and gave her a questionable look. "Dry toast? Looks to me you're still not feeling well, are you sure you're not pregnant?"

"Yes, I'm sure... if you're that concerned about me not feeling well, it just so happened that I had a little too much to drink and I got sick from it. There, are you happy now?" she snapped, tired of getting the third degree from her. After blowing up at her, she needed to get away from her before she snapped again and stood, picked up her toast and walked away.

Giorgia sat there smirking, then remembered she promised Antonio she would be nice to her for the next couple weeks. Her smirked diminished and sighed. "Harlow..." she called out, rolling her eyes. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean for you to get upset. I just wanted to make sure you couldn't be pregnant. I'd hate for you to not be able to enjoy your wedding."

Sure, you would... she thought to herself as she stood in the kitchen with her back facing Giorgia and her arms crossed. Then started thinking. "Have you gone out and bought yourself a dress for the wedding?" she asked, thinking this would be the perfect time for the two to get to know each other if she hadn't gotten a dress yet and hoped this would be the way to settle the differences the two have between each other.

"No, I have not gotten myself a dress."

She took a deep breath and turned around. "Would you like to go look for a dress? I can take you shopping and pay for it," she said, hoping this wasn't going to be a mistake.

Giorgia surprised by Harlow, smiled. She wasn't sure if she really wanted Harlow picking out her dress, but with the promise she made to Antonio, she knew she better go along. She stood and tapped her fingers on the table. "I'll go let Giovanni know I'm leaving with you to the store. He might enjoy being alone for a while."

While Giorgia was downstairs, she called Antonio, letting him know she was taking his mom shopping for the wedding, then informed him if she were to go missing, it was because of his mother.

Antonio chuckled as he hung up the phone and looked at Ethan. "This will be interesting."

"What's that?"

"Harlow is taking my mother out dress shopping for the wedding."

Ethan looked at him surprised and laughed. "Is she nuts? They've been going at it for weeks!"

Antonio shrugged his shoulders, grinning.

"Harlow must still be drunk and not be thinking clearly."

Antonio kicked back in his chair and rested his feet on top of the desk. "Now is the time I need to make sure my ringer is on. I know this will be good for them and now I'm more than curious to see how long my mom can keep her promise."

"Maybe she ate the snickers bar I gave her.... speaking of Harlow, how was she feeling this morning?"

"From the time I made it to bed, she was up most of the night emptying out her stomach. When I was getting ready, she was making some groaning sounds, but sounded okay on the phone, maybe a little tired, but she seemed alright."

"I knew she would get sick, I warned her," Ethan laughed. "Lesson learned, I'm sure."

After the day of shopping, Harlow quietly drove Giorgia back home. Harlow wasn't too happy with the dress she chose, but didn't feel like arguing with her or making a scene in front of everyone and bought her the dress anyway.

"Thank you for taking me shopping, I had fun," she said with a big smile as she stepped out of the vehicle.

"No problem," she said, giving her a fake smile. And as Giorgia started walking away, she felt like flipping her the bird, but changed her mind, went inside and began making dinner before Antonio got home, ignoring Giorgia.

"Do you need my help with anything?" Giorgia asked as she walked into the kitchen and stood next to Harlow, trying to see what she was making.

"Maybe... I suppose you could set the table. I've got it handled in here." Something isn't right, where on earth did this complete one eighty come from? she wondered as she watched her out the corner of her eye, watching her set the table and whistle away.

Antonio came home and walked into the kitchen kissing Harlow on the cheek. "I see everything went well today," he said gleaming, thinking everything was okay between the two since he hadn't heard from her.

"Everything is fine," she said slightly shrugging her shoulders.

He curled his finger under her chin and turned her head towards him, not liking the way she responded. "Are you sure?"

She smiled and nodded her head.

"I hope so, she promised she was going to give you a chance," he said quietly to her.

I knew it... she thought to herself. "I just hope that in two weeks, she behaves herself... and that's all I'm going to say."

Hope you enjoyed the chapter!

Will Giorgia behave herself during the wedding?? Lets hope that she does!🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞
