12- Ethan rats out Harlow

Harlow sat at the table looking at the pictures and descriptions of each home. She was surprised to see the choices of the homes he wanted her to look at with him and for her to be the one to decide on which one. "Wow Antonio, these are big and so expensive."

"I don't care... I want the best for you," he said, curling his finger under her chin and lifting her face up to look at him. "I have plans for us and I want to include you in on everything I do."

She looked back at the papers in her hand. "What's wrong with the house that you have now?"

He kneeled and looked at her. "Nothing is wrong with this house, I like it, but I want something better, and bigger. I want something I know you helped pick out and something that I know you'll like."

"Antonio, I can't afford any of this."

He laughed, taking the papers out of her hand and set them on the table. "Silly woman. Don't you get it?" he says smiling while looking at her. "You will never have to worry about not being able to afford anything, as long as you're with me. I've got that department handled and if you want, you can quit that job you hate so much. Let me take care of you, move in with me."

She pulled him closer to her. "If I agree to move in with you, you better promise me, you're in this for the long haul. I don't want to take this next step, only for it to backfire on us."

"I have a little secret to tell you... I've already devoted myself to you, and already came to the conclusion that I'm in this for the long haul. Our journey together will only get better from here on out. I see us being married someday, raising lots of beautiful kids and growing old together."

She was trying hard to hold back a smile, only for the smile to come out anyway and leaned forward kissing him on the lips. "Then my answer will be yes, yes I'll move in with you."

A sound of happiness escaped his mouth and pulled her with him down to the ground, kissing her. "Things will only be getting better from now on, I know it," he says, pulling away from her lips.

******

For the next few weeks, while Antonio's airplane was getting worked on, they started looking at homes in the area to buy. There were a couple she liked, but wasn't too sure about them. They were overly big and felt she would get overwhelmed with the cleaning.

There was one more house that he found he wanted to show her, it was big but not as big as the other two she liked. The realtor sent him a link to the pictures of the home and the more he looked through them, the more he liked it and thought it would be the perfect home for them.

On his way home from work, he called Harlow letting her know he was on his way to pick her up. He hoped this was it and that she would like the house. It had everything he was looking for, including a den that he would consider as his office, that way he could work from home as needed.

Ethan happened to be outside working on his car when Antonio pulled into their parents' driveway, honking at him. He leaned his head out the window, calling out to Ethan. "Feel like going with Harlow and I to check out a house?"

Ethan set his tools down and walked over to him. "Where at?"

"Not too far from here, maybe about twenty minutes."

Ethan turned around and looked at his car. He was just about done doing a tune up on his car and looked back at Antonio wiping the sweat off his forehead. "Sure, how much time do you have? I just have one more spark plug to install."

"Well get your ass moving, I'll wait," he urged with a smile.

Ethan quickly walked back to his car and grabbed the last spark plug, trying to hurry before Harlow came out. Harlow came out a few minutes later and stood next to Ethan, watching what he was doing. "You know there are mechanical shops around here, the way Antonio pays you, you can afford it."

Ethan laughed, shaking his head. "I'm not paying someone to do a simple job like this, even though these back spark plugs are a son of a bitch to do..."

"Well whatever floats your boat, at least this is keeping you away from the drinking."

"That's what you think sugar lips... take a sip of that right there," he said, pointing to his cup sitting on top of the engine. She picked up the glass, taking a bigger sip than she planned and coughed as it went down her throat, warming the esophagus as it went down her throat and the insides of her stomach as it settled.

"Really Ethan?" she says coughing and wiping the booze off her lips with the back of her hand. "Anyway, Antonio is taking me to go look at a house, if you're interested, you're welcome to come along, you'll just have to get rid of this before we leave."

Ethan tightened up the last plug and picked up his tools, chuckling and smiling as he shut the hood. He took the cup out of her hand and slammed the rest of his drink "Antonio already asked if I'd like to go with, so, let's go."

Ethan got inside Antonio's vehicle and placed his seatbelt on. "Thank God you're driving, Antonio. I think my sister needs to go back to driving school, she scared the shit out of me earlier."

Antonio laughed and looked over at Harlow. "What did you do?"

"Nothing. I just happened to have pressed down on my brakes a little... remember I told you I have to get used to those? I'm not used to having brakes that work."

"Who are you trying to kid? You slammed on the brakes and said bow to me." Ethan chuckled. "I wasn't expecting it and hit my head on the dash." Harlow smiled and laughed, then looked over at Antonio, trying to stop laughing when she saw his expression.

"He had it coming," she giggled.

"Do I have to teach you how to drive?" Antonio asked, trying to be serious, even though he was laughing from the inside.

"No, I can drive just fine."

Ethan leaned forward towards Antonio and chuckled while keeping his eye on Harlow. "She forgot to tell you one small detail."

"Ethan!"

Ethan laughed, then laughed harder as Antonio snapped his head over to Harlow. "What aren't you telling me?"

"It's nothing," she said looking away, embarrassed to tell him what happened and wanting to kill Ethan for bringing it up.

"Tell him, you chicken shit." Ethan laughed, shoving her.

"Fine, I got pulled over... doing fifty miles over the speed limit," she says, biting onto her bottom lip and closing her eyes. Antonio already warned her to watch the speedometer and was waiting for him to snap at her.

"Fifty?" Antonio asked in shock.

"That's not all, just wait." Ethan says grinning.

Harlow turned around looking at Ethan, giving him the stink eye. He sat back in the seat covering his mouth, trying not to laugh. Antonio tried keeping his eyes on the road, but kept looking over at Harlow. He knew something was up, between Ethan laughing and Harlow having the scared look on her face and knew it wasn't good.

"What else happened?"

"I kind of backed into the squad car."

Antonio's hand went to his face, closing his eyes quick. He knew it was going to bad, but not that bad. He shook his head not saying anything. Harlow reached her right hand behind her head flipping Ethan off, which only made him laugh harder.

"It's not like I meant to, I was nervous for getting pulled over to start with. Since I had nothing on my record, he gave me a warning ticket, telling me to make sure I'm following the speed limit. When he let me go, I thought I put the car in drive, instead, I accidently put it in reverse backing into the police car."

"Oh boy...."

"There's no damage to either car, I already buffed out the black paint." Ethan says, assuring Antonio. He figured he better stick up for her now, only because he knew he was going to hear about it later.

"I'm sorry." Harlow looked out the window pissed at Ethan for telling Antonio. She was going to tell him about it later, not wanting to upset him before they left and looked at the house, he wanted to show her.

Antonio sighed, "I guess it could have been worse. I did tell you to watch the gas pedal... now I'll have to drive with you to make sure you're obeying all the laws on the road."

"You don't have to do that," she said quietly.

They finally get to the neighborhood they needed to be in and as they drove in, Harlow eyed each home, liking how all the homes were widely spaced out with each property having lots of land. "That must be it," Ethan pointed, after seeing the for-sale sign.

"That would be it," Antonio said turning into the driveway. Harlow's eyes widened while looking at the house Antonio was pulling up to. She thought the home looked beautiful, loved the stonework and really liked how the home was presented from the outside. She thought the landscaping was perfect and thought it looked like professionals were the ones who took care of the all the yardwork.

The realtor was standing by the door patiently waiting for them. As they walked up to the door, the realtor walked up to Harlow smiling. "Hello, you must be Harlow," she said, reaching her hand out, shaking it as she introduced herself. "This is a very beautiful home; I think you'll like it," the realtor said, smiling.

She opened the door for them and as Ethan walked inside, he let out a loud whistle. "Go ahead and take a look around," she tells them as she took off her shoes.

They began walking around the first level, which had a nice huge living room, a big kitchen and a dining room with a patio door leading out to the pool and the back yard. Harlow opened the patio door and walked outside, heading over to look at the pool and wanting to see the yard.

"Wow, it's beautiful out here, I like it!" she said in awe.

"Just think, once we have kids, look at all this area they'll be able to play in. I can see a playset right over there," Antonio says pointing.

"There it is again, kids," she giggled.

"Yep, and I'll keep bringing it up too," he winked, placing his hand on the small of her back and walking her back inside.

They continued looking around the first level and saw that it also had a nice sized bedroom and another nice sized living room. "I'd make this room into my music room; my Grand piano would sit perfectly right here," Antonio says grinning. "I can picture it now."

There was also a bathroom and what Antonio had been waiting to see, his den. "Perfezionare." he smiled.

"What?" Ethan asked.

"I said, perfect."

The realtor then showed them the upstairs. "There are four bedrooms and a bathroom up here, one being the master bedroom," the realtor says, walking them into the master bedroom.

Ethan whistled again. "Damn... there's even a fireplace in here. Sweetness!"

Antonio walked over to Ethan and leaned into his ear. "I know what you're thinking, and no... you won't be entertaining any ladies in this room," Antonio said, patting Ethan's back with a grin.

"Shucks," he said, snapping his fingers.

"There's even a huge bathroom in this room," Harlow said as she walked out of the bathroom. She was in heaven and loved the layout. "This is by far the best house we've looked at."

The realtor looked at Antonio and smiled. "There's one more level to show." She took them downstairs, showing them another bedroom with a full-size bathroom, a washroom, a wet bar and another huge living room.

"This would be my game room; I'd put the pool table right here."

"Maybe you should have a pole installed down here," Ethan said, wiggling his eyebrows up and down at Harlow.

"I don't think so."

"Why not? I'd enjoy that." Antonio says chuckling.

"Of course, you would." Harlow shook her head as she continued looking around. She had a feeling this area was going to be trouble for her, especially knowing Ethan would most likely be over all the time.

She did like it, it was still a big house, but figured she could still manage it on her own. "I'll leave you three be for a moment, I'm going to make a couple phone calls while you talk." The realtor walked back upstairs, leaving them alone to talk.

Antonio wrapped his arms around her and stared her in the eyes. He was in love with the house and liked every bit of it. Now it was for Harlow to decide if she liked it or not and secretly crossed his fingers. "So... what do you think?"

"I like it, it's big."

"Hun, we talked about this before and Ethan is standing right here next to us, he doesn't need to know that... that's something private between us," he said smirking, and winking.

Harlow poked him in the gut and giggled. "Not that you pig, I meant the house."

"Sure, you did, you know that anaconda of his has you hooked," Ethan laughed.

Harlow's eyes widened, her jaw dropped and gasped. "Ethan Michael Stamos!" Harlow yelled out. "How would you know anyway?" she asked, placing her hands on her hips while glaring at him.

Ethan grinned and chuckled while looking at Harlow. "I wouldn't know, but that's just what I call mine," he said, grinning wider.

"You seriously need help."

Antonio walked over to Ethan, putting him in a headlock and started giving him a noogie. "Better watch it around her, or she probably wouldn't let you come over, ever."

"Yea no shit." Ethan said, getting himself out of Antonio's hold.

Harlow stood, staring off into space, thinking about Antonio and the house. "Oh, oh, I see the wheels are turning," Ethan says to Antonio, pointing over at a Harlow. "She's thinking hard and I mean, really hard."

"Harlow?" Antonio asked. He walked up behind her and wrapped his arms around her, holding her tight against him. He then started kissing her neck and moved up to her cheek.

"Kids, not now, you two have a big decision to make," Ethan mocked.

Antonio continued kissing her until she turned around. "You really like this place, don't you?" she asked quietly.

"I do, but what about you?"

"I love it... I absolutely love it." Her smile was big and her mind was going all over the place. With all that has been going on lately with Antonio, it had her thinking he was serious about the two of them getting married. She assumed the time when he asked her to marry him, he was only fooling around, now it has her thinking if he was being serious and started wondering if these are all hints of how serious he really is with her.

"Me too, don't forget about what I think," Ethan chuckled. "Better hurry up and decide, you're cutting into my drinking time."

Harlow gave him a look, a look that made his smile disappear. "I'll be quiet, waiting patiently for your decision. I think you kids should buy it, it's a nice place," Ethan sighed and sat down on the couch, waiting to hear what Harlow decides to do.

"I think we should buy it... well you should, that is," she said, taking a deep breath. "But if we get this house, I want you to do one thing for me. I know you said you didn't want me working, but, I have to work, please let me work. I need that getaway and break for whatever reason may be at the time.... otherwise I'll go nuts."

Antonio curled his finger underneath her chin and placed a kiss on her lips. "The house is ours if you want it, it won't be just mine, it will be ours. As for work, I'd hate for you to work, but if that's what you want to do, then that's up to you, I can't stop you."

"I say... let's go for it then." She looked him in the eyes and smiled. "So, what's next after this, a proposal?"

"We'll see," he smiled. Happy she liked the house and happy this was the home she wanted him to buy.
