11- Surprises

Antonio continued talking to Ethan about his plans on marrying Harlow, as well as his hopes and dreams with her. Antonio held up the bottle, waving it back and forth to Ethan. "Another?"

Ethan grinned and slid his glass over to him. "You don't have to ask me twice."

Antonio and Ethan stayed up drinking for a while, until Ethan finally had enough and sat down on the other end of the couch where Harlow was sleeping and passed out. Antonio walked over to Harlow and picked her up, carrying her up the stairs and into the bedroom.

He laid her on the bed, debating about changing her into something a little more comfortable to sleep in, but was worried about what she would think if he did, and left her the way she was. He climbed into bed and fell asleep quickly.

Later, Harlow opened her eyes, looked around and held her head as it pounded. She then realized she wasn't where she last was and turned her head to the side, looking at Antonio. She moved closer to him and laid her head on his chest, wrapping her arm around him.

He felt her snuggle up to him and wrapped his arm around her, kissing the top of her head while he was somewhat asleep. The way her head was pounding, felt like was someone pounding her head with a hammer and closed her eyes, hoping to fall asleep a little longer and to get rid of the headache.

It was around nine in the morning, Antonio woke up with Harlow in his arms and had to get up to use the bathroom, but was worried about waking her. He laid a little longer, until he couldn't hold it any longer and gently slid her off him.

He was feeling a little headache himself and grabbed some ibuprofen and a glass of water, downing the pills and hoping the headache would go away soon. Strong coffee is what I need, he mumbled.

After starting the coffee, he walked down the stairs to check on Ethan. He was still in the same spot where he left him and looked over at the table. His eyes widened when he saw the ring he bought for Harlow was still sitting on the table and quickly walked over to grab it.

He snuck back in his room and quietly opened his drawer, hiding the ring under some clothes. He could hear her moving and walked over, sitting on the bed next to her. As he looked at her, he slid his fingers through her hair and lowered his face to hers, kissing her cheek.

Her eyes opened and wrapped her arms around him tight, pulling him in for a morning kiss. "Good morning sunshine," he says, smiling.

"Morning," she moaned. Her head was still pounding and placed the palm of her hand on her forehead. "You wouldn't happen to have anything for a headache, do you?"

He laughed quietly. "I do, I'll be right back."

He left to get her a glass of water and some ibuprofen and walked back into the room, handing them to her. "Would you like some coffee also? It just finished brewing."

"I could really use some, thanks."

Antonio was pouring Harlow a cup of coffee, when Ethan roamed into the kitchen. "I could use a cup of coffee, if that's alright."

Antonio chuckled. "You have a hangover as well?"

"Yea, my head is pounding pretty good."

Antonio poured him a cup and handed him a bottle of ibuprofen. "Your sister isn't doing so well either."

Ethan laughed. "She's a rookie, but I have to say... damn even my head is hurting."

Harlow slowly walked into the kitchen, sitting down next to Ethan. Ethan then turned to her and laughed. Her hair was all over the place and her mascara was smeared all over underneath her eyes. "You look like you've been road hard."

"Not now Ethan."

"What was all that talk about you outlasting me?" he chuckled. "You know what the best way to avoid a hangover is, don't you?"

"No, tell me."

"Keep on drinking and stay drunk."

"I don't think so," she said, lowering her face in her hands.

Later that day, after everyone sobered up, Antonio had something he wanted to show Harlow and Ethan, and drove them over to the airport.

"Damn Antonio, are you taking us on a trip?" Ethan asked excitedly.

"No, not exactly."

They got out of the car and walked inside a hangar with a couple airplanes inside. "Antonio, what are we doing here?" Harlow asked curiously, looking around.

An older gentleman walked over to the clan, smiling. "Antonio?" he asked.

Antonio reached his hand out, shaking his hand. "Good afternoon, you must be Jerome."

"I am, it's nice to finally meet you." Antonio looked over at the three planes and back over to Jerome. "Are those them?"

"They are, let's go take a look."

Jerome walked the three over to airplanes, letting them know they were all open and ready to be looked at. "Antonio, are you buying an airplane?" Harlow asked surprised.

"I've been thinking about it," he says, walking her up the stairs and into the airplane.

"Wow, it's so different than your average plane."

Antonio laughed while checking the inside out. "Well, these are private planes, made for comfort. You're just use to commercial planes, where they pack hundreds of people inside."

"What are you going to do with an airplane? Do you fly also?" Ethan asked amazed. "Wow, this one even has a bar inside. Sweet!"

"I don't fly, but I already hired a private pilot. I just plan on having one so I could fly anytime and anywhere I want, when I want. It'll be much easier than flying when it's convenient for the airline, buying tickets and sitting inside a crowded plane."

After checking out the other two airplanes, Antonio walked behind Harlow, wrapping his arms around her waist and resting his chin on her shoulder. "So, what do you think?"

"They're very cool and all, but do you really need one?" she asked, staring at the one she really liked.

"I think so." He kissed her cheek and spun her around, looking at her with a smile. "Tell me... which one is your favorite?"

"You're asking me?"

He smiled. "Of course, this is for us... I want you to decide, since you'll be the one traveling with me."

Her stomach dropped not wanting to be the one to decide, but thought it was a nice gesture to include her in on it. She turned around, looked at the planes and couldn't believe this was happening.

"If she won't decide, I will." Ethan says, grinning. He walked over to one of the planes and pointed. "This one is by far the best one."

Harlow smiled, and giggled. "I have to give him that, it was actually my favorite as well."

"So, do you think I should buy that one?"

She shrugged her shoulders and smiled as she turned to look at him. "If you're going to be persistent on buying a plane and having me decide on the one you should buy. Then my choice would be the one Ethan is standing next to. That one was the best, by far."

"Excellent..." he looked at Jerome. "Sold, you heard her... I'll take that one right there," he says, pointing to the airplane he wanted.

Harlow stood behind Antonio watching him sign the paperwork. She was in awe with how she landed a guy that was self-motivated, determined to be at the top, generous, as well as caring and was very loving. He cared more about others, than himself. Not to mention, she never thought she would end up with a guy who has money and wasn't arrogant about it. All he wanted was to share his wealth with everyone around him.

Antonio and Jerome stood up, shaking hands. "It was a pleasure doing business with you," Jerome said with a smile. He looked over at Harlow and shook her hand. "So, where do you plan on going for your first trip?" he asked her.

"I'm not sure, this was all a surprise to me," she said shyly, looking at Antonio.

"I say we get that pilot you said you hired and go fly somewhere tropical." Ethan blurted out. "I need to see a change of scenery, I'm tired of seeing mountains and dry land."

Antonio looked at Ethan and chuckled. "We will, I want to get this in and have it all inspected before we fly off anywhere."

They walked back inside the plane and looked around some more, Ethan sat down on the couch and sprawled himself out. "Damn, this is nice."

Harlow walked to the back of the plane and looked inside the bedroom, looking at the bed. "Would you like to try it out?" Antonio asked quietly in her ear. He had snuck up behind her and caused her to gasp when he spoke. He shut the door and climbed on top of her as he laid her on the bed, kissing her. "I love you."

"I love you too," she smiled.

Ethan opened the door and grinned when he saw the two making out. "Oops, am I interrupting you two?"

"Dammit Ethan, go away," Harlow snapped.

"I'll be leaving, it's way too hot in here anyway."

"What did you need?" Antonio sighed, as he shifted off Harlow to look at Ethan.

"I was just curious if it was national steak day?"

"Go away you imbecile." Antonio laughed, waving his hand for him to leave.

Ethan laughed while shutting the door. Antonio rolled back on top of Harlow and smiled. "Tell me... where's a place you would like to go?"

She shrugged her shoulders and smirked "I don't know."

"There has to be someplace you would like to go." He lowered his lips to hers, kissing her softly. "Pick a place and we will go; I'll have someone inspect the plane and I'll call to make arrangements with the pilot that I hired."

"Cancun?" she asked.

A smile crept up his face. "If that's where you would like to go, then I'll get everything set up for us."

The next day Antonio made some calls to have the airplane inspected and ready to go. He also had some other surprises in store for Harlow. He went to the store and bought groceries, wanting to cook a dinner for her.

He set some candles on the table, lighting them before she came over. He was in the kitchen stirring sauce when he heard her walk up behind him. He turned his head sideways to get a glimpse of her. "Hello beautiful," he says, puckering his lips for her to kiss him.

"Hi..." she gave him a kiss and looked to see what he was making. "It smells good, what are you making?"

"Nothing special... just chicken parmigiana." He turned around and picked her up spinning her around, smiling. He started to let her slide down and stopped her as her face came to his, pulling her in for a kiss.

He let go of her as he set her back down. "You're in a good mood," she smiled and walked over to the counter. She looked over at the table and saw the candles burning, raising a brow. "A candlelight dinner, even."

"Yes, I wanted to do something special for you."

She gave him a curious look and walked up to him, wrapping her arms around him and looked him in the eyes. "What are you up to? I can tell you're up to something."

He laughed. "I'm not up to anything. Like I said, I just wanted to make you a nice meal. I didn't feel like going out and thought it would be more special if I just cooked for you."

"Uh huh," she grinned.

He smacked her ass and chuckled. "Go sit down, it's about done." he said, giving her a long passionate kiss. "Hope it tastes okay."

She smiled. "I'm sure it will be just fine."

She sat at the table and looked at the lit candles on the table. Her stomach began growling from the aroma of the marinara sauce cooking and couldn't stop peeking over at him. She thought he looked sexy as he was trying to prepare their meal and how he looked nervous to make sure it looked perfect.

He walked over to her, setting her plate down in front of her. "Dinner is served, madame," he grinned. She shook her head and smiled.

"You're up to something, I know it."

He sat down and poured her a glass of wine. She twisted her lips as she watched him pour the wine. "It's the same wine I had you try that time at the restaurant," he said, after noticing the look on her face while pouring her a glass.

"It looks really good and smells amazing."

"True Italian chicken parmigiana... try it."

She took a bite, moaning at the taste of it and took another bite. "This is really good," she said with her mouth full of food. She continued eating and could sense he was nervous about something, especially after he kept looking over at her, acting like he wanted to say something. After finishing their meal, they sat at the table and drank another glass of wine, talking.

He finally got the nerve to bring up what had been on his mind and reached his hands over to hers, holding them tightly. Her heart began beating faster the more she saw the look in his eyes and started trying to figure out why he was acting so nervous, then it hit her. With the candlelight dinner, him cooking for her and his nervousness, she felt he was getting ready to propose to her and got nervous herself.

She could feel that her hands beginning to shake and removed her one hand away from his to reach for her glass of wine, finishing it. "Now who's nervous?" he asked, smiling.

She wiped her lips and looked at him with a questionable look. "You're making me nervous by the way you're acting."

"Well... I've been thinking and it's been on my mind for a while..."

"Antonio," she whispered, looking down and taking a deep breath.

"I was thinking... something's been missing around here and the more I think about it, the more I know what it is."

"What's missing?"

"You..." he picked up his glass and took a sip of his wine while looking at her. He grinned as he set his glass back down and squeezed her hand tighter. "I was thinking that it's awfully quiet and lonely around here and would like to fill the emptiness feeling I've been having, by asking if you would like to move in with me."

She breathed in quickly and exhaled slowly a couple times, after thinking he was going to propose to her. She took her hands away and rubbed her legs nervously. "That's a big step."

"I know it is and the way I look at it, we already did the first big step in our relationship," he smiled. "But I've been thinking about this long and hard... and I would love for you to move in with me. I want to be able to fall asleep every night with you in my arms and to wake up every morning with you still in my arms."

She bit down on her bottom lip, thinking about it. She liked the idea of being able to see him a lot more and liked the idea of being able to sleep next to him, every night. "Well..."

"Please say that you will..." He stood up quickly and walked over to the counter. He grabbed some papers and walked over to her, handing them to her. "I also would like to take you to see these places."

"Houses?"

"Yes... I want to buy us a house, but I want to include you in on picking it out... what do you say?"
