    Donna Jo Lorraine Henderson, who also liked to be called "DJ" was... well, hopelessly devoted to Steve Harrington.

I mean, who wasn't? He had gorgeous hair, perfect teeth, popular, all the girls wanted him. To DJ, he was a god. Well, that was up until DJ's best friend, Nancy Wheeler, started dating him. But I'm getting ahead of myself...

You see, DJ had developed a crush on King Steve back when she was in 8th grade and Steve was a freshmen. Their schools had gone on an annual camping trip and on a bonfire night, Steve's asshole friend, Tommy, had purposely placed a s'more on DJ's seat.

Out of utter embarrassment from Tommy pointing out the fact that it looked like DJ shit herself, she ran into the woods. She stayed near a tree and cried for almost two hours. Can you guess who found her?

Ding-ding-ding! You guessed correctly, Steve Harrington. DJ was pretty pissed off at Steve, too. But that was until Steve had apologized for Tommy and told her he was gonna get on Tommy's ass for what he did and that he was gonna make sure that everyone knew it was a s'more she sat on. Steve had even given her a jacket to wrap around her waist when they went back to the campsite.

And that was it. DJ Henderson was hooked.

She spent years pining for him... but obviously, 'the jock' didn't know 'the nerd' existed after that. Unlucky for her, her best friend had begun to start seeing him. DJ couldn't really blame Nancy, she didn't know about DJ's massive crush on Steve. Only person that knew was her best friend and local school drug dealer and party-goer, Jack Jones, who also liked to be called: JJ.

In this November weather of 1983, Nancy is going steady with Steve and while DJ is pining over a boy she knows she shouldn't care about... Will Byers goes missing.

      Now DJ Henderson was no hero. If she had to pick a fight or flight option, she'd choose flight in a heartbeat. Maybe even humor to cope. But what happens when her little brother and his friends set on a quest to find their missing friend and it's all roped in a game of Dungeons and Dragons? Will she choose to be a hero or will she be the anti-hero instead?

hey lovelies!
so i have finally decided to rewrite this (for like the billionth time) and i am so excited because i am FINALLY happy with this lol

staying in bed at home and being sick while binge-watching all of the seasons of stranger things actually helps when you know wtf you're doing this time lmao

one thing: DJ IS A HUMAN BEING WHO CAN HAVE NORMAL PROBLEMS. she is allowed to make mistakes and she's allowed to be herself.
