Episode 5: The Dimension-Jumper's Goat | Part 4

Wendy woke up in a place that was obviously not Oregon. She was inside what appeared to be a giant, white room. When she began to stir, she felt an electric shock coming from her hands. She looked down to find that her hands were locked in white orbs that were each the size of a softball. They seemed to be made of the same glossy, smooth material as the room around her.

Wendy's vision was blurry, so the brightness of the room forced her to squint. She felt dizzy.

"Where am I?" she mumbled to herself.

"We're both in prison because of you."

Wendy recognized the deep, raspy voice of the same woman from earlier, however long that had been, Wendy wasn't sure. The woman was locked in the same restraints as Wendy. Wendy noticed that her tool belt with the strange objects was gone, probably confiscated by whoever it was that locked them up.

"How is this my fault?" Wendy shot back. "You're the thief who stole Gompers in the first place!"

"Gompers?"

"THE GOAT!"

"You don't understand," the woman pleaded. "I needed that goat to get out of this joint."

Wendy looked skeptical. "Why a goat?"

The woman sighed. "I lost a bet I made with a former friend of mine. I refused to pay what I owed them, so they had me sent here." She looked away from Wendy, realizing how vulnerable she had just made herself.

Wendy felt guilty. "Some friend, huh?"

The woman nodded with a slight smile.

"Also," Wendy added. "I'm wondering why a goat is so important. . . do you mind explaining to me?"

She laughed. "You've got to be joking! A goat is practically equivalent to currency on Mewny. They're like gold to Mewmans, well, higher than gold."

Wendy lifted an eyebrow. "Mewmans?"

"You know? The kingdom of Mewny? Ah, you're from Earth. I keep forgetting. Mewny is one of the most powerful dimensions in the multiverse."

Wendy nodded. There was a brief awkward silence. Wendy was the first to break it.

"My name is Wendy, by the way."

The woman turned to her, her expression turning stone cold again. Wendy suddenly realized that the conversation before had been more of a bored ramble since there was no one else to talk to. As of now, they were still sort of enemies.

"You think that just cause I poured my heart out to you we're suddenly gonna be all buddy buddy?"

Wendy shrugged. "Well. . . yeah."

The woman grunted and bit down on her bottom lip in a way similar to someone pinching themselves in hopes of waking up back home in bed.

"I'm Camilla Flage," she muttered.

Wendy held back from snickering, her face beginning to turn red.

"What're you laughing at?"

"Nothing, nothing. It's just- oh never mind." What Wendy wanted to point out was the fact that Camilla's name sounded an awful lot like 'camouflage'.

"Just out of curiosity," Wendy spoke up again. "Are you able to turn invisible?"

Camilla thought to herself for a second. "My suit can sort of do that. It can adjust to my surroundings and blend in, but I lost my mask a long time ago so my head doesn't do the same."

Wendy wanted to laugh again at the thought of Camilla's angry, disembodied head floating around. This time she was luckily able to withhold her laughter. (Camilla didn't seem to be in the joking mood.)

"Do you think you could use it to escape?"

Camilla laughed. "Ha. Yeah right. The tech they built this room with most likely disables my suit. As of now, it's useless."

Wendy twisted around so she could looked closely at the walls of the room. She imagined that they were similar to the one-way mirrors that were used to spy on suspects when the cops questioned them in TV shows. But considering the technology she had witnessed within the past 24 hours, she concluded that it was very unlikely.

"We need to get someone in here. . . we gotta. . . we gotta get in a fight or something so they'll come in here to separate us," Wendy suggested.

"Ha. Piece of cake," Camilla muttered sarcastically. "Better yet, let's throw a tea party! I'm sure they'd love to join us!"

Wendy frowned. "Just work with me, alright? After they get in here, I'll distract them while you get a head start to find your scissors so we can escape."

Camilla didn't verbally respond. She only uttered another grunt and nodded. Wendy began to execute her plan.

"I CAN NOT BELIEVE I'M STUCK IN HERE WITH YOU!" Wendy screamed at the top of her lungs. "I'D RATHER ROT ALONE!"

"I'M SICK OF YOU ALREADY AND YOU HAVEN'T EVEN BEEN CONSCIOUS FOR TEN MINUTES!" Camilla screamed back, although her remark was obviously not an act.

After a couple more minutes of consistent screaming, nothing happened. Wendy sank down on the floor and thought to herself for another moment. Out of both desperation and determination, she sat back up again and started to sing.

"WHO WANTS A LAMBY LAMBY LAMBY-"

"-what are you doing?" Camilla groaned. "Face it. We're doomed. Now shut up."

"I DO! I DO! SO GO AND GREET YOUR MAMMY MAMMY MAMMY-"

"-SHUT UP!"

"HI THERE! HI THERE!"

"ZIP IT!"

"SO MARCH, MARCH, MARCH THROUGHOUT THE DAISIIIIIES! BUT DON'T, DON'T, DON'T YOU FORGET ABOUT THE BABYYYY-"

Wendy was cut off by wall, which slid open to reveal two largely built men. Each were heavily armed with several weapons each. One looked like he was trying his best to look serious while the other didn't seem to have any trouble with acting the part.

"What's with all the racket?"

A/N: sorry for the late update and the short chapter. Like I said in my travel story bit in my book, Cath's Journal then you know about my traveling fiasco last week so I'm still pulling myself together both physically and mentally XD

This chapter was really fun to write and the next chapter will finally conclude The Dimension-Jumper's Goat!

Since I've left you guys hanging for so long, I'm gonna go ahead and announce the title of the next chapter, which is Single Dipper, parallel to Double Dipper!!!

The chapter or episode, whichever you'd like to refer to it, will focus on Wendy attempting to break up Dipper and Pacifica over the course of a party that Stan has thrown at the Mystery Shack. I've been thinking about how I'm going to make a parallel to the clones. I might just stick with clones but I also thought that it might be funny for Wendy to recruit the gnomes or something. (Feel free to share any opinions or ideas in the comments.)

Have a lovely weekend!
-Cath
