Cast Hunting: Hiro, Author!Me, Jasper and Vala- 2nd Stop
"I WANNA RIDE A KANGAROO!"
"Don't be an idiot Vala,"
Those were the first words uttered by the lead girls as they took their first steps outside the airport and into Australia. Hiro's eyes were closed, opposite to Vala's wide open brown hues, her gaze flickering to the large buildings in Sydney. Vala didn't even seem the slightest bit angry at Hiro's response, by now they were used to their characters just as they were each other.
"Isn't Sydney gorgeous?" Author smiled, hands behind her head as her watchful eyes wandered up the buildings and surrounding landscape. She leaned back a bit as she walked, mouth letting out air in blissful joy. Hiro, breaking a bit out of character, nodded with both eyes open. Vala clapped her hands together and Hiro chuckled back at her before closing her onyx eyes.
"It is! Right Jas?" Vala looked past Author to see the plumette reading a book. He glanced up and nodded, going back to reading almost directly afterwards. He was, of course, coming with them for the auditions- he needed to know who he was costaring with!
Author got along with him with ease, same with Vala and Hiro after Vala had stopped shipping the two. Hiro didn't know why she stopped actually, but she was glad, and glancing at her phone she got another reminder why. She couldn't quite suppress the happiness that started itching at the sides of her mouth as Author nudged her.
"The opera house is where we're holding the auditions, so I'm expecting you all ready by Six," Author grinned "Til then, have fun loves~!" She waved, pulling her hood up and putting on sunglasses, wearing a disguise as well.
After all, none of them wanted to get flocked by crowds.
They looked probably nothing like they normally would, so all Hiro wanted to do was go to the hotel and take off the awfully uncomfortable get up. Vala wasn't on that side though, and had already planned the day with the help of Jasper, who would be getting to relax at the hotel.
"First stop, I'm starved! So we have to go to 'Black Star Pastry'! They have an epic strawberry watermelon cake!" Vala hailed a taxi, dragging Hiro in it.
Hiro mouthed 'save me' to Jasper, who yelled "Have fun!" In response. Poor Hiro will be worn out by the time of the auditions- oh well!
----------////The Auditions////---------
"Pathetic, Next!"
Vala winced at the Authors cold tone- couldn't help it, she still couldn't get used to the small, adorably innocent female acting like.. Hiro basically. She gave the poor contestant an apologetic shrug smile, feeling bad for the poor person- even though this poor person rudely rolled her eyes at Vala. Vala would take a bit more time to understand the change in Authors personality.
Hiro and Jasper meanwhile had no trouble at all adjusting, Hiro's arms were crossed and her eyes were closed, and Jasper was reading yet again. Vala would have to ask what that book was about- he seemed so interested in it. He wouldn't put it down, and his eyes seemed glued to the pages.
She turned to Author, her red locks bouncing around her shoulders as she pouted like an infant.
"Author, can't you be nicer to 'em?"
"I'm just being honest, and giving them the boot," Author shrugged, nonchalant. Vala huffed, clearly wasn't satisfied by the answer and pried further.
"I mean come on now, they're tryin'!" Vala pointed out as the next person was called. Author tossed a look at her, it seemed she was finding a little bit of humour in the girls annoyance. Letting out a puff of breath she let her gaze travel back onto the stage, not looking Vala in the eyes as she spoke.
"Vala, I am not dismissing their attempts. They have talent, but they just don't fit. Or they are not the kind of people I wish to work with. Simple as," Author waved off any other attempts Vala had to understand as the auditions trailed on.
It went on like that until night struck and they had to sign off. They came back the next day, and by five O' clock they still hadn't had any luck. Jasper looked up from his book, as Author wearily rubbed her eyes. She hadn't gotten a good nights sleep, she had been to busy planning and such. Vala's worried expression directed itself to her and Hiro opened an eye. Jasper glanced up from his book, before sighing and returning to reading.
"Honestly, no auditions have gone this long before, usually it's in and out in a day," Author complained a bit, not caring how annoying she may sound. As mean as it sounds, no one yet had any talent, or weren't showing it at all, it was as if they were just doing it to be on the audition show, and Author was sick of it.
"It's such a pain. After this one, I think we'll have to go to the back up location for our character. Which I REALLY didn't want to do," Author had bags under her eyes, resting her head on her arms and snoring a bit. There was some sort of issue going on with the next audition and she took the chance to take a cat-nap.
Vala and Hiro looked at each other, then Jasper who was shrugging. He had a com-link in his ear, but they hadn't said a thing about the next-
BOOM! CLAP!
"Sound of my heart, the beat goes on and on and on and on now~" Hiro and Vala both sung, hearing the narration. Author looked up and gave them an unamused glance, rolling the tension off her shoulders as she sat up. A girl was sitting in front of them..
Well, upside down..
On a beam..
Near the ceiling..
Hiro had to crane her neck up to see the girl who was dangling precariously over the edge of the rickety wooden plank, grinning with her eyes covered by white bandages. Her hair shared the colour of the bandages, drip dyed a minty green and a sky blue.
Instantly, the Author liked that girl.
Hiro leaned back as the girl flipped down, landing with her hands in the air and her feet on the ground just like her personality, as They'd soon find out. Down to earth with a head in the skies. Author was given her file and Hiro snuck a peak at it.
The girls name was Fayre Grace, and after she announced it with a grand splendour Jasper was the first to speak. He looked up from his book, marking the page and placing it carefully on the panel. Vala saw the book he was reading was... a dictionary?! Leaning forward he leaned his cheek against his right hand and looked upon the not at all nervous female with eyes brimming with curiosity.
"Your name is Fayre Grace, which is of English decent meaning beautiful charm, correct?" Authors eyebrow pricked up at the males words as Vala watched the girl across them grin a bit modestly.
"Yes," a simple response was paired up with a challenging look from the girl. Hiro glanced back at Jasper, who continued.
"But you're Australian born and raised, despite the lack of an accent?" He confirmed and she nodded, signalling that he was indeed correct. Her head fell up to where the sun would be, a slightly wistful smile lingering on her relaxed face.
"I actually wish I had that accent, having none gets a bit boring at times, and my mom and dad picked it up with ease," she let out a puff of air before her head bobbed back down and she looked at Jasper in the eyes.
"Both my parents are English, they moved here for my dads job and I was born here. It's my home, even if I don't have the accent," she grinned with a look in her eyes of sheer determination and confidence.
There was some kind of a comfortable silence before Vala sprung up. She walked around the panel and wrapped an arm around the new girl, Fayre. Hiro opened on eye in intrest, having her Vala's loud steps, and Jasper didn't glance up from his book. Author keenly listened to what the red head had to say.
"I like this girl, Author. I don't think you'll find anyone better for the role," Vala didn't have a doubt in her voice, no stutter and her accent seemed to disappear slightly.
Author got up and Vala was, for an instant, afraid Author would cut Vala for doing ANOTHER thing out of place.
However when Author grinned, Vala gapped like the crab in the little mermaid.
"She's in," those words were enough to start squealing, an Hiro looked at Author confused by her actions. Author smiled at her knowingly at her.
"Like Vala said, she's perfect for the role. Her character has to have an extremely strong connection with Vala, like you and Ximena. They hit it off, no more is needed," Author explained and Hiro nodded, her brows were less furrowed now as she came to terms and understood the authors meaning.
Turning to the audience, who were cheering and clapping, Jasper raised a hand for silence. Author sprung onto the panel, sitting down with her legs crossed and her usual smile. Hiro turned the chair around, and Vala tuned in just as well as the audience.
"Well then, I hope you all enjoyed this set of auditions, and now it's time to reveal the next location. So far, we've been to Spain and Australia, and our next location is...
Brazil~!"
