No, Mari, it's not. You pinched yourself for twenty seven times already. Nathaniel, your adorable tomato crush, really gave you a drink from Starbinks.

And yes, Marinette. He's your boyfriend. And it's been one month and a week.

"Mari?" he spoke, his electric blue eyes staring into mine, making me even more starstruck. Oh my god, he's my boyfriend. "Are you okay? Don't you like the drink?"

"Um, yeah. I like you," I blurted out. His pretty eyes widened as a small smile formed on his face, his both ears turning red. Realizing at what I had just said, I felt my face grow warmer.

Nathaniel lets out a laugh, his eyes nearly closing, and his cheeks slowly tinting pink. If only I had a camera with me, I'd definitely take a picture o him right now.

"I like you too," he replies, squishing both of my cheeks, still laughing. My heart began to pound violently against my chest and I felt like it was beginning to get harder to breathe. It's been quite long already, but I still can't believe that this boy right here is my boyfriend.

"U-um ----"

"----Oh my god, is that Nathaniel?"

"Shit, Chris, it is! Eeek! He's so hot in person!"

"He's with a girl? What the heck?"

Oh, no. I forgot that we were in a public place.

Nathaniel cursed under his breath as he adjusted his black cap. He removes his hand from my cheek and placed one over my head, moving me closer towards his chest to cover me.

"Marinette," he whispers near my ear, his deep voice sending shivers down my spine. "Let's run."

Shit.

I know this isn't the right time, but damn, he smells so good. I never knew he was this tall until now, when my head is against his firm chest; I could barely reach his chin. His hand behind my head protectively covering me made me feel so safe, and so . . . giddy. I suddenly had a thought that cuddling with him would be so comforting and warm---

MARINETTE STOP IT.

Still placing his hand over my head, we ran. I was still leaning against the side of his chest as we ran to somewhere only the heavens know, my legs getting heavier by the minute.

It felt like years when we finally stopped running, and I realized that we were back in the Miraculous Studios building, safe and sound. Although the people in the lobby were giving us looks, it didn't matter, as long as we were away from the crazy Nathaniel fans.

Nathaniel removed his hand from my head as I moved away from his chest.

Nooooooo.

"Are you okay?" he asks, his eyes frantically scanning my body in concern and worry. The small act made me smile and made my heart flutter.

"I'm fine. You?" I replied softly, placing my hand on his right cheek. He places his hand on top of mine as he looks straight into my eyes, relief washed over the frantic look in his face.

"I'm alright. I'm sorry," he squeezes my hand. "I should've been more careful."

"No, don't be sorry. It's no one's fault, okay? I wasn't careful too."

"What the fuck did you do?"

Our heads turned to the direction of the voice, leading us to a mad overripe banana head. He was stomping his feet as he walked towards us with a phone on his hand and the staff behind him, following him with worried looks.

"Look!" he demanded, facing his phone screen in front of us.

NATHANIEL KURTZBERG HAS A GIRLFRIEND?

Earlier this noon, the famous actor and international heartthrob, Nathaniel Kurtzberg, was seen with a non-showbiz girl outside of the famous coffee shop, Starbinks.

Both seemed to have quite an intimate moment with each other, which gives an undeniable conclusion to those who have witnessed.

Further information will be disseminated as soon as it is confirmed by our very own Nathaniel that he is, in fact, not available anymore.

The question is, however; Who is this mystery girl? What did she do to make the Nathaniel Kurtzberg fall head over heels for her?

"Mari," he immediately squeezed my hand, his eyes still looking straight into Adrien's phone, his face mixed with worry, anger, and fear.

"Do you realize what you've done?" Adrien exclaimed, making the people around us turn their attention to us. "Huh, Nathaniel? You were supposed to keep your relationship a secret until the movie comes out. Heck, you weren't even supposed to have a relationship in the first place!"

"Adrien." Penelope called, her hands folded across her chest. "Stop it."

"You were supposed to protect her, Nathaniel. Now look at that. Look at this. Everyone's beginning to hate her, and she's not even on screen yet! I thought you were her boyfriend, huh? This is your responsibility! I can't believe you actually ----"

"Adrien, please stop," I weakly stated. His frantic green, cat-like eyes immediately softened as they turned to me. I felt my tears flooding up my eyes as my heart began to twist and ache. All of this was too much, it's overwhelming. "Why are you like this?"

"What do you mea ---?"

"You act like you don't care, then the next second, you yell at Nathaniel for not protecting me? What the heck is wrong with you?" I exclaimed. I couldn't take it anymore.

My private life was going to be exposed soon, almost everyone in this city will know my name and slowly destroy my life and my future, and this boy in front of me gives me so much confusion and frustration in my heart to the point that I couldn't breathe.

All of this was just so overwhelming, and it's all falling down on my shoulders like full, heavy bricks dragging me down.

"Please, Adrien, just this once, leave me alone. You've done enough. Please," I pleaded, tears streaming down my face. My heart felt heavier as it was getting harder to breathe.

Adrien was about to say something when Nathaniel grabbed my hand and walked towards the exit with me.

"Nathaniel, what are you ----"

He looks at me, his deep blue eyes filled with warmth and understanding. "You need some air. You need to escape, even just for today. I know just the place."

I sniffed as he wiped my tears away with his soft, warm hands. We went inside his car, fortunately not being surrounded by random strangers trying to stick their noses up in our business.

As he sat on the drivers seat and I sat on the passengers seat, he holds my hand and gives me a warm, sincere smile that immediately made my heart feel lighter. "Trust me, alright?"

I nodded and squeezed his hand.

"I trust you."

enyyyweyyy, i know some of you don't like the nathanette content here, but ya'll should respect the ones who do.

this is a story for a reason, and stories don't always flow the way you want them to.

just because this is an adrienette fanfiction doesn't mean it should be like: poof, it's just adrien and me & the whole book revolves around adrien and me and no one else and it's a happy ending tadaaaa the end!

this book is gonna be one hell of a roller coaster ride with lots of obstacles, so if you don't like that, then the exit button is just right there.
