HIDDEN TRUTH
In shadows cast by candor's gentle light,
A truth concealed, an untold tale takes flight,
A heart deceived, by shadows thickly spun,
With whispered doubts, a trust becomes undone.
I shared my deepest fears and dreams untold,
In tender moments, secrets we'd unfold,
Each step taken, weighed with utmost care,
Seeking guidance from the one so rare.
I thought we cradled trust within our hearts,
A bond protected, never meant to part,
But here I stand, amidst the shattered pieces,
Yearning for answers, searching for releases.
Why did you hold back, dear companion true?
When I poured my soul, why did you construe
That this truth, so vast, would spare no harm,
To let me wander through this endless storm?
Each night I thought we shared every little truth,
Yet you remained aloof, detached, uncouth,
And as the days wore on, my trust grew frail,
As tears cascaded down a face so pale.
Doubt seeped into my veins, a bitter taste,
A heart, once open, now a lonesome waste,
For secrets kept can poison friendship's embrace,
A bridge engulfed in shadows, out of place.
But still, with wounded heart, my love persists,
Though burdened by deceit, my love insists,
To mend these broken threads, where once we wove,
Confessions hidden, truths so cruelly clove.
In time, perhaps, your courage will take flight,
And secrets will be bathed in honest light,
Until that day, my dear, I'll bear the pain,
For friendship's resilience weathers any strain.
But know, my friend, that wounds of trust run deep,
A broken bond requires more than words to keep,
And should that day arrive, when truth's revealed,
Together we must heal, so friendship can be unsealed.
